Hello, I am new to Twinkl and so far having a great time! I have read through the comments below and would like a cursive version with lines. Is that something I would have to do myself or is there one already created?
Hi estherblount,
Thanks for your lovely request - I'll ask our design team to take a look and see if we can make this change for you :)
Hi there estherblount,
We've made this resource for you and have sent it in an email, I hope you find it useful! It will also be available for download within 48 hours, and you can find it either as a new resource, or under 'Alternative versions' above.
I'm trying to edit this - it has to be in cursive - but I can't seem to do so (the one called My Book Review worked fine...)
Hi janetmary,
I'll see what we can do for you! Thanks for commenting :)
Hi there janetmary,

We have a book corner with 50 new books. To encourage more reading each child will review a book and suggest which child would enjoy it!
I will use this a an independent activity during guided. It will be nice to see what my class think about the books they read.
I will use this as a homework activity.
I am speechless with the new resources. ):
Our book review templates' simple design is perfect for KS1 students learning how to write a book review. Each main section is laid out with prompts to make sure that your students think about all the key elements when writing their book review.
Split into four different sections this book review template covers different areas and opinions of the book that they have read. Each section includes prompt questions that will really encourage your students to think critically about what they have just read.
The template focuses on plot, characters, your student's opinion and whether they would recommend the book. This template is great because not only does it get your students to explain the plot and the characters, which examines their understanding of the book, it also encourages your students to express their personal opinion. Your class can think critically about what they have read but also give their own personal views and say whether they would like a friend to read it. This is resource is great for your KS1 lessons as it encourages independent thinking.
To further encourage comprehensive reading with your students, why not try our lovely reading comprehension resources?
We even have fantastic Editable Reading Certificate Templates you can award your pupils with to encourage their reading.
Wait, there's more... Do you like your story books to come with an extra challenge? We also make puzzle adventure books where you can look for clues and solve riddles while you read! Try out our Twinkl Puzzled Adventure Books, including Adventure at Dragon Castle, The Theatre of Magic and The Lost Astronaut.
Does your child have homework set based on a book they're reading at school? This book review template is a brilliant way to assist your child in familiarity with the book they are reading, as well as developing their literacy skills with figuring out the plot, characters, their opinion and whether they would recommend the book to a friend.
This book review template is a great resource to use at home over the summer holidays. Lots of children love to read on their summer holidays, so take a few of our templates along wherever you go. Not only are they great as it keeps your children writing over the summer and encourages critical thinking. But your children can collect up all the reviews they have written over summer and remember all the different books they've read. Your children can colour and draw characters from each book on the templates to remind them of their favourite parts. Encourage your children to start a book club and the children could exchange their reviews to see what others thought and what they could read next.

This resource is great for use in KS1 lessons or even at home to encourage and engage students with reading.
The main purpose of a book review is to help other readers decide whether they should read the book themselves. It presents all the main ideas within the book offering them in a simple book review template. It should address the authors style, central ideas and approach of the book. Book reviews are also great for reflecting on your own understanding of the book and what the key messages were.
