Scam alert: Discovery Center of Idaho warns of fraudulent calls about giveaways

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Discovery Center of Idaho says it has received several notifications that individuals are receiving calls from a 208 area code claiming to be the Discovery Center.

The caller claims the individual "won a drawing/giveaway and wants to discuss their winnings."

These calls are not from the Discovery Center of Idaho. Any calls from its staff will come directly from its official number at 208-343-9895.

Any official giveaways from the Discovery Center of Idaho will be announced via its platforms, not direct phone calls to individuals.
