- Pretty disappointed with quality control. Sad But True picture disc arrived with scratches. Anyway, that went straight into a MoFi sleeve as it came in the usual PVC sleeve. The Wembley record had a massive graze on it too...Not sure what the correct term is, but it won't come off. Then apart from a couple of minor dents on the box, all is fine. But still, reminds me why I don't bother with box sets.
- Fantastic boxset. I mean seriously, there is so much content here. The vinyl sounds great and even the cd isn't too overly compressed. The live shows are always great to see and this one has much more of a premium feel with the packaging. The box is a much harder material and nice fabric lining inside to keep the cds protected better than the cardboard of the previous releases. All around great!
- Excellent on every level. Each album was pressed superbly, at least my copies were. I'm having no issues with sibilance or otherwise. Stylus: AT540ML. So much fun hearing elements I didn't hear before, like the subtleties of reverb tails and guitar parts that stand out in a way I didn't notice on prior versions. Overall, The Black Album sounds tighter, more punchy with an extended bottom end. Tushino Airfield is such a crushingly monumental concert that was captured expertly. Unreal. Mine isn't perfectly flat, but not at all badly warped, thankfully play is not affected whatsoever. The DVD/CD's are all super fun to dive into; brings me right back to waiting in line at midnight for it to be released. What a better world back then! So many insanely excited, devoted Tallikids! If you love Metallica as much as I do, you will love this box set. Metallica Rules! 🤘
- I love this set, pre-ordered all the way back in July. Just got it in Oct. It has been taking me awhile to get through the whole set. I did come across one CD cover (Cardboard sleeve) CD 9: Some Shit From Day On The Green, Oakland, CA - October 12th, 1991 that is damaged pretty good (the CD is fine). I contacted Metallica's general inquiry they told me too bad, My Amazon return window is closed and I didn't want to do a return for one sleeve as that is a waste and takes away from another person who may want to buy a set so I am trying to figure out who to contact to see if it's possible to do an exchange.
There are so many labels listed I don't even know where to start. Otherwise the set is great just like the other ones and I wish all the sets would have been like this, they just get better with each release. Anyhow thanks if anyone can guide me in the right direction. \m/ \m/ - Edited 2 years agoDoes anyone know if this pressing is EXACTLY the same one as the remastered double vinyl released in September. People on that listing are complaining of sibilance on both records.
