Bing Maps - Collections View

I recently opened "My Collections" in Bing Maps and the listings tiles are so large that the collection panel takes up half of the screen, covering up the map that I actually want to look at. Previously, the collections showed up as a nice, compact list at the left side of the map. I have been unable to find any setting that controls this behavior. I have tried in both Google Chrome and MS Explorer with same results.

Hi TBPilot,

Can you confirm the zoom level your browser is set to when you look at the collection?

Sincerely,

IoTGirl

The zoom level is set to the default, 100%. I've also tried it on different computers with the same results.

Hello, TBPilot,

Are you using Bing Map App or Bing Maps from Bing.com search page?

Which Browser are you using?

I've checked Bing.com Maps Collections and agree the Tiles are too large. Use the feedback link to report this to Support/Developers

I'm using Edge browser/Windows 10.

If using Windows 10 try using the Map App. You'll find the tiles are more proportioned for the page.

Thanks, Smittychat,

I don't know why they had to screw up the browser based maps program, but the Maps App works great.

Hi Tom (& Pat),

I forwarded this Answers post and the Bing Experiences team has fast tracked this for you. You should now be seeing a smaller two column experience on smaller screens.  Can you please confirm?

Sincerely,

IoTGirl

Hi, IoTGirl,

It is still too large compared to the Maps app tiles. I also notified Bing Team.

I still see three tiles wide, although it might be a pinch narrower than before. Still takes up at least double the real estate that the old arrangement did. Still not sure why they felt the need to mess with the old arrangement.  If they don't fix this, the Maps App seems to be the way to go moving forward.

Hi Tom,

can you provide more detail as to your repro?  The Bing Experiences team says that they have added a conditional test for screen size that will reduce that column width for smaller screens.  Can you confirm your screen size/window size?

Sincerely,

IoTGirl

I am using dual  23.6" monitors at the recommended 1920x1080 resolution. This is not a "small screen" issue, it's just that they roughly doubled the width of the "My Places" panel. This is what it ends up looking like when I open "My Places". As you can see, the panel takes up almost half of the screen.

In the older version, the My places panel took up the same width as the "Directions" panel does which is about half of what it does now.
