Bianca Maria Visconti James, 90, of Charles Town, WV died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Willow Tree Manor, Charles Town, WV.
She was born July 27, 1922 in Milano, Italy. She was the daughter of Marco Visconti and Alfonsina (Rippa) Visconti.
Ms. James retired from the Harpers Ferry John Brown Wax Museum in 1998. Previously she worked at Lori Lynn Manufacturing, Ranson, WV.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town, WV where she served in the Choir and was a Soloist.
She was a graduate of Saint Ursula Academy, Milan, Italy and attended Milano Conservatory of Music Studies before interrupted by World War II.
After the war she married an American Service Man. She came to the U.S. in 1947 became an American Citizen and soon became active in local politics.
She was a 16 year member of Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee. She served four terms as president of Jefferson County Democratic Women’s Club. She was appointed member of WV Women Commission by Gov. Rockefeller. She was appointed by Gov. Rockefeller to a vacancy in the 1977-1978 WV House of Delegates. She was involved from the beginning in the restoration of Old Opera House.
She was a member of the Board and Active in Stage and backstage in Production.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Graison James, Jr., Thomas Kenneth James, John Michael James and brother, Marco Visconti.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town, WV.
Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery. Charles Town, WV
There will be no visitation.
