A Showpiece For the Ambitious
A memorable, classic film, beautifully written and directed. It was Bette Davis' comeback, a film reminding the world of her genius, and a warning that all pussycats have claws, regardless of age.
It was released the same year as "Sunset Boulevard" and "Born Yesterday," tough Oscar competition, which all these fabulous lead actresses deserved. Judy Holliday took the Oscar home and, if you haven't seen "Born Yesterday," strap yourselves in; it's going to be a funny night.

Bette Davis is riveting!
A knowing take on the talent and machinations of those in the theater. It's now 72 years old, but still seems quite modern. Great story, magnificent acting!
