- Margaret B4 contributionsBreathtaking! The views are beautiful. Very crowded. Parked in bottom and walked up, well worth it. The path up is narrow by foot. Make sure to go prior to 4:30. The gates close and you cannot park or enter. There is more parking up the side. Be respectful. The Jeep was comfortable and the heaters worked well…. cold morning! From clear signs to the parking lot, checking in, and getting setup in the UTV - all seamless and easygoing. The Centipede guided tour was an absolute blast. Even my mother, who's never driven was able to take the reigns. Trevor, our guide, was the best. I really appreciated the available water breaks to switch over drivers and get some phot ops. The access that this tour company provides to bypass the front gate is a real perk with this tour....you also get the off-road experience as you are not on paved roads for part of the trip. We got to explore the canyon for an hour and got amazing pictures. She even helped us take some. Then we went to horseshoe bend and the sun came out just in time as it had been raining off and on most of the day. Our guide was Jarvin Yazzie who was terrific. We were joined by his sister Erica who was in training to be a guide. Her contributions added to the tour.
While in the canyon we saw many Navajo and Hopi ruins as well as petroglyphs and pictographs. Jarvin explained the meaning of these drawings and symbols. He also gave in much detail the history of the canyon floor and the Navajo people. We have taken many tours in our life but this was our favorite ever. - Michael K5 contributionsDoc was our tour guide and he knocked it out of the park. I didn’t know what to expect as the feeling of energies is very personal. I didn’t think I could experience something special with a group of strangers. But our group was awesome and we got to go to spots that not everyone goes to. Also, the walking is totally doable and the covered jeeps provide nice amounts of shade from the sun.
