It was such an incredible experience to visit the outdoor gallery. Thought provoking paintings 🖼 on the wall by many artists. I love it!!’ I enjoyed walking around the area too. The location of the gallery is ideal. It is not far from the train station and there are plenty of shops nearby. Highly recommended to everyone 🇩🇪

If you are visiting Berlin, you should go see the remains of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery. You can find it easily on a sightseeing bus tour if you don't feel comfortable finding it on your own.Artists from all over the world have painted lots of pictures on a long part of the Wall, and there are many different ones to see. You can take pictures and learn more about it. The Gallery is a very special place that helps you understand how big the Wall really is. Don't skip it.

Truly great place to visit. The art work on the Berlin Wall is amazing. This is a real piece of history and you can only just imagine what it was like before the wall was torn down. If you go to Berlin this is an absolute must to visit. Plus there is a nice cafe right next to it. Martha's Cafe. If it hadn't started pouring rain I would have stayed longer but I will definitely be revisiting on my next trip.

The wall has a great history in itself which anyone visiting there would be keen to know and the art done on the wall is amazing. It is so beautiful. It feels like just grab a drink and take a good amount of walk along the wall. It was a great adventure for me to see the beautiful graffiti.

If you're visiting the museum, allow at east 2 hours for it if ou like reading all the things.

Walls are famous for their very existence. Important historical place which associated the different sides of the city though people, culture was identical. Artists have portrayed a lot of interesting things on the wall. It's a bit crowded and one must be careful as the pedestrian path isn't wider.

This is a long stretch of the wall which has been given to artists to paint in sections. The side of the wall along the main road has in excess of 100 murals with differing themes but freedom stands out the most. On going around today there are 3 sections which have been painted over so I guess someone will paint a mural in them. Currently there are some building works going on and about 150 metres has protection from the road however the wall is still there to see. This section of the wall has had the mural defaced with graffiti. The rear of the wall is blank apart from general graffiti. There is an ornate iron gate also built into wall. There is a grass area behind the wall with places to sit and a footpath that runs alongside the River Spree. I went about 1pm and it was fairly busy. The busiest part was the image of the leaders kissing. Well worth seeing and only 10 minutes walk from the East Side Mall.

Absolutely breathtaking and very very deep. It's amazing to see how much of die Mauer is still standing today; painted over with beautiful, meaningful murals from artists all around the world. This place holds so much meaning and worth without needing any words to explain it. It's still extremely hard to believe how it separated Berlin just over 30 years ago. It is very easy to access via the U2 and being free, it is a must go to for any visitor to Berlin

The perfect place to immerse yourself in the authenticity of the Berlin Wall. . We stayed at the hotel right next to the wall and found the park and wall remains amazing. . Here you can really begin to imagine the divide between the east and west side and picture the true scale of the wall along the main street. . The street art now dominates the remains and this in itself is a real treat to absorb. . 100% this is the place to visit to experience the 'wall'

Easily reachable and within a couple of minutes walk of the Ostbahnhof railway station, or one of the many ‘hop on, hop off’ tour buses this really is an ionic part of living history. Just try to arrive a bit early so that you don't have to wait in order to take pictures Such a pity that they allowed property development literally on top of this monument. But I guess money makes the world go around and Berlin officials are obviously notorious money grabbers.

Is 1316 metres long and it accommodates art from 118 artists from 21 countries. It officially opened as an open air gallery on 28 September 1990. Just over a year later, it was given protected memorial status.

Marvel at the architecture of the Glass dome on top of Berlin Parliamentary building, and enjoy a spectacular view of Berlin city from its viewing platform. Its free to visit, and there is a security check before you are whisked by lift to the terrace and given a audio guide. The audio guide points out Buildings of note around Berlin city as you walk up the ramp spiral to the viewing platform. Architecture details of the dome and parliamentary details are given as you walk down the ramp.

Rooftop and dome well worth a visit. Booking ahead required (it’s free). Excellent views of central Berlin in all directions. Nice if general historical summary of the building and its role in German public life available in the dome too.

The building was destroyed during WWII and rebuilt. The visit is free but has to be booked in advance, you will receive a letter and that letter has to be brought at the appointment. You can only visit at the given timeslot and a legal ID has to be presented. It is better to show up at least 15minutes in advance because you have to go through the security to get in. Once in, you can visit the roof terrace and glass dome and also the visitor sitting area of the parliament. About 2 hours is enough here.

When you have free entry to this beautiful place then why not but free entry available to the Dome by online reservation, or in person with your passport or other documents. An audio guide is included so do remember to pick it up upon arrival to the Dome. Enjoy the spectacular landscape views from the dome. Audio guide, which played automatically, gave you brief introduction to major buildings nearby. I enjoyed 360 view from the dome. It’s like amazing bird eye view of Berlin city. Better arrive early before your reserved timeslot because of queue for security check and entrance. Much worth to visit if you planing to visit Berlin.

Great guided tour hosted by Eberhardt - his ability and knowledge was fantastic and his humor warm and friendly. This is my third visit and every time has been different compared to previous tours. Will be visiting again soon to lean more about the architecture, history and the parliament 👍

Absolutely fascinating building a must visit when u r in Berlin. I tried to visit during summer but unfortunately all the slots were booked so I only saw it from outside. So if u r planning to visit during summer time make sure to book your visit time in advance by 7 Weeks during the touristic peak season or 3 weeks at least during summer. I visited again in winter and was lucky to find a slot only three days in advance. The entry is free of charge however booking online and registering the guests information is a must before visit. Make sure to have your confirmation email and ID/ Passport with you. Walking in is NOT possible. You learn all the history of the building, and general information about the German political parties and history. You can pick up an audio guide also free of charge. While climbing the dome ramp you can have a good view of the city and see a lot of important spots in the city like the TV tower, the victory Column, Berlin Cathedral etc etc. It was raining and the city was very grey during my visit but still I did enjoy the view so I can only imagine it will be even better during summer. The security check was quiet fast and super friendly and helpful it only took ten minutes waiting overall going through all the lines / security check. Very well organized. The entire tour takes around an hour and by the end of the tour you can enjoy coffee / drink at the cafe at exist. The cafe has a sitting area indoors and outdoors area has an absolutely amazing view of the spree river.

Wonderful building representing the strength and ideas of the German people. Not as majestic as it used to be, due to the war, but still very impressive. It is worth a visit, especially due to the fact that you can get inside the dome for free, you just need an early reservation.

Really cool building and you get to learn a ton about German history there. The audio guides are really well done and start automatically when you step onto the ramp. As you walk around and around as you ascend, the audioguide then continues to say more about the various things that are available to view.

Place: 5/5 Experience: 2/5 The building looks majestic, and German and EU flags fluttering in the wind add to its splendour. The downside is, to get inside you need to book the ticket a month in advance, and there is no way to get last-minute drop-in tour.

The tickets online make no sense. Buy tickets in person ,and you cand find much more than you see online ! Really good experience inside except for the teen groups who made a lot of noise .

The reichstag was an incredible experience. The audio guide was very informative and the views were great from the top of the dome and the roof of the building.

Definitely worth a trip to the dome if you're able to get tickets. I submitted a request a few weeks before visiting (but never heard back), but was able to go to the physical ticketing centre across the road and get a ticket for two days later. If, like me, you're unable to get a ticket via the registration form online, I would recommend visiting the ticketing centre early in your visit, to hopefully be able to get a ticket for later. The security measures are not too tedious to go through and the views from the dome and phenomenal. The audioguide is also quite informative (especially for non-Germans) and is worth getting.

A beautiful building. We did not go in but we did watch the sound and light show. It was very good. Highly recommended for anybody who is visiting Berlin.

It’s totally free, but you must make a reservation either at the gate by providing your ID or online, I did it at the gate and reserved for next day.Place you must visit when you’re in Berlin. I think if you can visit it on the first day as a tourist it will help you to understand about German Cold War and things about the wall. And specially with the panoramic view you can see some historical monuments and museums that you must pay a visit during your stay. There is no luggage lockers you must carry them with you

Great place to visit near Berlin Gate. You have to book your ticket online beforehand to roam inside the building. You need to show either valid IDs or travel document to get entry for the tour inside. It’s worthy to take the tour. They can provide you earphone with audio device where many languages are available including English, German, French, Spanish etc. It is a historic government building on Platz der Republik in Berlin that has been the seat of the German Bundestag since 1999. Since 1994, the Federal Convention has also met here to elect the Federal President.

Must visit place! I recommend to go here before visiting something else in Berlin, since the audioguide tells you about many different buildings of the city, along with interesting curiosities and things to do. Moreover, the view is stunning especially during sunset and it is completely free. I strongly recommend to book it quite in advance.

The Reichstag is an architectural marvel! I love the glass dome which symbolizes the transparency in government! a must-visit, make sure you book ahead of time and prepare for some waiting.

Tickets go live on the first day of the month, so you need to get in early in order to book in advance and secure a ticket! It was great to visit the Reichstag building - tickets are free (but booking absolutely essential). You also need to have your passport in order to enter the building, and go through body & bag scanners. We were taken up in the lift, and then left - so there was no guide, and no one to show us where to go. Worth picking up an audio guide at the top of the lift, they are free (although mine wasn’t working unfortunately, and I couldn’t be bothered to go and swap it). Beautiful building and great to walk up the glass dome and read/see the photos about the history of the Reichstag building and it’s reconstruction after the war.

The Reichstag is the seat of the federal parliament of Germany. It is an handsome building with an interesting history. To learn about the building's history, you can get tickets to walk around the dome on the building's roof. An elevator takes you to the dome, and on the main floor of the dome is a "mini museum" with lots of captioned pictures that tell the story of the building's past. After getting educated about the building, you can walk up the circular ramp to the dome's top. From there you can take in great views of the city. The entire dome experience takes about an hour. Visitors must buy tickets in advance and go through security before entering the building.

A great tour that you can do for free offering and teaching tourists about the history of Berlin and Germany. This is a great activity for tourists and it’s also a great way to see the city from above. The tickets can be bought online for no charge and the experience involves seeing inside the building, as well as the roof terrace and the dome above. The dome above offers some great architecture and sights of the city, seeing some incredible views. The tour also offers information in all different languages so you can read and listen to more about the history of the building. Highly recommended if you’re in Berlin and it’s an experience you don’t want to miss out on.

Very nice to visit in the summer. The sun is warm, the place around feels festive. There were lots of tourist and it was generally fun to look around and enjoy the sites. I joined a few tours and the history is very interesting too.

One of the popular sites in Berlin. Good photos are best during the day although there would be a lot of people. At night it’s less crowded. Next to the Tor is Tiergarten with war Memorial so if you love park walks you are covered as you learn about the history.

The world famous Brandenburg gate, living in Berlin I have visited this place on multiple occasion and it has always been a great experience. Be there t for a late night stroll or to see tulips bloom in April to celebration new year here. This magnificent gate symbolises the unity of east and West Berlin and a must visit if you are coming to Berlin.

The history is powerful and deep surrounding this iconic gate. Berlin: the story of a city is a great read for preparing to go and see the city of historic power. The square near the gate holds the American embassy, a star bucks, and a bunch of pickpockets, hustlers, and street performers working for a euro. The iconic buildings in the area have value in learning about prior to arrival too.

Great atmosphere although very busy first week of July. Plenty of places for a coffee and 5 minutes from the parliament building and the holocaust memorial. Definitely worth a visit.

From one side it’s just a huge, spectacular gate by a road. On the other you have loads of touristy stuff to see and do. This was the busiest of any of the tourist locations in Berlin but it wasn’t too busy (October visit).

Incredible monument that is much more intimidating and beautiful in person. A lot of history has passed through this gate and it’s easy to feel the weight of it when you’re there. It’s probably the most recognisable piece of Berlin and is naturally busy most of the day. You may find more space on Sunday afternoon or early in the morning.

The Berlin wall that kept Germany divided into east and west wings during the cold war era, also kept the people divided. The Berlin wall also ran through the Brandenburger Gate until 1989. Now all the bullet holes and tears are repaired and it has been restored to its formed glory. We passed through the same gate through which Napoleon passed after the battle of Jena. It is a combination of beauty and power.

Nice place, very clean, not many people (not like in front of Milan duomo for example), can enjoy pop songs played live for free 😸 Was interesting to see some peaceful demonstrations. I also went there on Sunday and could even sit on the bench and eat my lunch.

Another historical site not to be forgotten. The Wall was right there as well and there are the demarcation lines of the Wall that you would be able to see. Just be careful of those touts asking for assistance . It's a must visit attraction that you cannot miss 👍👍👍🙂

It’s hard to give a rating for a memorial like this. It has so much meaning to different people who have and will visit it. it’s very difficult to interpret the meaning of a rating and what it could imply a to something like this. Personally I found it quite a moving experience walking through the blocks and reading some of the information about various individuals. Walking between the blocks I felt strength, a unity of purpose and a statement that those who have been and will be persecuted have a voice, maybe not their own but none the less persecution can’t be hidden.

an installation of approximately 2700 concrete blocks all equally long but differently tall. I wasn't very impressed, perhaps because there were many people, some sitting or lying on top of the blocks. I know there is also an underground part but I haven't seen it.

What an amazing place. We certainly did not expect that. It is located between the mall of Berlin and the Brandenburg gate. You can also go underneath to know more about the story Kids loved it there since they can play hide and seek. Different from other attractions in Berlin that could be boring for kids.

What can I say. Breath taking, awe inspiring, thought provoking. It's just absolutely amazing to see how it's laid out and it really makes you see. If you get chance to have a guided walking tour, they will give you an insight on why it was built. All blocks are different and as you look across you can't see over the last one, this represents the neverending amount of Jews killed. Absolutely amazing to be there

Fantastic and moving free museum. No need to get the audio guide, as there was an abundance of text and information to read. Very informative, and does not shy away from any topics which is appreciated in a museum with a topic such as this one. My only issue was we had to wait outside in the sun for around 15 minutes before being let in, but it was very worth it. It also got very crowded in the beginning section, which is a narrow hallway. It was difficult to move ahead as you are at the whim of the people in front of you. I would recommend going at a less busy time. Overall not a perfect experience but very much a worthwhile and important one.

free entry. i was expecting to find a very respectful environment but there were groups of teenagers and school trips where they let them loose. it’s not a place to pose and pout, or play tag but each to their own i guess.

It feels wrong when the rating says "loved it", because obviously it's not something to love, but the place was so worth the visit. The museum was heartbreaking and difficult to go through, but the staff was lovely and making sure to follow the covid guidelines to keep their guests safe. My one wish is that they should put clear signs that what you can listen to on the phones are stories from survivors. I thought it would be audio of the information of the room since there was a lot of text in that room, but my sister decided to listen and told me what it was, so I could listen too, and those stories were the most heartbreaking and powerful ones there. Please put up some clearer signs so more people get to experience those stories. They're important.

The monument consists of “The Holocaust memorial” and underground museum. Strongly recommend to visit museum before entering the Memorial itself. Free entry, just 20-30minutes waiting time in a queue which is worth. Attn! Museum is not for children.

The Holocaust Memorial was created in 1999 to remember the Jews that were murdered enmass in Germany. It's a place of contemplation, a place of remembrance and warning. A great way to physically show the next generations the importance of history and why we should always learn from it. Situated actoss from the American embassy with blocks representing age of victims and the design intentionally disorientating once inside it in order to convey the fear experienced by the Jewish community it is dedicated to.

Entering the site, it is more impressive than how it looks from the outside. Once you are in the centre, you do feel more closed off from your surroundings.

Difficult to review this place, given the horrors that led to its very existence. It feels like an art installation, and despite signage pointing out the rules for visiting, there were still brainless morons who thought climbing on the memorial or running around playing hide and seek was acceptable. It's an impersonal monument. In spite of the considerable cost involved in creating it, it still feels like it's the absolute bare minimum to mark one of the worst events of the 20th Century. Please visit with mindfulness and respect.

It's difficult to review a memorial which only exists because of hatred in the past. It's an incredible monument and a lot, lot bigger than we expected. The only down side is, when you have a free entry monument somee people just don't seem to know how to act respectfully.

This memorial site build as a reminder for the murdered 6 millions Jewish victims in Europe duing the the world war II period. On the ground level, there are rows of concrete columns. In underground, its a free to public museum with informations and contributions relating to the fallen victims and their loved ones. There is a locker area to safekeep your belongings, and a small area for purchases related. The staffs and security are really friendly and polite as well.

A wonderful memorial and museum that is like nothing I have ever seen. Every stone is different and wandering along the rows not only captivates you but also disorientates you too. The museum is free for visitors and very interesting.

With the reunification of the two Germanys in 1990, it became possible to reunite the collection, which had been divided into east and west since 1945. Museum Island has been on UNESCO's World Heritage List since 1999.

There are so many museums to visit here. Each museum showcasing different cultures and exhibits. You need time to slowly walk through to appreciate the each museums. Can buy a pass to visit all rather than individual museum ticket.

Amazing architecture and the museums themselves are filled with history. They are refurbished enough though to look beautiful on the inside and to house other artwork and history related pieces. There is a pretty garden outside as well to enjoy the nice weather in the summer.

If you like culture this is the most perfect place for you!! The museums are all stunning - the Altes museum is very beautiful, sadly the first floor with the Roman artefacts wasn't open but the Greek section on the ground floor was beautiful. The gift shop is small and cute. The toilets are a bit dirty and run down though. The Neues museum is absolutely amazing - the rooms are so beautiful and the bust of Nefertiti is breathtaking. It has an incredible selection of Egyptian artefacts. Our tickets for the whole museum island were 12€ (student) and 24€ (non student). The gardens at the gallery are also very beautiful. The entire island is a really nice place to spend time at and it is beautiful overall!

Lovely architecture. Some of these museums had sections of free exhibits too! You might want to book your tickets early if you have specific exhibitions you want to check out. You can easily spend a whole day around this area if you enjoy visiting museums.

a nice stroll around the island is a must. there are people playing instruments, taking wedding pictures, having a picnic, and basically doing anything possible in an open space.

I was amazed at the size of this place with its museums. This is also one of Berlin’s attractions and if you have time, I would recommend going inside the museums to see the interesting historical collection of various items. Not sure if you can take photos inside, but there are plenty of great scenes outside where you can take really nice and amazing photos. The place is easily accessible by transport U Bahn Museumsinsel. However, on a fine day, you can walk from Potsdam Platz where you can see remains of the Berlin Wall, you can walk all the way to the Museum Island.

This island contains important landmarks and museums. Easy to reach it and to have a walk around. The museums are usually fully booked so it is recommended to buy tickets in advance.

Incredible museums, another must if you’re visiting Germany! The history and amount of statues, relics, and paintings they have is some of the largest in the world. Roman and Greek statues, were by far the best part. Berlin Dome was equally incredible. Beware you can by an all-in-one ticket for all museums which can save you a lot of money! Cafes in the museums were great too. Very walkable as well.

It would be easy to spend a month here looking at everything! Spoiled for choice! Galleries, museums, Christmas markets and historic architecture. We would love to return to take it at a leisurely pace.

3 stars only because it's not for everybody, it's an impressive collection but everything and everyone was in complete silence making it uncomfortable to look and share impressions if you are not alone. There's nothing interactive at all in the museum and after seeing 70% of everything, we just left because at the time all sculptures/paintings/objects were about religion christianity. There are lots of young people making studies about pieces as well. So it's definitely a place to study and reflect. Don't expect any tiny drop of fun. Nonetheless visit anyways, at least you can say, "i was there!"

Very beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere. Nice grassed area to sit and enjoy the view with lots of talented artists performing music and other shows. Tip: the first Sunday of every month is free to visit all museums but I would recommend booking online prior otherwise there will be a few hours waiting time or fully booked! I visited the Pergamon Musuem before it will be closed for renovations. Would definitely recommend. Very close to the island is some markets with some beautiful art and other goodies to buy or just admire.

A great historical place you must give a visit while you are in Berlin. You can reach easily by tram from the city center. There is a small museum also across the street. The only think i didn t like was the ugly graffiti in some parts of the remaining wall. I definitely recommend this place.

Five star rating as a recommended place to visit and it’s historical value. Bizarre yet surreal place to walk through, reflecting. Very well preserved and presented. Only a 5 minute walk from the holocaust memorial and checkpoint Charlie.

The Berlin Wall Memorial was very appropriate for the type of historic memorial to loss that it is. I appreciate the art installation of steel rods where visitors can pass through and see how the wall divides them and fellow tourists. I also appreciated the memorials to crossers who died seeking a better life. Thank you to the people who dedicated this memorial.

An interesting place to walk around. Remnants of the wall, there are areas marked out where old pavements were, the lights used to illuminate the wall to. The wall of photos etched on glass was poignant as it put faces to people who died trying to get over the wall. A place worth making an effort to visit

So much history here. While the wall is no longer there, some original parts were, and there were several signs with pictures and historical information on them to explain the wall. I love history, but even those who don’t can appreciate this. The signs are easy to follow, clearly written, and even tell interesting stories about certain people. Highly recommend visiting this spot if you go to Berlin.

Definitely a check off my bucket list. Access to the wall as well as historical info including the 3D maze, memorials and pictures of those who previously past away are free. It was amazing to to be so close to the remnants of the wall and have so much history right there in front of me.

One of the highlights of my trip to Berlin. Seeing a museum is one thing, but seeing a museum that serves as a physical reminder of what happened is another. This is a beautifully preserved historical remnant that retains enough history to give you a glimpse into the horrors of Cold War Berlin and enough context to understand how it happened. The stories of people along the Wall were particularly poignant.

This seems like a very accurate recreation of how the wall existed in its original form. With memorials for the fallen trying to cross, explanations of how the ‘kill zone’ worked and existed. Various stories of hearbreaking separation and tactics to stop eastern Berliners from escaping to the west. The Reconciliation sculpture is beautiful.

A bucket list place to visit. Actually much larger than you'd expect and filled with fabulous art. When you get to the end you are near a shopping centre which makes it very convenient to get something to eat at the end. The wall is full of art work and there is no way to do it any justice through photos. I've added a couple of photos of parts i particularly liked just to give the tiniest of ideas. If you go to Berlin then this is a must see.

Interesting place to discover the history of the walk. Push button system on pillars for audio and some video. Be careful of the gypsies trying to get money off you, scamming a petition to be signed for the deaf, for a few euros. No shame.

Really sad but a must visit. The thought of a wall going up through a city. Families and friends split up over night. One side prospers other side doesn’t have that luxury. Really sad. The scale of the wall is crazy and I could not imagine being there in the 60s, 70s and 80s. History can be a hard lesson to learn sometimes.

A very nice piece of German history. The pillars that have been placed show where the wall used to be, and clearly give a picture of the separation of these two parts. On the floors you will see red bricks showing the places where the tunnel used to be not so long ago. In certain places you can find small screens that are activated with a button and start playing a short film with useful content and difficult moments when citizens try to jump from the balcony in the hope of salvation. I definitely recommend to visit if you are visiting this city.

One can easily spend more than 2 hours here if interested. The collection is huge and enormous. Definitely one of the largest museums.The audio guide is very well designed. The Mesopotamian, Babylonian and Islamic collections are incredible. 12 euros for direct ticket bought at the museum. Online booking in advance could help.

Most of the artifacts come from ancient cities that I had been to before. Of course it is way more beautiful to see them in their own place. But I am starting to question how well they were going to be preserved if they were there, day by day.

An amazing historical museum which we were told will close for renovations next month and not be viewable for several years. Get tickets now if you can. We booked with a professional tour guide and were able to skip the lines. Well worth it!

Before the renovation, I had a chance to visit this astonishing amazing museum. If you’re interested in Aegean- Mediterranean archeology and history , here’s a must see for you. After visiting this museum I was so motivated to work more detailed at my art works. The color palette, combination of motifs and geometry of Islamic artworks are very unique and different than European ones. I was so glad to be able to experience different art movements at the Museum Island. Don’t skip these museums when you’re in Berlin.

To apreciate this museum you must and some history of it's exhibits. It's been a long time since i visited it, but it will stay in my memory forever! But it would be more suitable to see this exhibits in their home countries!

A lot of interesting ancient materials. Not only the main attraction, Babylon, is quite nice, but also other Ancient temples and materials are really enriching. Upstairs you can also find a lot of Arabic things which are very cool. 100% recommended. If you buy your tickets online, you avoid every single time of waiting 😊

I spend 3 hours in the museum. I wanted to see the whole place before they close it for renovation, so I took my time. I got the audioguide and went through the entire museum listening to each recording. It was a great way to see all the exhibits and I recommend doing that if you have time.

Not a bad place. Not too big but enough to see. Pictures attached. It has very good disability access and the staff are very friendly. You need to leave your bags in lockers and need a euro or a 2 euro coin, which is returned after you take your stuff back out. Very bright and airy. Great perspective with the life size exhibits. Worth a visit but it isn't free.

A definite must-see when in Berlin. The descriptions of everything are in English and German. It was a bit disappointing that the Pergamon Altar was closed when we went, but we knew that in advance. It was well worth the ticket costs regardless. You could easily spend an entire day there, but we had tickets to other museums as well for the day, so we were only there for about 2.5 hours. I understand why it’s so controversial. It’s sad to know other cultures lost pieces of their history for these things to be here. However, it’s definitely worth the time and money to see such a well preserved collection of history from around the world, no matter your feelings on it. Such a cool place to learn about history of many different cultures!

It’s great museum to get insights about ancient life and culture. It contains very rich exhibitions. The museum is very beautiful inside and outside. Prepare to spend around one-two hours here. Better to buy tickets in advance as possible to meet long queues. Definitely mast see place in Berlin and inside of Museum Island. And better to visit Pergamonmuseum Panorama in the same time.

Wow! You need to go to the Panorama exhibition first which is only 10 minutes away to get the full impact of this museum. Whilst I believe artefacts should remain in their original location I have to confess that having the opportunity to see the tiles, freezes and the temple was terrific. I am in awe of the skills required by the stonemasons to produce such wonderful work. You need to book your time as they sell out very quickly and restrict numbers. Worth purchasing the Berlin Welcome card which includes museums on museum Island and transport. The Panorama Exhibition was extra.

A must visit museum in Berlin. Museum has so much collection of historical antique items. Ishtar gate is the main attraction and it's beautiful and huge. Also the Roman market fascade is huge and it's well preserved in museum. Audio guide helps in getting the information easily about all the artifacts. Very much recommended museum in Berlin.

One of the most interesting museums I have ever been to. Would surely recommend to anyone who likes history. Alot to learn and much beauty to admire. It took us about 3 hours without rushing and we were able to walk through all the exhibits. TIP: Make sure to carry an A4 size bag if you would like to carry some water or any thing else inside with you. There is a coat check area and lockers for bigger bags. You just need 1-2 Euro to access them which you can get back at the end of your tour. Enjoy!

It was amazing museum. I wish we could see the sculptures in origin locations. But the museum is good idea to protect them. My advise that you should take your ticket before the visiting day. Because you couldn’t find any ticket in same day. It takes nearly two hours.

A wonderful museum, not so big, but very well organized. It contains a lot of unique collectibles and antiquities, and they have a very wonderful gift shop. The special thing about this museum is that many of the important antiquities were originally stolen and they claim that these pieces were purchased from some merchants or owners, but what I cannot understand is: Who owns the Ishtar Gate!! They make millions of euros every month from possessions that do not even belong to them.

A very nice museum. However, since reducing in size, it was very crowded inside. Even though it's necessary to book a time slot, it seems that these slots are still very full, so it was a bit overwhelming with how many people were inside at one time. The islamic culture section was really beautiful, and the main halls too of course. I can recommend it for the price and the culture for sure!

The artifacts were amazing, it’s worth the visit. Though my experience with asking for information was not that pleasant. I asked the lady at the counter where i could get a ticket and she showed me a very ling queue that if one sees it, would be discouraged to join in the line which actually happened to me. But nevertheless i decided to take the chance which was good because then after halfway through the line i saw some people just going past the line and i wondered where they were going. Then I realized that the line i was in was not even for buying the tickets it was for those who had tickets already and they were queuing to get in. So I walked towards the front and that’s where i was ablevto see the counter for buying tickets. I was told that the tickets were sold out for the time frame iwas there then so i had to come back the next day for a 13:30 slot. This confusion could have been avoided if the information counter lady had guided me accordingly. I wasted so much time for this museum but good thing i had the time but for those who doesn’t, please be aware that the long queue is not for buying the ticket. Another thing is that when i was about to enter the museum, there i was told that i had to place my backpack in the locker in the lower lobby so at this point i lost my place in the queue again good thing i still saw where i stood last. I would have expected a more professional handling of the flow of museum visitors in such a popular destination. Better signs and competent staff

Have been here countless times and I am glad to see the frequency is picking up again after the pandemic. Lots of hotels, restaurants, coffee places in walking distance, a giant movie theatre at the nearby SONY centre (where you may run into a a premiere with a Hollywood star from time to time) and easy access via public transportation make this one of the countless Berlin highlights for both visitors and local residents. I highly recommend coming here with a coffee to go and take a stroll around.

Nice place to hang out with a lot of places to eat, cafe, restaurants and a cinema. Also during winter time they set up a Christmas market with a slide, Glühwein and more fun stuff.

We went there for the architectural part and we loved it. There are 3 glass-office buildings and the main square is incredible, specially went they turn in the lights.

This central plaza has a few panels of the Berlin Wall as an educational symbol for the Cold War and a reminder of people who lost their lives and their freedom during 1961-1989. “Imagine” by John Lennon rings in your mind! 🙏🙏🙏

Another historical place in Berlin. It used to be one of the busiest plazas in Europe. Later, it was destroyed during WWII and then completely abandoned during Cold War as Berlin Wall crossed it.

Excellent museum. There is so much information that we never knew. It's really in-depth and so many personal stories which are very sad but glad they are told. Helped me to understand what it was really like in Berlin back in ww2. It was one of the best museums we have been to in Berlin. Make sure you give yourself enough time to walk around as it's not a quick museum.

Typography of Terror was an enlightening display of the history of WW2. It was very well presented in English and German with a very thorough audioguide in many other languages. I couldn’t help but think how challenging it must have been for German historians to honestly retell the horrors their country and leadership inflicted on their own people and their neighbours.

Museum of World War II, which has free admission. Very informative and a great outside exhibit as well. Also, there’s a large stretch of the original wall on the location. It could be done in an hour if you don’t read everything otherwise you could spend a good part of the day there if you’re a reader of all the things in the museum.

Another symbol of world war 2!! It puts things into perspective when you read the history of "The Berlin Wall" 🧱 It truly was an awful time, so much cruelty. Things were done, that's dehumanizing! I often wonder 🤔 what the young people think when you see them here looking at all the History.

This was by far the most informative place to visit and gives one a total overview of the history of Berlin, both pre and post war. It's also free, making it well worth the time spent there.

Topography of terror, a museum and a memorial, that provides a written information with photographs or you can take an audio guide, that tells about the horror times in our history. Around that place you can see the crushed stones. It was mentioned in the audio guide, that this kind of place should never be covered by grass with time. People should not forget it and must never let it happen again.

Such an experience, so well done. Worth visiting if only to see the outside displays and a large section of the Berlin Wall but the exhibition inside is well worth visiting if you have time.

FANTASTIC! This is a free museum where you will learn in an excellent detail the history of Germany and Europe during Hitler dominance. Real photos, with a fantastic gallery. This was just fantastic! I bought a book due to feeling like that I needed to know more.

A Great History of the Nazi era in Germany from 1933 to 1945. There are two museums at this location ,one outside and the other inside . The outside one is covered partially by a polycarbonate roof.The inside museum There are a lot of permanent exhibitions displayed in this large museum. At the entrance to this museum, there is a section of the old Berlin Wall still standing here. A great place to visit if you are interested in the history of the Third Reich.

Beautiful and diverse paintings on a piece of history, really fun to see, very picturesque, and for free! My only issue was how touristy it was there but I suppose that's to be expected from such a notable place. What I appreciate, though, was how respectful other people were when taking pictures - they'd politely wait until you took your pictures and only then they would walk by. Very nice! Another detail I liked about the wall was that there were names of the paintings and artists written in front of the paintings.

The Topography of Terror Museum in Berlin is split into five parts, showing how the Nazis rose to power, created a police state, persecuted different groups, waged war, and what happened afterward. It covers the years from the early 1930s to the end of World War II, making it easy to follow the historical events. The exhibits give a clear picture of the harsh realities of that time, serving as a reminder of the terrible things that occurred.

A very sobering dive into the history of the Nazis and what they did with lots of photographs and excellent narration via mobile app (headphones recommended) . What I took away from this was that the Nazis where not evil demons that were not of this world. They were ordinary people who did very terrible things with a lot of other people turning a blind eye. The photographs of SS Guards smiling while taking a break were the most chilling for me, it showed a complete lack of humanity.

This place is very educational. I learned a lot. You just need some time, reading all, if not some of the text on the wall/board. It also seemed so quiet on this place. The museum is free of charge.

A fine museum, with many important painters like Caravaggio, Rafael, Durer, Bruegel, van Dyck. Themes were repetitive due to the periods - mostly biblical paintings. The Flemish area instead give a throw back to the daily life of 17-18 century.

Great place for art lovers and lovers of renaissance art and oil paintings. Students get half price off. If not a student, I am unsure whether this is a gallery worth visiting to pay full price for unless you are a true art enthusiast.

It is a really nice place to visit. However when purchasing the tickets the clerk doesn’t tel you what mask you wear. Upon entering we had to change our masks twice because they wouldn’t accept other types of masks even though they were the same they themselves were using.

The museum is brilliant and has many great pieces of art. You can find Botticelli, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Vermeer and even Bruegel there. I have spent around three or four hours watching them and exposition of Donatello which is showing the born of Renaissance. But the minus I hate (which was also in the national art gallery of Berlin) is that there is was no any tablets below/next to the paintings and sculptures where I could find out information about the history of a painting or it’s description.

Amazing gallery with focus on religious paintings. They have permanent and temporary exhibitions. We visited the main exhibition, the last day of van Eyck, beginning of collaboration between Berlin and Odessa galleries and movie posters. All of them were amazing. This gallery participates in Museumsontag.

The Painting Gallery has a rich number of valuable collections. My friend and I spent 4 hours there and still couldn't finish the round tour. Some paintings only have German descriptions, so renting an audio guide is very helpful

It's a really good gallery. Temporaly exhibitions are the best because they have English translation. And the permanent exhibition is on german. There are some descriptions on English but not so much. But here you can see many beautiful pictures.

Very impressive collection of paintings with lot of Dutch painters too. First part is mostly religious painting. The museum is not usually crowded.

One of the best classic picture galleries in the world for the quality, the scope and the variety of its holdings. Italian, Dutch, German and French renaissance and Baroque art is very well depicted with some English and Spanish school’s examples. In the other hand the museum really needs a makeover. Picture tags are in German only, there’s a lack of information and context, plus the place feels antiquated.

One of the world’s most fascinating collections, a truly encyclopedic and unique collection of masterpieces across European painting epochs north and south of the Alps. Some collections may be larger, some collections may be more bombastic, but what marks the Berlin museum as exemplary is its crisp, cool, unassailable dedication to presenting masterpieces one after the other across 2km of interior wall. Powerful, mesmerizing, quiet, confident. Museums don’t get more sophisticated than this.

Brilliant collection. Reach of excellent masterpieces museum at the moment ( July 2023) hold a temporary exhibition of Hugo van der Goes - that blew my mind. Highly recommend if you love Early and High Renaissance, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Cranach, Botticelli, Bruegel - just to name a few.

I found the gallery to be a bit disappointing - I came for the pictures they advertised on their website (landscapes and still-life) but what I mostly found were some portraits. One couldn't bring a backpack to the gallery which was annoying (though understandable) because I got dehydrated there because of that. The gallery was bigger than I expected but surprisingly there wasn't that many people. I appreciated that one could use the restrooms without leaving the exposition entirely. It was also nice that there was lots of benches, and names of the paintings written both in German and English. Would have appreciated a bit of info about the paintings written next to them as well (hopefully in English). The staff there was nice, although not everyone's English was the best. I liked the small shop there and the view from the gallery.

Beautiful retelling of the German history, with interesting details, provided you have enough time. Entry is free for the underaged and the different exhibitions vary over time. Only issue I had was that you seemingly can't visit the permanent exhibition during holidays, which only left two smaller ones for me.

They told me that the Germany History part is going to be closed for the next five years. Five years!! Be aware of that before going (there is clear information outside, but I found nothing related to that before going). I saw the temporary exposition of Marx and well, little information or novelty. I liked the building more than the exposition. With the German History part closed I think is not worth the visit even though it was pretty cheap.

Beautiful museum to visit. And wonderful Architecture. 7 to 10 Euro tickets and you need to leave your jackets and bags. Cloakroom is free of charge and on lower ground floor. Toilet facilities on same level. It worth spending time. You can book tickets online so you don't need to wait on queue to purchase one?

The German Historical Museum, known by the acronym DHM, is a museum in Berlin, Germany devoted to German history. It describes itself as a place of "enlightenment and understanding of the shared history of Germans and Europeans. On Berlin Museums Sunday, every first Sunday of the month admission is free. The personnel is very nice and there was no queue. Current exhibition “Roads not taken” was a disappointment for me, it is constructed in a very strange way, inconvenient to read and to move around. The idea of exploring different historical paths is captivating, but the way it is organised in this museum, with only dry facts presented:( Plus a weird printing.. €3,5 for a student.

While the main building, the Zeughaus (armoury) undergoes renovation, only the newer areas are visitable. However they are well worth it - the last 200yrs of German history is a great exhibition well set up and conceived and the current exhibition on songwriter Wolf Biermann is excellent.

The museum is currently renovating, and the ordinary exhibition is closed. Currently they have 2 mini exhibitions, which is about German History from 1848 - 1991 and integration between Germany, Poland and France. It’s a bit disappointing as the mini exhibition is really small, and you can generally finish it within 1 - 1.5 hrs. However, there are still numerous of interesting items worth to take a look. Look forward the renovation work finish and revisit in the future.

Very interesting and creative exhibition about the « Fall of Berlin wall » It’s very interesting to understand German History from 1912 to 1989. I really enjoyed it!!

I went on free museum Sunday, an awesome opportunity! I went to two exhibits, one that gave a really comprehensive timeline of Germany. I was a little confused on how to walk through the exhibit but it was still really interesting. Even though there were a lot of people it was designed so that it was easy to read the information and see the whole exhibit. The other exhibit was about a German poet and songwriter. Also really interesting, with a lot of details about the events and lots of neat things to look at and listen to. One of the best things about this museum was the effort to make it more accessible. There were some booths with raised areas so you could feel artwork, and a lot of the exhibit could be read or listened to, and I believe much of it was available in Braille as well.

One of the only 2 current exhibitions "The Roads Not Taken" is a huge letdown! It was sold as an exhibition exploring the "what-if's" of some of the most major turning points in history. But 95% of the facts presented was what actually happened, each of the 14 turning points only had 1 small square of lackluster attempt at a what-if: "okay if this didn't happen, then it means the opposite did", without any further speculation on what might have been. One of the what-if's wasn't even a what-if's, they just relayed what actually happened. Then the main selling point of the exhibition is the simulation to participate in the alternative timeline was broken - per the photo attached. This exhibition had so much potential but came with a botched implementation. We do not recommend this!

First of all, if you want the full experience you won't be able due to some reparations they are doing now. According to them, it will be ready in 2024, so the only exposition available is downstairs. This exposition contains some of the Cold War and 2nd World War documentation. Pretty interesting if you like this kind of subject. At the end of the exposition there is a videogame, point and click type of game. You can also play it at home. Unfortunately there is not much to see here.

There were only two floors with exhibits due to current renovations. But it was still informative and interesting enough with minimal material.

The view is amazing!! The place is very organized and all staff working there very polite. I did not spend much time in the line to buy the ticket and take the lift. The price is a little expensive and if you don’t visit the restaurant you might spend 1 hour for the tour max. For sure it is a very nice place to visit!

Ticket costs about 21 euros but the experience is well worth the cost. You can download a tiny app to your smart phone for an enhanced experience. On a clear day you can see a long ways in every direction. Helpful signs inform you about things of interest. A restaurant and bar are available as well as a clean bathroom.

One of the great experience in Berlin so far. There was a queue when we arrived but with in time we ready to go because we purchased online ticket. After visiting clock room, into the elevator and up 203m high in 40 seconds😳. It was a scary but interesting at the same time. What a lovely day it was so the views were incredible. Lots of info all around to assist with the viewing. It was incredible when you can have bird eye view of whole Berlin city from just on place. Then we been lil up more to the bar and revolving restaurant for a drink which was great. Lovely and cool staff and they also do a few special cocktails. Would definitely recommend this if you’re in Berlin. Even your Berlin tour is not complete if you never visit this TV tower.

The tower offered a really lovely panoramic view of Berlin. We went at night, but did not feel like we've missed anything, as there is an app that shows what exactly you're looking at and gives you more information (you can even see where the entire Berlin Wall was located!). The elevator ride was really smooth and fast, considering the height of the tower.

Great experience to see the Berlin city view from the top of the tower and that too from a very good height. The view from the elevator while reaching at the top was quite stunning and spectacular. One can also buy souvenirs from the ground floor. There is a restaurant at the top floor but it was closed at that time. If you have a very less time to see Berlin then from this tower one can see almost everything that he/she has missed.

For 25 euros I was able to visit the observation platform (200 meters high). On a clear day the view is fantastic. I would recommend to make an online reservation to avoid the long lines.

Amazing views from this iconic structure. A fast lift carries you to the viewing deck, with window on top of the lift to see the rate of ascent! Views guided by an informative series of pictures mapping out key locations and buildings. Bar area is part of the viewing gallery. The sky restaurant is the level above. Tickets can be bought in advance or from a machine at the entrance, with an entry time linked to the ticket number. Queue for the lift to get up and down did take a while but there was no pressure to rush once up there, and you could take as long as you wanted to enjoy the view.

Iconic place in Berlin, a must-see if you're around. Without thinking about the iconic status, the price could be a bit better, it's 25€ for the most basic ticket. Booking online is highly recommended because the lines can get long and they have time slots. When entering the building you're presented with a large area with some stairs that goes into the elevators and some plaques explaining the history of this tower, construction and purpose. The lifts are very quick (you feel it in your ears) and take roughly 8-10 people at the time and there's 2 of them. Basically the waiting time to board them is quite short but always dependent on how many people are in line. Once you arrive at the top you're greeted with stunning 360 ° views of the city and because you're way up there, you'll see past the city as well. In every window there's a plaque with photos detailing what you're seeing with a brief explanation of each landmark/building. There's also a restaurant one floor above and a bar which are great additions to this place. Highly recommend!

Nice view from Berlin. It has inidications of important points, but some are really far and you can't actually see them very clear. Is not expensive to go to the top. I haven't gone to the bar or restaurant although. Also, it always has a lot of people, so you have to wait a little some time to get a space to have a nice view or be able to read the explanations.

A fabulous visit to the restaurant at the top of the tower. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was really exciting to enter with a great feeling both of going back in time to the 1970s and also visiting the future! The views are amazing and the food was really good too. 90 minutes is plenty of time although we were allowed to stay longer as our table wasn’t booked by anyone else so we could squeeze in desert! We all had a great time creating lots of happy memories together.

We walked a lot during our visit to Berlin. Of course, you can't miss the 368-meter tower called the Berliner Fernsehturm. It was opened in 1969. It has an extremely beautiful view of Berlin from the viewing gallery. There is also a restaurant here.

We booked a window seat in advance at the restaurant which gave us the great views in the spinning restaurant (full cycle in 30 minutes). We had a decent meal to go along with 90 minutes or so of great evening views across Berlin. Well worth going to and i would book the restaurant again. We were able to go to the viewing platform on the floor below as part of the experience, but busier times this may not be allowed.

Despite this place probably being overrated I really enjoyed my time here, so much that I can’t not give it five stars. The historic significance of this place and all the little details that they’ve added made it a really cool experience. Also make sure to checkout the museum gift shop, best souvenir gift shop I’ve seen in a long time

Checkpoint Charlie was one of the most iconic border crossings between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, and for good reason. The site is well-maintained and informative, and it provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Berlin Wall. The museum at Checkpoint Charlie is a great place to learn about the history of the border crossing. There are exhibits on the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, and the people who tried to cross the border illegally. There is also a replica of the guardhouse that was used by the Americans. Outside the museum, there is a large concrete slab that marks the former border between East and West Berlin. You can also see the watchtowers that were used by the East German border guards. Had a nice time visiting this place. Being a history fan, I have seen this place in movies like The man from U.N.C.L.E , so visiting it by real gave me some goosebumps. It was great lurking around and reading history stuff written on the walls in the surrounding areas. Visit this place peacefully so you have time to relaxedly read all the details and boardings nearby!

Definitely one of the top places in Berlin to visit. It is basically an outdoor monument. You can visit anytime of day or night. There are several museums in the area if you want to learn more. We had some great photo opportunities. And it was interesting to learn about this site. Consider visiting before or after other things open if you have no interest in the museums.

Amazing piece of American history! I highly recommend making the stop. Just to the left of the first picture is an incredible gift shop where you can buy literature describing more of the events.

Surreal place to visit being so infamous and significant to Berlin. Visit the outside of the black box museum on the junction as loads of photos through the times of checkpoint Charlie. We also visited the Einstein cafe which was hugely significant in cold war days. Right on the opposite junction to the black box museum.

Having the opportunity to witness the theater of operations of the cold war is undoubtedly one of the main attributes that Berlin offers for those interested in history. The city has preserved these places that are very important for the history of the city, the country and the world. The entire site is very detailed with a lot of information for those interested in knowing the German perspective of this piece of world history.

Interesting place to visit linked to the history of Germany. Do visit the black box on the corner. It has all interesting facts and stories about the time of cold war

An iconic part of Berlin's history- very busy area with tourists so may need to wait to get photo taken at the hut. Lots of information boards around the area and photos from before the fall of the wall. Lots of touristy souvenir shops in area and the Checkpoint hsrlie Museum ( very worth a visit!)

OK it’s a tourist trap and quite expensive but they do have some interesting exhibits and certainly have a lot of details around the wall and Cold War. My only issue is that it’s a bit hiddeldy piggeldy, stuff about the 60s next to the current Ukraine conflict and then back to the 80s then something else. Needs to be in chronological order or subject matter to make sense.

the souvenir shop as seen in the photographs is awesome, the museum is a joke. fifteen bucks (another additional five for a less-than-useful audio guide) for a couple of rooms filled with enough script to simply publish a book for the same price at the door. the whole exhibition is very outdated.

A very in depth museum. There is a lot of information on the horrors of war and destruction as well as some gripping stories about life during the wall. For anyone wanting to learn about the history of the Berlin Wall this is an important place to visit.

Skip it! I do not recommend this museum. If you do go, do not pay the $5 required for a picture license, it's a waste of money. It is a really expensive museum in a city that has great museums with much better exhibits. Unfortunately there was little to no thought on how visitors want to absorb information. They need to find a curator who can organize and reduce the amount of "stuff" they have. It's difficult to stay engaged with the material despite it being such an interesting topic. Also, the toilets they had available were poorly maintained and didn't have toilet paper. Overall, I was unimpressed.

Great museum detailing events after the end of World War II and beyond the fall of the Berlin Wall including the recent conflicts in Syria and Ukraine. Although the Checkpoint Charlie area has become a bit of a tourist trap it is still well worth visiting due to the vast amount of information. Very informative, you can easily spend way over an hour in here.

I do not recommend going here. It is literally all text on walls that you can also find on Wikipedia. As a German I can say, this is a tourist trap and Berlin has much better museums to offer.

There was too much to see. Hard to find the interesting things. Too much to read (a LOT of text) before the heat (bad ventilation) made your knees weak.

More expensive than anything else in the city. The exhibition is rather ild style, can use a refresh, especially on the narrative, which is a bit absent, it is rather a sequence of stuff. Paradoxically the shop is much more modern, well lit and organized. The feeling is that the museum needs to be reformed heavily, but the contant and the memorabilia it contains are worth.

This was a small museum. It was €17.50 for and adult and €9.50 for a child to get in. This price was more than the rest of our sightseeing for the day combined. There were some items related to Checkpoint Charlie and features on a few individual people. There was a good portion of the museum dedicated to new injustice in the world, including the war in Ukraine. We did not read every single display but felt we saw the whole museum in about an hour.

One of the best museums I've ever been to. We're actually coming back tomorrow! So engaging, and every detail is carefully designed and deeply evocative. I would skip the Berlin Wall Museum and come here instead.

The Jewish Museum Berlin is a must visit and should be a must reason to even visit Berlin. While there is an admission fee the audio guide is free if you download the app. We spent over 2 hours visiting this museum and still did not fully experience all there is to offer. The building's architecture is a very critical part of the experience and the emotion one feels throughout the visit. Whether you begin or end your visit one must enjoy the café.

Wow such a fascinating museum! Standing in the holocaust room I felt suffocated and longed for freedom and hope. Can you imagine back then! I felt enriched and grateful for everything after the museum visit. So much to see and learn about the Jewish culture, art, religion, history and community! Highly recommended!

Wow! What a unique building. Amazing architecture. You really get a sense of being lost and emptiness. There’s no much light coming in and the walls are cold from concrete. There’s a room called the void - weird but remarkable as art. Really a place worth seeing when in Berlin!

Very interesting place of Jewish history, naturally with a big emphasis on the holocaust. Terrifying facts about how humanity is capable of straying from the path of compassion and dignity with unbearable consequences. The entrance was free which makes very good sense considering the importance of remembering the atrocities of the past in an increasingly ignorant future.

An important thing to see, it was interesting that it had so much focus about learning about the Jewish religion (not just solely focused on the Holocaust), which is important. The Room of Lose (probably got the name wrong) is very powerful.

Good overview of Jewish people living in Germany through the ages. Light on Holocaust history though still well done and worth a visit. Very good art collection. Bonus is the garden and free comfy garden chairs. And free phone charger. Very well thought out museum pretty much a must see on a visit to Berlin.

Considering the place is free to visit, it worths. The building has an amazing architecture. It spans across 3 floors. Lifts are also available. The staff are polite and helpful. At the entrance , you should take the ticket(which is free). There are free cloak rooms available to keep the jacket and bags(it's not allowed inside). You can see some video shows, artifacts, paintings and so on. Also can read some history. Theres a Hebrew language section where you can write your name in English and see how it is displayed in Hebrew. I would say, its unique architecture is mind-blowing. People who are really interested in history and architecture should visit this place. Not an ideal place for kids. Eatery is available but with limited options.

Tremendously rich Museum with unusual Features Such as The listening booths where you can hear Jewish synagogue services sung buy a wide variety of cantors you can choose. Entrance is free at least on the weekends but there is a pretty long wait especially if you have larger handbags, backpacks or umbrellas which need to be checked.

Really nice and informative museum. Kids enjoyed the interactive parts of the museum and they were very engaged during their stay. It can be a bit overwhelming with all the information about the history, and at least for us we were missing some structure as how to approach all of this information. However it didn’t affect our whole impression of the museum.

Pretty decent but very warm.. Does not appear to have aircon. Lots of lifting of heavy flaps to peer at info. Trabant driving simulator not working. Certainly very informative and did explain several facts that were puzzling us about the division after the war.

If you are curious about the old East Germany, you should definitely see it. You should see how life was, how propaganda was. The museum design is very good. Interactive screens come out of the cabinets and drawers. The simulation of driving around the streets of Germany is nice, but I wish the old technology would do VR or something. Be sure to see it. If you have a Berlin card, you can travel at a discount.

Excellent museum, just opposite museum island. €13 entry, was good value as there is so much here to do. Lots of interactive and thought provoking displays. You could get in the Trabant and pretend to drive it. Brilliant mock up a typical DDR flat in Berlin, with a scary lift experience too! Lots of flaps to lift, plenty of information in English. Nice toilets too.

It is a very cool museum, and they present the history very interactively. Absolutely worth to visit if you are interested in the history of Berlin and the East German socialism. If you are interested in motorcycles, you can even buy the combined ticket with the DDR motorcycle museum (it is a smaller one, but they have some nice old pieces).

Very cool museum that explains the history of the former DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik), or East Germany. Visitors can sit in and try to steer an iconic Trabant car. Recreated living quarters help transport visitors back in the past to show what life was like back then. The museum also touches upon the authoritarian nature of the DDR, showing what a cell in a Stasi prison looked like and information about interrogation practices.

We enjoyed visiting the museum. Approx 13 euro entry fee. Some interesting artifacts & a Trabant! No MZ motorcycle which surely is an oversight . . . We enjoyed the film show, interesting posters & looking at the variety of period correct rooms. On the way out there's a gift shop. You can even buy a little piece of the Berlin wall!!

A really interesting museum covering life in East Berlin and a world of 40+ years ago. Quite enjoyable and well worth a visit if you have time. Use of Berlin card to reduce cost was also helpful.

I spent 1h and a half at the castle but could have spent more. The palace is beautiful, it’s sad to read about all the destruction it went through though. Some of the rooms could not be rebuilt to their original as there were no pictures or records of what they used to look like.

A very beautiful place. And the price is also good for what you can see. The palace itself was very big and the story that you can listen with it through headphones really gives a good image of how it was in the past. Also the garden was insanely big and very beautiful to see. A really bucketlist thing if you're in Berlin.

Charlottenburg Palace and its surroundings are gorgeous! Opulent architecture and excellent condition considering a major part of it was damaged during WWII. Real baroque beauty. Easiest is if you book tickets in advance, we did not wait at all to get in! A must-see cultural treasure.

Beautiful Historic architecture. A must visit place for people who love photography, and silence. The Park which is just in front (or behind) the Palace is so beautiful. There are a lot many seats to sit, and during Spring the Park is full of colourful flowers. The place is really nice, and worth visiting. Keep in mind, the Palace is quite far from the S Bahn, a bus needs to be taken to reach the Palace.

Very elaborate- only viewed 1 wing in the old palace and 2 floors in the new which had amazing massive ballrooms. The gardens were in full bloom.

When my wife and I visited Berlin, we walked to Charlottenburg Palace. The palace was built at the end of the 17th century. . A century later, however, it was greatly expanded. It contains a lot of luxurious interior decoration and is a joy to look at.

It’s about half an hour from the Brandenburg gate and there are bus stops right outside this pretty palace. At 12 euros it was the most expensive tourist attraction we visited but for that, you can explore the majority of the insides. The outside and the gardens are free. Your entry price gives you an audio guide which was very good and the information was interesting without being too long and over detailed. Visiting the house helped us understand the history of the area much better

Brilliant audio tour around countless rooms, most of which are furnished. We spent many hours here so great value for money! Photography not allowed in many of the rooms in the main Palace but more relaxed in exhibitions and other areas. We bought tickets that included entry to 3 separate areas including old and new Palace and pavilion. Entry to the garden is free.

Beautiful! Came on a snowy day and spent a while enjoying the Christmas market outside. Still need to come back to go into the castle itself though! Also would love to see it in summer

Beautiful zoo animals. Friendly employees, beautiful paths the new predator house is very nice, penguins, giraffes,... Very nice facilities. Several gastronomic facilities invite you to take a break. Feeding times of the animals are on the map and can be found on the net. Also if you want to visit the aquarium make sure to get a combined ticket. But it was a time well spend also the ticket prices were good enough! Buying online is good option rather to wait in queue.

Well designed and lot of open spaces to the animals. We stayed there for 6 hours and have to rush through to complete all areas. They do have a sea lion show but it was OK, not the best of the shows. Still, a good place to spend a day with family.

It's amazing that such a large zoo can exist in the heart of a city. There were so many different animals to see, even after 4 hours I still missed some things. The zoo has a very pleasant cafe/restaurant area with good food and a really nice seating area. The zoo is pretty large so be prepared to walk. Also be aware that the aquarium next door is not part of the zoo and requires a separate admission. The zoo grounds are also very well kept and just as much worth looking at as the animals

Amazing zoo! You'll need at least 5 or 6 hours to get through MOST of it. It's the smaller zoo, but it's still quite big. Some enclosures seemed to be roomy enough, others the animals seemed stressed because it was a small enclosure. The grounds were well kept, and it was VERY clean. Plenty of shade, snacks and animals.

Family, F(31) M(30) toddler (20months) Visited just before Christmas and was expecting the zoo to be busy - far from it! We had basically the place to ourselves. Many of the cafes etc were closed for winter season, but the central restaurant was open, offering delicious German food and snacks... (and English alternatives for fussy eaters!) There are a couple of children's playgrounds too. Toilet and baby change facilities were clean and easy to find. Reasonably priced for a family day out. We spent a good 5 hours looking around with a stop for lunch. Lots of great animals that you can get up close to. Also easy to travel to with a train station literally across the road. We bought the joint ticket with admission to the Aquarium. This was a nice addition on a rainy day and our toddler loved it.

Enjoyed about 2 hours of walking around this zoo in early March 2022. On one hand it was nice, on the other hand it was challenging seeing these wild animals stuck for our viewing pleasure. Anyways, it was a beautiful layout, easy to see everything in a couple hours, and a great break in the afternoon from several days of meetings.I can imagine once Spring sets in how beautiful it will be. Really enjoyed the seals!

There are plenty of places to eat inside. It is very organize and friendly for the kids. There is an amazing playground inside. It is pretty easy to walk with the stroller. I will recommend to check the website to see the eating times of the animals and I will highly recommend to buy the tickets online to enter as soon as you arrive. During the weekends is always full but at the weekdays is always nice to go to the playground or walk around. There is also a nice Store at the exit to get some nice souvenirs

The zoo have variety with great day to spend with family or friends, lovely place for kids, a must place to visit in Berlin in any weather. Has multiple options for eating as well. Has penguins as well. Really an mixed variety, I recommend to buy Zoo + Aquarium Ticket. Aquarium is also amazing with multiple fishes In total a very good place to spend your time, kids are certainly going to love the experience..

I really enjoyed walking around this zoo in the nice weather this week, and the animals seemed happy overall. I would highly recommend checking out the night time exhibit under the tigers and other cats along with the panda exhibit! The aquarium is definitely worth a visit to check out the jellyfish too!

A very big zoo right in heart of the city Berlin. We visited the place on Wednesday afternoon. It was not so busy...very small line for ticket, not very crowded inside also. There are lots of birds and animal inside the zoo and the facility to accommodate them is also very good. As a result one has to walk too much to vist all of them. Detail map is there to help you understand the lay out of the zoo. Some of the cages were empty as some renovation work was going on or some animals were not available at that point of time but such were very less instances considering the size of the zoo. So no complaints on that front. It took almost 3.5 hours to finish it without visiting aquarium(They charge it separately for aquarium). Overall good experience especially for children they were excited to see so many different species of animal. Do recommend it. But be prepared to walk. Enjoy.

We were so fortunate to have such a beautiful sunny day! And the best part? We didn't even have to wait in line to buy a ticket at the entrance. We spent a good half of the day there, and let me tell you, it's absolutely massive! You definitely need some time to explore everything, but trust me, it's totally worth it. It felt like a therapeutic experience to see all those incredible animals, and they looked so vibrant and healthy. It's clear that they are being taken excellent care of. Without a doubt, I'll be visiting again in the future.

The 3 stars because the visit was in winter. Else could had been easily 4 stars. Located in heart of Berlin. Yet so close to nature. Avery convenient to reach with public transportation. A perfect getaway for family and especially kids. You get glimpse of wild animals. During sunny summer days visit there would be a treat. However, during winters it was just not that great. It was chilly windy day. Mostly the animals were in their shelters and we hardly sighted anything there. The full entry tickets were just not justified in my opinion, should be reduced for such seasons. Only for that reason would say, 3 stars. Hope we visit back in Summer and possibly few more stars, if we get better glimpses.

That was really nice to spend time there, my husband and I enjoyed a lot! We visited different animals! And in a very interesting atmosphere! That’s very nice!👍 It’s big enough and many different places for different species, even nocturnal animals! So just enjoy! 🥰

Really great zoo at the heart of the city. I suggest going in the morning so the queues are shorter and the animals are more alive. The size of the zoo is just perfect for a couple of hours walk. Lots of eating options and of course some fantastic animals including pandas

The zoo is not big in terms of land size comparing San Diego Zoo or The Toronto Zoo but it does have alot of different spices. The animals' habitats are well organized and decorated. We spent half day there but it wasn't enough. We love the animals feeding sessions by the zookeepers and we enjoyed the petting zone. We fed the goats. The zoo has 4 pandas and the zoo entrance is decorated with the Chinese theme. We enjoyed the visit.

Visiting Berlin's Zoo was an unforgettable experience, marked by well-maintained surroundings and thoughtfully designed enclosures. The premises radiate care and attention to detail, with animal welfare evidently being a top priority. The animals seemed comfortable, and it was heartwarming to see that no animal appeared to be suffering. At a price of 20€ for a ticket (excluding the Aquarium), the experience was totally worth it. We spent nearly four hours exploring, even though we skipped some of the lesser attractions and focused on the more exotic ones like Giant Pandas, Tigers, Elephants, Gorillas, Orangutans, Malayan Sun Bears, Penguins, Anteaters and Rhinoceros. The time flew by as we immersed ourselves in the sights and sounds of these magnificent creatures. The outdoor King Penguins were a particular delight, though a word of caution: the inside area had a noticeable stink, so be prepared. The aesthetic appeal of the zoo was enhanced by statues scattered around, offering great photo opportunities. And the petting area, where you can interact with goats and sheep, was an absolute must-visit; a joy for both children and adults alike. In conclusion, Berlin's Zoo is an enriching experience, worth every cent and minute spent. Whether you're an animal lover or just looking for a day of fun, it offers something for everyone.

First of all if you find yourself in Berlin you should definitely come and see it. It is an excellent park with many beautiful trees and the river next to it. Really great scenery. There are enough animals to see in some cases but at a very long distance. In other zoos you can and you see them up close. First time I saw Panda up close thanks to the compared zoo. Really wonderful experience that is worth it.

Fantastic. Amazing. Unbelievably Beautiful Animals. So happy that we decided to visit. One of the best Zoo's I've been to: mainly because of the variety of animals we saw and how well they seem to be looked after. They all had loads of space and looked happy. As for variety we saw Elephants, Giraffes and for the first time in my life Pandas. It only took us 2 hours, not including the Aquarium.

I recently visited the Asian fusion restaurant in Berlin, and I absolutely loved it! All of the dishes were expertly crafted, combining the flavors of various Asian cuisines into something that was completely unique. The service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, and I left feeling full and happy. I highly recommend this restaurant to those looking for something different!

The food and drinks are very tasty and of good quality, but could be a little cheaper for the portions. The service is attentive and well informed, but sometimes too pushy to sell anything. The ambience is modern and unique even for Berlin.

Amazing experience at this fusion Japanese Peruvian restaurant. We arrived and they couldn’t find our reservation. When I checked I realized I had booked a table for two weeks 🫣 Luckily they still had a table for us (even though just for one and a half hours). We chose the tasting menu so we would not lose too much time deciding what to get. Everything was absolutely delicious! However, the starters were two salads, where we would have appreciated at least one soup.. also we specifically asked if the ceviche was included and the server confirmed. In the end, we did not receive it and complained.. the server excused herself for wrongly telling us and offered free shots. (which is nice.. but not comparable if you expected ceviche ). All in all, we had a good evening, the concept is well thought through!

Fresh water eel and salmon sushi were amazing. Would also recommend Matcha tiramisu. The guy who served us was just so professional 👌

We went for dinner with friends and we had a good time. All the food was well prepared, quality ingredients and decent presentation. We took the tasting menu and value for price was fair. The place has a cool aesthetics and the service is busy but they keep up.

Food is good and the service is also good and friendly. However, the table is quite small and no space when we want to order a lot of foods for sharing. Anyways, it is not a big deal and we are happy to go there again.

Definitely my all time favorite restaurant in Berlin!! The atmosphere and the service is always amazing! I highly recommend the Miso Cod, Crispy Epi & the truffle spinach salad. Also they have a delicious ice tea lemon sparkling. I will be back soooon ;)

What a huge disappointment this place is. I have heard SO much about it but my experience wasn’t good. Maybe they were just having a bad day (still not an excuse). When we arrived we immediately noticed the elitist attitude the hostess where showing. Learn your place ladies, you haven’t been welcoming at all. We had to ask if we could leave our jackets. The service was good, the guy was very knowledgeable however some other servers had no idea about the ingredients of some of the dishes. As we were seated at the kitchen table we were observing everything. The dish that we ordered was standing at least 5 minutes in the countertop before it was served to which is confusing because the cook served our starter directly to us once it was done. Second point was the music. From disco to house to pop, sorry music is very important to me and if you are making such a mess that has no meaning to your establishment than this isn’t a meticulous effort for the restaurant as the hype says. Third, the prices were astronomical. 16-18€ for a two pieces of sushi? That’s just crazy, not even Michelin star restaurants charge that much in a more luxurious destinations around the world. Berlin is not luxury. Fourth, the paying looked completely unappealing and unappetizing. Please see photos. Never again, it was a waste of money but I am glad we went to see it with our eyes. It was that bad that I felt embarrassed for telling my friends so much about and then brining them there to have poor experience.

It is my ‚makes me feel good’ restaurant in Berlin. Going there for a couple of years now, we have been more than 15 times and always loved it! The location is cool and fancy, food is amazing and full of flavors and the cocktails are never disappointing. Only the champagne sometimes could be a bit colder, but addressing it, they always serve a new glass from a fresh and cold bottle. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, amongst our favorites and standard orders are the taquitos moriawase (the truffled ones are amazing, and often we order it twice), the tostada ceviche, horenso and truffle (spinach salad) and the green matcha tiramisu. As we have eaten ourselves through the whole menu, for us the spicy tofu & wakame also is a must. My husband usually will not eat tofu, but giving it a try, he now loves Duc’s! If it is only the two of us, we very much enjoy sitting at the bar!

It was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpfull. They explained everything and helped us to order. The food is very veeery good. Fish, as well as meat, is so fresh that it melts in your mouth. I loved the experience. Definitely will go there again.

My wife brought me here as a surprise for my bday dinner and it was absolutely PERFECT! I wish I could eat here every week for the rest of my life. The ambience, the service, the FOOD😍… 12/10 would recommend. Great for date night, girls night, solo dinner… anything really. Such a vibe✨

Despite beautiful performance food doesn’t match the price. I could not believe it to pay a decent amount of money to get a hard and chewy octopus. That was the worst octopus I’ve tried in my life! I can recommend chocolate lava cake and small tacos though. Ambiance is pleasant.

Its a rundown looking place from outside which creates such a good atmosphere. The sound insulation was not that good inside so there was too much noise. The black cod was out of this world, i have never tasted something so good, its a must to have. The tempura is a second choice, its good but the sashimi is a priority. The bartender was amazing, with our preferences he was able to give really good recommendations.

This restaurant can be found behind a grungy facade in Berlin. We ate at the bar where we enjoyed the activity off the staf. Cocktail were great and the dishes are true delights. Congratulations to this fantastic team 🤩🔥

The food was absolutely amazing and the service was very fast and attentive. We had an amazing time, however, the dishes are quite small, thus you are left hungry. This led to us ordering more and us spending 100 + € per person. It is arguably overpriced as a main dish can be 30-40€ each, however, it is top quality and I do not regret dining there. It was truly a memorable experience with a unique style and atmosphere. I highly recommend ordering the chocolate cake, it was the best cake I ate in my life. The cod was also amazing.

893 is on so many must-go lists of berlin - however some reviews made me hesitant to book on my short visit, thankfully i trusted the many sources that raved about this place and had a fantastic time. we sat at the bar which was the only available seating when booking one week in advance, we were three people and got a corner spot with a great view of the chefs in the open kitchen and our awesome bartender, shehab, who take great care of us and took our food order with perfect suggestions. the tempo of food delivery was excellent, the quality of the food was superb & the flavours were fantastic. it was such a satisfying dining experience. the dessert was good enough but compared to the food that preceded it, we felt it could have been more creatively elevated. we also had a lot of fun in the midst of the bar action and feeling the ambience of the space, super dynamic and buzzing. i would definitely come back here the next time i’m in berlin. a big shoutout to the staff who were stylish & welcoming.

I recommend this restaurant. It is expensive but it will be a lovely evening. The atmosphere is pleasant and the tables are far enough apart that we could not hear other conversations. The service is excellent, if just a bit too fast. We had the tasting menu and found the dishes to be creatively presented and the flavours complex. The venison was perfect. The wine pairings were excellent and balanced the flavours of the food very well. I'd give it 5 stars, but we found the dessert a bit disappointing. We will go back.

Was Eins44 was a nice but not memorable experience. Smoked eel starter, venison main course and bread were delicious, however, the rest of the dishes were quite disappointing. It’s hard to image what story the chef is trying to tell with their tasting menu, as the pieces don’t fit together. Would I recommend the place to others? I’d say no as I won’t be able to explain why someone has to go there.

Totally amazing. Beautiful vaulted space. Only a few tables so not crammed together with other diners. Service was impeccable. We went with four course prix fix with wine pairing. Portions were perfect and presentation always works of art. Most importantly, each dish was complex, flavourful and utterly new and unique. The wine pairings consistently out of the ordinary and worked perfectly. For example, the lovely pigeon leg came was paired with a smokey 1990 white vermouth. All around a truly memorable night.

We were celebrating birthday at Eins44 Attentive service, really good food We tried set menu - 5 dishes which was a really pleasant culinary journey Minus 1 star for a flat taste of Leitzachtaler Ziegenkäse I do recommend the place overall!

The place has an amazing modern industrial vibe to it with the food doing every bit to enhance that experience into something amazing! We went for the 5-course tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The staff are so friendly and very well versed with suggesting wines that will go with your meal. Highly recommend for a date night or even a special dinner with family and friends!

Clever and creative plates with usual ingredients and textures but surprising blends of flavors. Most dishes were interesting and pleasant. The setting is relaxed and the service is very welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the cheese plate, which showed a lot of variety. My rating: 4.2

Tried this place based on the recommendation of Eater 38 Berlin. Absolutely wonderful meal in a very cool space. It's a little hard to find, Google Maps puts you at the door to an apartment building, but the restaurant is in a courtyard behind that building. The staff, especially Helen, were delightful. We made up two different tasting menus, so we tried about 2/3 of the menu on offer this night. We had wine pairings to go with. Absolutely everything was first class cooking, served beautifully presented but not fussy. The wine pairings were delightful. If I had to pick a favorite, it was the lamb 4 (four!) ways with spring peas. My wife's favorite was her perch, but all the courses were memorable and great. Don't miss Eins44 if you're in Berlin. And be sure to try some schnapps at the end!

Tonight’s dinner will go down as the most memorable dinner experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked into Eins44 to the moment I left everything was absolutely spectacular. The building, the environment, the hospitality, and the sexy romance of each plate and every bite. I was sitting alone (which I don’t mind one bit) smiling and sometimes laughing out loud at how each and every bite just blew me away. I can be an emotional guy, and that’s fine, I know who I am and what I stand for. But food and the art of making good food is my escape and today I escaped into a dream land that I needed.

Bad food. Basicaly smashed potato, bread and sauerkraut for 250+ € Every regullar german restaurant has those and they would taste same if not better. Totally dissapointet with the food

It is so hard to describe how wonderful this restaurant is…it is like describing a perfect memory, which you can never quite depict accurately. The food was thoughtful and beautiful all while being fantastic. The staff from owner to Sommelier were attentive and friendly and the wine pairing could not have been better. I have been to many Michelin stars and mentions but this one has my highest marks.

If you are worried about the mixed reviews on here let me tell you...don't be! The food was wonderful and the service was very friendly. Our waters were always filled when needed, same with the wine. When they brought out the food they explained everything to you and if you had any questions they were happy to answer. What more could you want? True, I've been to places where the staff are always right on top of you making sure you feel like a star. If your ego is so fragile you need that level of attention to justify going out for delicious food then that's your problem not the restaurants. I do wish they would allow you to take photos of the food. I enjoy being able to look back on things and enjoy them again. But I understand where they are coming from. Some people take 5 minutes posing their plates just to get a picture. Snap your pic and eat your food! Still, it wasn't that difficult to respect their wishes and not take photos. Definitely a restaurant worth the accolades and if you are looking for a fun experience with your friends or significant other and some delicious food you will absolutely find that here.

What happens in N&S stays in N&S, but I can tell you it’s really good and I was blown away. Come as you are and you can have a relaxed evening of incredible food and drink, with great company. And if you have been waiting for a reason to go, if you pay through Luca app they’ll cover 20% of your total which—unusually—was a nice surprise when the bill came. Thank you for a memorable evening.

This Michelin-starred restaurant is an impeccable experience. From the tender zucchini to the delectable veal and exquisite pavlova, the variety of flavors delights the palate. The extensive selection of wines by the glass adds to the elegance. The professional and friendly service is the cherry on top. A must-visit for gastronomy enthusiasts, where everything is simply perfect.

One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Although prices have more than tripled, it’s still worth it (but it hurts to pay 200€ instead of the 80€ that it was years ago. But I understand. Supply and demand, as well as inflation). However the price shouldn’t stop you from enjoying this wonderful place with its unique concept, great food, special wines, juices and drinks as well as spectacular service. Don’t look at the <4 ⭐️rating - haters gonna hate.

Nobelhart & Schmutzig is a unique experience for sure. The outside looks mysterious and you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into. Once you rang the doorbell and someone lets you in, you’ll be placed at a bar, looking at a large open kitchen. Cellphones are not allowed so everyone is focused on the food and the people, which is nice. We had a 10 course dinner with all very unique tastes. Everything was local and selected with love and care. Instead of an alcohol pairing we had the local juices, and to be honest, it’s the best drink pairing I’ve had during a dinner. Every time a surprise. From strawberry juice to apple pine, all so good. Even for our anniversary we got a complimentary lemon pie. It’s not a cheap night out, but it is one you will remember for a long time. We had a blast! 5/5 ⭐️

A well deserved Michelin restaurant. Something truly special which a restaurant of this class should be. Being brutally honest, being brutally local is a huge task. It’s a burden that the restaurant imposes on itself to make a statement for the future and it delivers. Wine was out of this world. The setting of the restaurant as well. The philosophy that I also follow since their opening just as much. I would have preferred cutlery for the first course, but that is a personal thing. No photos are allowed, which I still took for my own memory and I will not publish, but Steffi’s drawing (a guest next to us) does even better. Thanks a lot and highly recommend this beautiful establishment.

We have visited other Michelin star restaurants with prefix menu. People often comment about value related to the prices of all these style restaurants. For me they are all serving unique special small plates and an experience as much as a meal at an inordinate price. However the staff at this restaurant was by far and away the best staff I have ever encountered at any of these types of restaurants. All the various people that served and cared for the table of 10 people... each was purposeful in their efforts. I never felt like someone was just ticking a box or preoccupied.. they were always attentive to the guest. Always interested, explaining, and sincere. From the moment we entered to restaurant... 4 hours later when we left and still standing outside, anyone associated with this large and extensive restaurant was perfectly trained. Our meal was alcohol free so it was not the wine that impacted my opinion. Truly was the best experience I have ever had at this style of restaurant. Perfection. For them I think they earned the Michelin star for as much the professional staff as well as the amazing and unique flavors of the many local and seasonal treats served.

A fun experience BUT, they are a bit uptight. For instance they don't allow pictures of their food. My group had their 10 course meal which was all sustainably sourced within two hours of travel time (I love this concept but their wine pairings were from all over Europe which I found somewhat in conflict to the concept).

My girlfriend and I had a spectacular timehere. Being visitors in Berlin, the menu, true to its intention, was a vibrant showcase of Bradenburg. Having worked in restaurants in New York, getting a seat at the counter and being able to watch the precision and care given to the food by all the staff was such a treat. The wine program was also faultless and the Sommeliers, especially Alexander, were excellent. They let us try much more than we payed for and were extremely generous with their time. We can’t wait to come back!

We knew this was a great place, but didn’t look up too much about it. Had a gift certificate we got from a friend. Meant to use it for many months, and when we finally did the night was blast. It was three of us. The seating is either at the bar, or better yet the fully surrounding table with the kitchen in the middle, OR it is on one of the extra large community tables. And it also got me thinking that it is rather good for couples or larger groups. Less so for smaller groups. Then again it worked out fine for the three of us. The food was amazing. All locally sourced, meaning Germany, Brandenburg and Berlin. Even the Saffron that was used in one of the dishes. I thought this was a joke and looked it up after, turns out there is a tiny place that grows it in Germany. Wild. The wine was also very balanced with the food. For sure. 10/10 experience when it comes to food and the all around helpfulness of the staff. They explained it all rather well. My favorite part of the whole night was the home made butter. Wow. So much flavor. It was amazing. ✨🧈 ✨ They don’t want people to take photos in the restaurant. I highly respect this, I like keeping the vibe in the place #phoneless. Which makes for a much nicer evening. Hence I took some picts at the door and in bathroom. Enjoy! 🤡

An excellent night out and experience. Visiting Berlin it was cool to have all locally sourced food served in a creative and flavorful manner. Loved the vinyl fueled varied playlist as a backdrop to friendly, knowledgeable service. They know it’s an expensive meal and aim to make it an experience. Nice touch on no cell phones and focus on the moment and your companion

While the atmosphere is funky, and the service excellent, the food served here is not up to the price that is being asked. Nothing in the menu was exceptional and many dishes were just... a tomato or a potato with no spectacular technique or idea to save the bland menu. Wine was mostly alright, but again nothing truly special — the addition of a cider and beer were nice. Don't get me wrong, I've eaten at restaurants two to three times this price, but this really felt underwhelming. The star this restaurant earned is not deserved. I still enjoy their online store with delicatessen.

Food is great, and beautifully served, ambiance is chic and service is good. the food is very tasty and full of flavors and spices but overpriced to a level that somewhat lowered the overall value for money. We came at night but I think the outside view would be amazing during day time.

We have read excellent reviews about this restaurant and we decided to book a table. Reservations in advance is highly recommended as it very popular. I absolutely loved it. Located on top floor with amazing view so make sure you book table by the window facing the zoo or sit out at the terrace. Very friendly, quickly responsive and attentative staff. As for the food absolutely delicious whatever we ordered was tasty. I can recommend it for sure and I am looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Celebrated a friends birthday as we were 6 persons and it’s perfect ambience for the occasion. Lively and vibrant with a very green interior, it camouflages and takes inspiration from the zoo. It’s open kitchen concept and they feature a nice terrace overlooking the zoo. You can also order off the monkey bar menu next door which was a plus. We ordered a bit of everything off the menu and the standout items were the Jerusalem Teller regular and vegan. Robust with flavor it was very good. Then I would definitely recommend the Knafeh Dessert. That was Amazing! Service was pleasant and nice but I felt it lacked a bit of attention to detail. The runners and servers could use a bit more communication to ensure a more seamless dining experience. Overall, good night.

What a wonderful place. Interior was absolutely beautiful. Views are great. Food was so delicious- great flavors! Really enjoyed their iced tea as well, very refreshing.

Beautiful restaurant! Went for my 21st birthday. It’s pricey but worth it. I had the Korean chicken salad and the service was great! We wanted to order desert but the girl wanted to tidy and close even though some other people were only just getting there’s and it wasn’t quite close to closing time, would of made my night but apart from that it’s a great place!

Amazing place with delicious food. We only took starters like "Mezzo Trio", kebab, and fish, but it was more than enough for two people. We also took 3 desserts, which were absolutely incredible. Here you can also order cocktails from the Monkey bar) The only downside is that it is quite expensive. But the view from the windows, atmosphere, and food compensate for this:) Highly recommend it))

Gorgeous restaurant with modern interior and delicious food. We enjoyed variety of hummus and roasted veggies and meat, all food was paired with good wine. Another point is a magnificent view from the high floor of the building, it would be the best place to invite your beloved one for a dinner.

Mixed feelings. Some of the starters were very delicious. Some were just ok. Meat was very disappointing. Sauces were super good. The place was busy all the time and people could get loud so wouldn't call it cozy.

Amazing food, spectacular view, and great service too. Highly recommend making a reservation (you can do it online). If there is a queue for the elevator, I suggest asking the person in the lobby if you can skip it, since it's normally a queue to monkey bar instead. As for what to eat: I recommend their sabich place with falafel (in the pictures) - it's delicious!!

well, Neni is like a bucket list to visit in Berlin as a foreigner. we have finally visited at 430pm reservation days before is mandatory if you wish to visit at peak hours. we could only get 430pm so we grabbed snacks there (falafel hummus etc) food are OKAY for such price and portion, tasty but we expect more for such highly rated restaurant in google, and for such money. value is moderate. if you wish to grab a drinks with evening view, why not? great atmosphere and service after all.

Amazing location, I also bring here friends when they come to visit me in Berlin. Usually you need to reserve a table week is advance thought, keep it in mind. Food is good, atmosphere is special, recommend. What I don't like is: if 4 people order the "Best of NENI" menu, all of them should have the chance to try everything. While it happened we got only 3 fish filets.. And when we asked to have the fourth the waiter looked at us like we asked something weird. Don't get that sorry 😅

very good restaurant with middle eastern fusion cuisine based on a rooftop! fresh and fine food made with products of good quality (we recommend getting the chicken shawarma) the staff is really kind and always checking if everything is alright. keep in mind that if you want to eat inside you'll probably need to make a reservation in advance :) anyway will definitely come back again

Our server Pei-Ling was lovely and always had a smile on her face, food was delicious and the view was amazing!! From our table we could see monkeys and giraffes! For three people we shared 4 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts which was the perfect amount. Food was presented beautifully and flavours were divine. 100% recommended

Really great place to go with an awesome view of the city. The food was amazing, my only issue was that the set balagan menu for 2 was too much food for us. Make sure you’re really hungry or have a big stomach :) All the dishes were great though.

I have visited this restaurant twice and unfortunately have not had much luck so far. When I first visited in march 2020 the food was delicious, however, I ended up with food poisoning due to a bad oyster. On my second visit the food was alright. Good steaks, oysters were fresh. Starters, sides and desserts were all quite delicious. Cocktails are on a very high level with some delicious options. However, the service would have been subpar for a mid-level-restaurant, for a restaurant at this price range it was simply disappointing. Despite having ordered a considerable amount, the service was slow, inattentive, and it felt like we were a burden to the waiting staff. The food is solid, the atmosphere is fine and the interior is interesting. However, for a place where you easily spend around 500€ for two people, the service and food are simply not good enough. Might try this place again in a year or so but from my past experiences I can not really recommend it.

Delicious food and great service! This was a great dinner experience with a very lively and vivid atmosphere, comfortable seating and really good food. The variety of the menu was quite good and the dishes were really well made. The staff was friendly and attentive. It was a very interesting place with a unique decoration and a unique crowd. I am a foodie and in Berlin there are not many great restaurants as far as I know. Grill Royal is the one and only for me. I always have fantastic nights there. You are gonna fell in love with its steaks if you are a meat lover. 😜

Good restaurant that serves a wide variety of meat, fish and seafood dishes. The place is quite big inside and it was around 50% capacity when we went. Posh place in Berlin where the food is definitely good but not worth the high price that is costs. The meat was good but the sides better somehow

Very nice place next to the Spree River. We had a Reservation and had friendly Service. We decided to share the T-Bone and it was Medium like we wanted. Great olives, bread, fries, salat and wine. Our 2 hours were gone so quickly and we had to leave.

Having been to Grill Royal for the last 10 years, I can confidently say it consistently offers the best steaks in Berlin. It remains my go-to dinner spot with impeccable service and great wine suggestions. The steaks, lobster salad, and fries are always delightful. If you're a steak enthusiast, this place is a must-visit! ❤️

The food was excellent. Seafood was fresh and yummy. Meat was very tender. Fries were just right. Even plain looking veggies were delicious. Service was as fine. The only turn off was a very rude group of customers who were very loud and acted uncivilized. Unexpected experience in such a place.

The restaurant is by the river but don't expect a nice view. The inside is flat, dark, overly large, and the tables are too close to each other. The food comes very late, about 35 minutes, the waiters are experienced, the meat is very tasty, the prices are very, very high. It seems to us that it has become a place for business people to host guests. When the prices were high and the company paid, it was as if everyone had crowded here. It was full of large and crowded groups of men. The family seemed to disappear. Never beat a romantic meal. Extremely noisy.

I celebrated my birthday here and I had a fun time. Loved how the stewards stayed to chat about food and made jokes that made me laugh and were also willing to take my pictures.

I had been wanting to eat here for a while, and was not disappointed. Enjoyed every dish, and each one was surprising in its own way. Scallops were a favourite. The service was incredible, extremely passionate and knowledgeable both for the food and the drinks. Highly recommended!

I had seen the place a while ago and we were finally able to go there. The atmosphere is pretty clean and the food was delicious. Throughout the menu the quality was high and extra wishes were taken care of. The service was good. Definitely a good choice for special occasions.

This place was on my list for a long time. I had the Reuben sandwich and it tasted differently from the infamous pastrami sandwich from NY, maybe kinda smoky? Not sure how to describe it but it was delicious, really worth it. The building is beautiful, I sat outside and they serve through the window, which I found cute. The service was particularly friendly for Berlin standards. Definitely coming back here soon.

The food was very good, the pastrami was seasoned perfectly. However, I don't know why the classic pastrami wasn't toasted like the Reuben; it would have been definitely better :). I deduct one star for the lack of a sign at the entrance. We stood in line unnecessarily for a completely different place, just like several others. You could put a sign there that Mogg is on the right side.

Probably the best sandwiches in town. The Reuben (16€) is outstanding and the pulled pork (11€) is not that far behind. They accompanied by a small salad. The place is small so I would recommend to reserve a table. The staff was nice. The only issue is the lack of card payments possibility (at least on this day).

Had a lovely lunch here, not too busy and a nice vibe. I had heard it was a great spot to eat so we walked quite a way to get here, but was worth it. I had the vegetarian sandwich (lentils and avocado), which was very tasty. My parents both had the Reuben pastrami sandwich and my boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich - they all really enjoyed it. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly.

Fantastic pastrami and a fascinating building. A small delicatessen serving several sandwiches, most famously their pastrami (and the related Reuben). The lentil (vegan) was my least favorite, tasting a bit grainy and bean-flavored. If you’re visiting from another country, you should try their pastrami at least once, and make sure to read about the history of the building (just past the shop entrance). Recommended!

One of the best meals I had in Berlin. The pastrami sandwich is a must try. The french onion soup was so deeply flavorful and perfect. The pulled pork was also very good, but the pastrami was clearly the highlight -- so good we came back again the next day to get it again! Absolutely go out of your way to try this place when you are in Berlin

Get into the building and make a right. Cash only. Never had a pastrami sandwich before Mogg. The host even offered me a piece of pastrami to taste so I can make up my mind. It was delicious so I ordered the Reuben sandwich. Will definitely go back! The service was great and the host was really nice.

I’d been wanting to try Mogg for some time. I knew better than to think the food would meet the stand of a Katz’ Deli or anything, but I did hope it would at least be a good sandwich. For me, it didn’t meet that bar. What you see in the pic is a €25 meal (including a €2 tip because I try not to be a total monster). Yikes. Not only was the food ultra expensive and completely basic, but the quality wasn’t what I’d hoped. Bread dissolved under the fountain of mustard. Meat’s primary flavor was ‘salty.’ Pickle was sweet?!??! Nope. No thanks. (By the way, this picture is after I've had a small bite of sandwich and pickle. This is not the 'end state' for coleslaw, but rather the beginning.)

Delicious pastrami! I live in New York so have some good reference points... The meat here tastes like it is cured for longer and cut a little thinner, the experience is different, but equally good.

Took the Reuben home and it was just as tasty. The amount of meat and cheese is very generous. The slaw was also very good. Surprised by the quarter of pickle you get though. I am sure they could give at least one whole pickle with the sandwich :) also the pickle is not brined.

Their pastrami is just great. Something you don’t find easily anywhere within Germany. Simple and tasteful, i was delighted to have tried both of their pastrami options, like more their traditional one with cheese.

Some strong highlights but ultimately overpriced. €41.80 for what you see in the pictures without drinks and tips. Really nice bread with the Mezze and the hummus was really good. Bread was fantastic. Hausteller was surprisingly small. The lamb chop and chicken skewer was really nice but the rest of the meat was on the dry side. Lamb itself was of good quality so that made me really happy. Tomato felt like it could have been cooked for longer to bring out more flavour. Service was pretty good but I doubt we would come back as it’s definitely on the pricier side without having the expected quality.

I was looking for a decent place to eat late (after midnight) on a Tuesday night, and stumbled across Adana Grillhaus. It’s a pretty good Turkish restaurant. The grilled chicken skewers were quite tender and juicy and the hummus was nice as well. The service was fairly quick and friendly. The only downside is that everything is quite overpriced, unfortunately, especially given the area/district (and Berlin in general).

Turkish kebab and the meatballs were good. The salad was also very good but with the meat there was meanly onions, they could put more salad. The meat had good quality and we were in a rush to go to the airport after and the waiters were very fast.

If anyone is looking for an authentic Turkish Kurdish grilled lamm, for me, this is the best place. They have very fresh meat and salad which is grilled in front of you. Friendly service. No reservations. I recommend everyone who's into grilled Kebab and lamm.

Food was amazing! Staff was wonderful. Portions are HUGE. Got a plate for 3 and the 4 of us still had leftovers! We will be back when we come back to Berlin!

Total rip-off. We used to love this place, but now for a 35 euro meat platter you get a very disappointing amount of meat. The flavours are good but honestly for this price one would expect much more. Shame

Today I went to the restaurant, and we had very unpleasant experience. The dishes were good, but the problem is the attitude of the server is wrong. Since me and my friend who came with me look like tourists to him in my think, the server asked us to give tips, even though it is not mandatory and the server gave us not special impressions at all. however We left tips(we left the tips over 10% of total price, and even we paid little more than price of the menu shows apart from the tips.) BUT the important thing is, after the payment, the server never showed us any appreciations. It was the second time to visit this restaurant, and the first visit was very good, and the server even didn't asked us any tips. but we left tips with pleasant and spontaneously, unlike today. the rude attitude of the server must be corrected. AGAIN, 1. GIVING TIPS IS NOT MANDATORY 2. Don't ask tips to the guests in public, especially for tourists. Don't take us as dumbs 3. Shows some respects to the customers who gave tips on you.

Adana Grillhaus is the place to go if you're looking for some Turkish grills and food. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately see their work on the grills, and that's when you know it's going to be a great dinner. The menu is very long, but we believe we found a perfect portion and dishes: - Meze Tabagi - for those in doubt in the beggining, it's a combination of 7 different starters. We were two, and asked for the 1 person size, which was more than enough. The plate comes with: olives, feta cheese, húmus, cacik (yogurt with cucumber), pilaki (bean salad with some tomato sauce), patlican ezmesi (cooked eggplant and pepper) and again the last one, but with yogurt - Adana Hausteller - the mixed grills dish with minced meat skewer, lamb fillet, chop and skewer, and chicken skewer. All the meat was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked, with the flavour of the roasting from the fire. - Everything served with a great amount of toasted bread, which is perfect for the starters dish, and a salad. The place can be a bit messy inside, but the service is great. It's a grill house, so your clothes will come amount smelling a lot! The price was around 25€/p.p. with two waters and no dessert.

Looking for a real Turkish food restaurant? Adana is the right place for you! Really excellent, faithful, options on the menu! The meat dishes are sooo good! Grilled in front of you, its possible to confirm on the dish what your eyes have confirmed before! Very very good and not expensive at all. Staff is friendly and nice! Do make a reservation, the place really fills up quickly!

Arrived here after a long day at Alexanderplatz and the food was below average - Pity though since this was such a highly rated place. The vegetarian ravioli option was extremely hard , and the cheese tasted pretty sour. Then i ordered some banana bread and that was average, extremely sweet , but I guess since the pasta was so disappointing, the cake had to fill the hunger pangs :/ Definitely not a place to put down as a recommendation for visiting Berlin.

Came for breakfast and was told the restaurant was downstairs. Went downstairs and walked into a spa. Found someone to ask who told me it was up two flights. Walk up the stairs to find no restaurant. Went back to the desk and was told by staff it's members only 🤷🏼‍♀️ Get it together guys I'm starving.

To be honest this place is a bit pretentious, but I would still go back. The food and coffee are fine but nothing to write home about in my opinion. What I really liked was how much seating there was. I would probably skip lunch next time and just go there to buy a latte, work on my laptop and take advantage of the open concept space, natural light, and fancy cucumber water.

Reccomended. Cozy place. Very kind staff. And it was especially refreshing to taste some more authentic flavours. The portions were small but good anyway. The only thing, being alone I found the place a bit too quiet. I wish they played some music, preferably traditional Thai. Because I was listening to people's conversation around me the entire time.

Very unique dining experience. High-end price, authentic food and excellent service. We came with a friend who is vegetarian and didn’t know that they don’t have vegetarian options in their menu. But after communicating with the restaurant staff, they are willing to adapt to our needs which is really nice! The place is suitable for nice after work wine and dine while hanging out with your friends.

Excellent family restaurent, and you basically dine with the family at a cozy environment. Undoubtedly, one of the best Thai food we experienced so far. The dishes were uniquely customized with untraditional ingredients and spices. Excellent food and services. Definitely a must-try!

Great experience, unique flavors, super friendly staff. Cocktails we're also delicious. Fixed menu for min 2 people. Individual selection of soup and dessert, whereas the rest of the courses are commonly decided by the party. Food is spicy so beware if you don't like chilles in your food. You can always ask the staff for less spicy dishes. Payment only possible by cash. One thing to mention that wasn't that great, was the poor ventilation. You get out of the establishment smelling like pork/shrimp.

Very nice and cosy place, you get a sharing menu with different dishes of your choice. All dishes were very tasty, we especially liked the sourness of the fish soup and also the pork belly and the tender beef curry. Highly recommended

This is not a restaurant, this is an experience. The location is intimately small, and it feels like you're invited to a Thai house, to taste some amazing traditional food. The menu is ever changing, and you can choose a number of dishes from the menu depending on the number of people attending to dinner, as the food is to share. Vegetarian options can be asked in order to appeal to everyone at the table. The service is great and the food is amazingly good - you better like spicy food though... It can get really spicy, yet never overwhelming. Recommended.

Truly authentic and delicious Thai food in a low-key decor restaurant. The experience is unique, and the set menu concept gives you a good family dinner vibe. The wine selection is also excellent. I will most certainly repeat my experience at Khao Taan. They will also cater for allergies and food preferences (vegetarians and such). Just make sure to let them know when booking a table.

Khao Taan is a very spicy, original, thai experience in Berlin. The concept is a shared menu for the table, at a fixed price per person (€45/p.p.). Our choices for food: 🐔 Chicken soup - a great surprise, full of flavour, with a taste of basil and coconut. 🍆 Relish / Salsa - a paste made of sweet pork, aubergine, shrimp paste. Served with vegetables. Very tasty and smooth, it actually tasted more like shrimp. 🥗🌶️ 🔥 Shrimp salad - very crispy prawns, served cold, with veggies, was the begging of a very spicy experience. I actually consider myself someone that enjoys spicy food, but maybe here it was a bit too much, my lips were burning. But then, it was really tasty as well, so I wanted to keep eating it, although I was on fire. 🐟 Cod Curry - also really spicy, but more smooth than the previous. The cod was perfectly cooked, and the coconut milk was a great balance. 🍛 Beef Curry - as we were three, we got the chance to choose both curries. The beef one was perfect, really tender, with fresh herbs and lime. 🐚 Clams - and we went back to burning. Their homemade burnt chilli paste is fire! But the clams were great though. 🥥 Coconut pudding - with a salted coconut cream, which made it a great ending for this meal. The dishes come with all the rice you need, and they also serve Berlin made beer, which was much needed (Pale Ale was really good!) Overall, it's a great experience! Personally, a bit less spicy would have been just perfect. The service is also very friendly and the place is simple and casual. Recommended to make a reservation, and bring cash, as they don't accept cards.

Splendid, tasteful and fun place. Limited seating inside (so make a reservation is my tip). I'll start with my remarks: portions are for sharing and in the end I didn't feel we really ate that much. Especially when comparing it with the price you pay. Now for the the reasons I gave it 5 stars: flavours are exquisite - some spicy dishes, some very savoury, all intensely beautiful. Wine selection is nice, service is familiar and attentive. A special note goes to the two desserts, which blew us away - truly. I suggest ordering more than they tell you to!
