Barbara Jean (Hoon) Wells
February 21, 1939-October 14, 2021
BETTENDORF-Barbara Jean (Hoon) Wells, 82, of Bettendorf, IA died peacefully at Unity Point Hospital and entered heaven on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18 at Weerts Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday,October 19, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com
Barbara was born on February 21, 1939 in Promise City, IA to Lawrence and Carrie (Chandler) Kriner. She was raised with five siblings: Norman Kriner (deceased), Vernon Kriner of Davenport, IA, Jerry Kriner (deceased), Peggy Murrillo of Gilbert, AZ, Judy Deming of Troutdale, OR.
She was united in marriage to Cecil Hoon on June 6, 1959 in Davenport. They were together for 60 years with much love, fun family gatherings, serving together and traveling. They never missed a graduation or wedding and drove coast to coast mainly to see family and friends like Roger and Vivalie Wells. Cecil preceded her in death on January 14, 2020. She married a kind family friend, Roger Wells on December 12, 2020 in Davenport. Roger brought joy and laughter back into her life these last 10+ months.
Barbara was a great example to her family and friends of loving others, being a great hostess, helping seniors, and loving her Lord, Jesus Christ.
They raised four God loving children: Cindy (Dan) Wieckhorst, Aaron (Sue) and Jeff (Deb) and Sarah (Chris) Johnston. She loved her 16 grandchildren and 19 (plus one coming) great grandchildren. She always had big hugs and smiles for them. Being with family and playing Scrabble, cards or Upwords were some of Barbara's favorites. She will be greatly missed and our memories of her cherished.
