Where Our Interns Work

We host over 250  interns each year throughout  50 Baird locations. They spend time in 18 of our core business areas as well as our corporate resource groups. More than half of our internships are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the others take place in various office locations throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Summer and year-long paid internships are available in banking, private wealth management, equity research, asset management, fixed income, sales & trading, finance, information technology, operations, compliance, human resources, marketing & communications, risk, and internal audit.

  • When is the best time to look for internships at Baird and how do I apply?

    Internships are generally posted throughout the fall semester (September-December) for the following summer and are filled on a rolling basis until all are filled. Click here for more details regarding the accelerated recruiting timelines for Investment Banking and Equity Research.

    We visit campuses and attend career fairs at multiple universities. We recommend checking with your university’s Career Services office to learn if and when we will be on your campus. If not, we encourage you to continue to visit bairdcareers.com, where you can view our current internship openings and apply.

  • What do you look for in an internship candidate?

    We seek students currently enrolled in a college or university who are motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, eager to learn, and ready to contribute. Rising sophomores and juniors are generally considered good candidates.

  • How long is the internship?

    Baird offers summer-only and year-round internship opportunities. Summer-only interns work full-time, typically starting the last week of May through the second week of August. Year-round interns work full-time over the summer and part-time during the school year. Internships last from10 weeks to two years, depending on graduation date, workload, and intern performance.

  • Can I perform my internship for academic credit?

    Check with your educational institution. If accommodations are needed to earn credit in addition to what Baird already offers in its internship program, you will be asked to work with your manager and see if we can meet the minimal accommodations.

Global Investment Banking Analyst – Our undergraduate summer internship program recruiting timeline focuses on current sophomores to join us the summer following their junior year. We have a variety of locations with the majority of opportunities in Chicago and Milwaukee. We open applications in January/February and typically fill roles by March

Global Investment Banking Associate – Our MBA summer internship program recruiting timeline focuses on first-year MBA students to join us the summer following their first year. We have a variety of locations with the majority of opportunities in Chicago and Milwaukee. We open applications in September and typically fill roles by January.

Equity Research – Our undergraduate summer internship program recruiting timeline focuses on current sophomores to join us the summer following their junior year. We open applications in January/February and typically fill roles by September. All opportunities are based in Milwaukee.
