Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Canada rose by 3.8% year-on-year to $1,212 in December 2023, slowing slightly from a revised 3.9% growth in the previous month, with 17 of the 20 sectors reporting increases. The largest gains were seen in administrative & support, waste management & remediation services (+9% to $1,055), management of companies & enterprises (+8.6% to $1,724), and arts, entertainment & recreation +7.6% to $757). Across Canadian provinces, earnings grew the most in British Columbia (+6.7% to $1,230). New Brunswick (+5 to $1,117), and Newfoundland & Labrador (+4.8% to $1,230).

Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Canada rose by 4.1% year-on-year to $1,228 in November 2023, accelerating slightly from a revised 3.9% growth in the previous month, with 19 of the 20 sectors reporting increases. The largest gains were seen in management of companies & enterprises (+12.1% to $1,758), information & cultural industries (+11% to $1,737) and administrative & support, waste management & remediation services (+8.9% to $1,047). Across Canadian provinces, earnings grew the most in Nova Scotia (+6.2% to $1,096), Quebec (+5.7% to $1,186). Manitoba (+5.4% to $1,135), and British Columbia (+5.1% to $1,236).
