Slow serivce in off-peak time, soda machine was out of soda (and nobody noticed), flavorless food. Used to love Au Bon Pain but maybe I've changed, or it's changed, but I wouldn't waste a meal going back.

I am not a Starbucks fan (which was in our hotel). Luckily I found Au Bon Pain around the corner - great deal if you bring a mug for a refill. Delicious sweet treats too!
Great (and inexpensive) place for quick (but good) breakfast or lunch. Fantastic pastries, great bagels. Excelent soups and breads. Very nice and friendly staff. We visited everyday we were in Boston.
Friendly, good breakfast, although they could probably be more environmentally friendly and use less plastic
This place is right around the corner from Boston Park Plaza and is so convenient to pick up snacks/drinks before heading out on the Freedom Trail. There are also tables so you can eat there. A lot of lighter, healthy options like fruit & yogurt...parfaits.More
This was an excellent place to get a quick breakfast sandwich, roll, yogurt parfait, and coffee. I would not recommend you shlep across town for this place but if you are nearby it is a reliable, clean and tasty source of breakfast foods. We got...egg sandwiches with avocado and bacon each morning. totally yummy.More
Nearest breakfast to our hotel, Boston Park Plaza, looked good so we tried on first morning, Friday. Food when we got it was pretty good, service was poor, slow and very disorganised. Saturday morning we thought as not a work day might be better. Not...so, just as bad, again food pretty good, however overcharged at the till.More
Excellent for an early start. Well freshly cooked and presented food. I would recommend their porridge on particular, coffee was good and the breakfast items on offer. Good value ,on all products
We had breakfast here two mornings. It does get quite busy but it's quick and staff friendly. Really good value and good selection.
This was our breakfast stop each day. The offerings were fresh, very tastes and reasonably priced. It would also be great for a snack or lunch. We were staying at Boston Park Plaza and this was a perfect place to start our walking day
Convenient location, cute interior, very inexpensive, helpful and sweet staff! I would visit here for breakfast and for an after supper dessert after walking off some of the delicious Boston food.
We wished to have a quick breakfast so we went here (next to our hotel). We should have walked a little further and found something better. The food was not inspired however I did expect a little more. If I had been buying junk food...it would have been fine. However, I should have taken the time to go to one of the local eateries and get a good breakfast.More
This was just down the block from our hotel (Park Plaza) and relatively inexpensive for a quick breakfast and a good place to grab a cup of coffee.
Best soups I ever had, love the samduiches too, specially the ones with their honey mustard with is the best I ever have. Also their cup salads are great for summer time whenever you are on the go and need a fast and healthy meal....Totally recommend.More
After my third and last visit to a branch of the chain, I decided to write this review. Three different branches are more than enough to get a fair impression. "Bon Pain" means "Good Bread". Where is it? Every branch I had ever been to...is dirty. with untrained, "couldn't care less" attitude employees, who barely speak English, are unfamiliar with preparing the dishes. For example, during the last visit, I ordered the Noodles & Chicken Salad new on the menu. One employee had the other employee painfully and slowly reading her the ingredients from the menu on the wall. Then put enormous quantities of lettuce, sticky noodles and almonds, and started chopping the whole thing together. the chicken breast was supposed to be chicken teriyaki. she then took a grilled chicken breast and squeezed smelly teriyaki sauce from a plastic container. then added the chicken "teriyaki" to the chopped lettuce and noodles and chopped some more. All available tables were dirty. Yes, I tried to complain which is where the "couldn't care less" attitude kicked in. Not what would would expect in Boston. I hereby declare chopping myself off Au Bon Pain for ever.More
