This is a very nice set and it was even better than I had hoped for. I did get one of the sets with a bad disc but a simple phone call and a replacement was at my door in a few days.It is really great to see how Anthony started his now incredible career as not only a Chef and Television host but a very good writer. I have been a fan for a long time and I am happy to see him get the attention he deserves. His current show "Parts Unknown"on CNN shows how is only getting better at what he does.I use his shows as a way to gauge the quality of show that attempt to do what he does. I am looking forward to seeing where he takes us next.
Cooking shows are my passion. Travel is my avocation. Put them together with a host as interesting and personable as Anthony Bourdain and you've got yourself a winner. It seems Tony is open to just about anything you throw at him but is always polite and kind to his hosts and guides.
In this day of big mouth, rude cooking entertainers it is refreshing to watch a well-mannered gentleman traveling the world and showing us the cuisine of many cultures. I highly recommend this series.
Great book. Mr. Bourdain was one of a kind. Everyone wished they could travel with him, eat a meal with him or at the very least shake his hand and say thank you. RIP Tony, thank you for bringing the world into closer view through the simple, but beautiful way of a shared meal.
Who Doesn"t Love Anthony Bourdain! Sorry to say though, my series set had numerous episodes that would freeze up and stop playing! Greatly dissapointed!
Like another buyer, I had a problem with one of the disks. If I selected a certain episode from the menu, it would play a different episode. I contacted the seller and they very graciously sent me a new disk. I love this show and I'm glad to own it all on DVD.
I have lots of Anthony Bordain's other shows. It's so nice to have this now, since it is the first of his shows & the complete series. I got a great price from the seller & it came in excellent used condition & a few days earlier than expected. Happy with this seller & this purchase 😀
This set took a long time to receive. When it arrived I played the all the dvd's to find out it is in the wrong aspect ration. It has been forced to 720 x 480 (widescreen). The original is 640 x 480 (full screen). Also there is a missing episode. Eating on the Mekon - Mekon River, Vietnam is missing and replaced with multiple titles of Wild Delicacies - Cambodia. Think twice about ordering this set that has been produced by Questar.
