Japanese fashion brand AURALEE presented the Spring Summer 2023 Menswear and Womenswear Collection, with a presentation on June 25th, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. For the collection, designer Ryota Iwai plays a game of gentle creativity, layering and juxtaposing garments of different weights, shapes and volumes styled with inventive grace. A blend of active and elegant tropes adds a note of imagination, a twist of unexpected dynamism to the clarity of the label’s design. The silhouettes are minimalistic, with a touch of propotion play.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
For women, a play on transparencies makes for a charming, individual proposition. Sheer summer weight mohair knits and airy wool pieces are layered and juxtaposed under soft-structured wool and recycled material suiting ; cropped tops are offered in a precious silk fabrication; long tube tops are worn over button-up shirts; tailored jackets exude an elegant allure.
Menswear is equally creative. Lightweight summer fabrications, pile and organic-cotton tweed are made into tailored pieces with sporty undertones. A wardrobe of versatile pieces comprises a chenille coat in double woven hand-sewn cotton; a range of cashmere-silk suiting and knitwear; a structured, voluminous cotton-poly citycoat and duster. Shorts are offered in many iterations, in elegant wool as well as in sporty, vivid cotton nylon. Knits in sheer mohair are perfect to be layered over shits; sporty anoraks are made in a shirting fabric, and worn with relaxed drawstring pants. – from Auralee
