We stayed on Avenue C which is one block away from the shore. The weather was great! We biked and walked a lot, and having Bridge street about a mile away was great. This was our first time here. The Gulf of Mexico was a bit cool at about 71F, yet a few of us managed to take a regular daily swim in the salt water. - Getaway4NowWesterly, RI89 contributionsWe spent a week in AMI (4 adults, 4 teen ages 12-14). Everyone lived Manatee Beach. We tented a house directly across the street, within walking distance. Spent 3 days at Manatee and caught a couple of sunsets as well. A great, family-friendly beach. Kids enjoyed playing volleyball and the water was great with a very sandy bottom. Restaurant was great, as well (go for breakfast and the all-you-can-eat pancakes)! - Traveler9 contributionsOne of the highlights of our trip. Amazing pier walk to the restaurant (we saw a fever of stingrays on our second visit and several up close pelican experiences). Grouper bites were delicious and they have the most amazing Hibiscus Iced Tea. Cashier on 4/18 was so nice and friendly (cashier on return visit [blonde female] was sitting down and acted like I was bothering her with my order). Servers were extremely friendly. Bridge st. is super cool, and the little bait shop here is worth a stop as well. The signs on the beach state no animals, you can totally disregard this as many dogs on the beach. Wish I knew this prior, I would have brought mine. So much for playing by the rules.
Restaurants pretty overpriced for what you get.
Condos vary in costs. We had a two bedroom for about 2500 for a week.

Has offshoots several times to get good views of the bay. Had gravel, sand and boardwalk surfaces. Went on a nice day and took or time. Only criticisms I would make is that the trail could do with maps.
