Pitch Perfect Co-Stars Split After 2 Years Of Marriage

Anna Camp, Skylar Astin - Pitch Perfect Press Interview Hollywood.com

In the movies, love can seem like an everlasting thing. When the credits call the curtains to a close, the romantic variety want to believe that the love that flickered on-screen lasts a lifetime. Even though the story projected on the big screen is finished, the romance blooms forever. Or so one hopes. But obviously, that's rarely ever the case in the real world. And when it comes to Anna Camp and Skylar Astin, two stars in the Pitch Perfect series, their real-life romance has officially ended.

As it was reported by People, Anna Camp and Skyler Astin announced that they're separating. They're in the process of getting divorced after two years of marriage. Indeed, the actor couple decided to call it a wrap on their relationship. There is no specific reason given publicly as to why exactly Camp and Astin decided to end their relationship.

Unlike the movies, romances in real-life are pretty complicated-- so there might not be an easy answer here. And even if there is, it's still a private and likely difficult matter – even though their profession allows them to be open and public people. Sometimes, love falls short. And the former couple might want to hang on to some privacy regarding the inner workings of their relationship.

In a statement, here's what Anna Camp and Skylar Astin said about the break-up:

We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.

Skylar Astin and Anna Camp's relationship began in 2013, one year after Pitch Perfect made its way into theaters. Anna Camp was previously married to television actor Michael Mosley. Mosley and Camp were separated after three years of marriage back in 2013, and the actress found herself cozying up with Skylar Astin not long after the fact. The Pitch Perfect stars were married in October of 2016 in California. It was shortly after they celebrated their second anniversary in late 2018, however, that these two loving actors repportedly began to grow more distant.

As some astute observers noticed, Anna Camp and Skylar Astin's last social media posts together were back in January of this year. In the months since then, they've both stopped following each other on social media. Typically, that's not a good sign when it comes to marriage. And there were some folks who noticed that Astin was no longer wearing his wedding band in October. The actor was also reportedly talking about the split with some of his close friends as well.

The signs of their split were even more apparent to outsiders when Anna Camp and Skylar Astin listed their $2.5 million Los Angeles house on the market, as it was reported by Us Weekly. It was apparent that things were swiftly separating for these two lovers, and while they claim that the separation is "amicable" in their statement, it sounds like they are wasting little time calling it quits on their Hollywood romance.

While the movies make love seem more permanent than it often is, Skylar Astin and Anna Camp have made it clear that often in real-life, the romance doesn't last long. Much like the Pitch Perfect movies, their love appears to be done for good. And it doesn't sound like they ended things on an especially good note either. Don't count on a reboot to be on the way.
