Angelina's New School is the second episode of the first season.
Story[]
Synopsis[]
The Open Day for Camembert Academy has arrived and Angelina's the new student. But there are so many things that she did not expect, that she is unsure that she'll be able to fit in.
Plot[]
It is the day of Camembert Academy's first school term and Angelina gets to spend a half-day exploring the school-grounds and learning about what the school does. Angelina of course is very excited about what the day will bring even though she hasn't seen the school yet, mainly because at her new school she can get to dance all day. She is so excited that she can't help dancing and skipping merrily and rapidly on the way, to the point where her father can't seem to catch up. Once she arrives, she can't help but admire how beautiful but big the school is, even bigger than her old one. For the first part of the day, things go well as Angelina hoped they would. She can really dance all day at her school and she is already well-acquainted with some new friends. A music-loving Latino mouseling named Marco, a quirky American mouseling named Viki and a stylish French mouseling named Gracie. She also learns that on the first day of school, the new kids like her can have the chance to sign up, perform and even receive a red rose in the Lunchtime Theatre, where anyone can get up and perform during lunch.
Eventually the bell rings for class, which means Angelina will get to meet Miss Mimi for the first time. Unfortunately for Angelina, she just misses her when Miss Mimi has to go outside to place in some flower boxes and falls on her face in front of her class when rushing in. Embarrassed, she pretends that her flop was just a new Ballet move she was trying, and finds out that some of her friends also took Ballet classes. This is when Angelina's troubles as school arise, and she starts to have second thoughts about fitting in at Camembert. All of her classmates know about many new forms of dance and music and have experience learning them such as Marco's Celtic and Jazz style Violin playing, Viki's talent for Irish stepdancing and Gracie's Modern dance while Angelina has never heard of them before and only knows how to do Ballet. Desperate to fit in with her new friends, Angelina decides to dance a mix of what Viki and Gracie were dancing and gets Marco to play a strange combination of Celtic and Jazz at the same time. As expected, Angelina struggles to dance both at once and comes close to falling over while her friends look on in concern and confusion. Ashamed, she runs out of the classroom just in time for the lunch bell. When she finds out that she forgot her lunch, all of the bad luck in the day becomes too much for her and she breaks down, declaring it is the worst day of school ever. By a stroke of good luck, Angelina's mum along with her sister Polly brings it to her with Polly even making a drawing for Angelina to show how good she is at dancing and the two out about the bad day. Angelina laments that no one will like her because of how different she is for only knowing how to do ballet, to which her mum reminds her
