Alexander Francis Bowes-Lyon, son of Claude George Bowes Lyon Lord Glamis & Cecilia Nina Bowes Lyon Lord Glamis, was born 14 April 1887, he was baptised on 19 May 1887 in St Stephen, Kensington, Kensington and Chelsea, England. ^{[1] [2]} He was on the roll of the living descendants of Edward IV and Henry VIII ^[3]

In the 1891 census Alexander (age 4) was the son of Claude Glamis in St Pauls Walden, St Pauls Walden, Hertfordshire, England.^[5]
