Star Wars fans can rejoice, as a new 25th anniversary set for the TIE Interceptor has been announced by LEGO.

As per StarWars.com, the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor will see a redesign of the original ship, which was used to defend the Death Star during the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi.

Measuring over 12.5 inches high and 13 inches wide, the set will include 1931 pieces, with fans able to assemble the piece in time for Star Wars Day as it releases on May 1.

The model can be mounted on a printed plaque, with the set also including two exclusive mini figures in the form of a TIE Pilot and Imperial mouse droid.

“Finally making the UCS TIE Interceptor again after so many years was so exciting for me," said Henrik Andersen, design master at the LEGO Group. "Compared to the last time I designed [it], I was now able to create a close-to-perfect replica of the movie prop. It's always been one of my favourite Star Wars ships.”

While fans wait for the product to go on sale, they can be heartened to know that Ewan McGregor gave a positive update regarding his future as Obi-Wan Kenobi, revealing that he would “love” to reprise his role as the Jedi Master.

“The truth is I've talked about having to cover for doing the Obi-Wan season for years, I had to lie about that and I'm not lying about this now,” he said, referencing his role in the eponymous Disney+ series. “There's been no phone call to me from Lucasfilm, or Disney saying, ‘Let's do another one’.

Obi-Wan was made as a limited series and it's out and people like it, which I'm very, very pleased about. I love doing it. I hope we get a chance to do another one and I'm sure we will. I'm pretty sure, you know, I've got a few years yet before I'm the same age as Alec Guinness was in A New Hope, so there's time to tell more stories in there.”
