Biography: Adolph Green was an American lyricist and playwright, best known for his work with Betty Comden at Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Their most famous work was Singin' in the Rain (1952), which is regarded as one of the all-time best movie musicals.

Greenalso wrote for a number of broadway musicals, starting with On the Town (1944) and ending with The Will Rogers Follies (1991). Many of these were also made in film versions, as with On the Town (1949).
