(WTVO) — U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger wrote a message on his Instagram account over the weekend: “She said: yes.”

Kinzinger verified the news on his Facebook page Monday morning, saying: “Confirmed. Thanks for the well wishes everyone!”

41-year-old Kinzinger (R-16th Dist.) proposed marriage to his girlfriend Sofia, according to his Communications Director Maura Gillespie.

Kinzinger was first elected ton Congress in 2010.
