Hello hettybo,
Thank you so much for getting in touch! It's lovely to hear from you.
I've had a look at this resource and the answer sheet seems okay for me here - could you let me know some more details about the error you spotted?
does this document have an answers file, as it wasn't attached?
Hi there daleyo, thanks for your comment! We currently do not have an answers sheet for this resource however, I have passed your request on to our resource designers. :)
Hi daleyo! An answers sheet has now been made available to download above. Let us know if you have any more great suggestions :)
Hello, I noticed there are some incorrect answers in the Answer Sheet:
Sheet 3: Q3 should be Northern Ireland; A: Tirana; C: Belfast
Also, the Luxembourg and Netherlands’ flags should have a distinction between light and dark blue.
Great resource, though! Thanks very much!

Hello,I have noticed that two of the flags are incorrect. The Latvian and Ukraine flags are wrong when double checked against an atlas and the internet. Please can they be updated so I can use them again with my class. If possible, could you make a sheet so that all four pages fit onto one A4 sheet. I have manually done this via a photocopier, but if it was an easy thing for you to do then it would be amazing to have an electronic version of it too. Many thanks for a great resource. :)
Thank you for doing it so quickly! :)
Hi Suzannahls,
You're very welcome and I'm so glad we could help :)
Hi there Suzannahls,
Thank you so much for letting us know about this issue! Our lovely resource creation team have amended the resource and the new version is now available to download.
This European Flags Quiz resource contains a PDF which can be printed onto A4 paper. The first sheets each contain different flags and each flag has two empty lines underneath them. Students must write the name of the country of each flag on the first line, and as an extension challenge, write the name of the capital city of each country on the second line.
The final sheet in this PDF resource contains the answers to each question of the task, including the extension task. Across the four sheets, every country in Europe is represented, with 46 flags in total. This resource is great for testing students' knowledge of the countries of Europe, as well as matching the countries to their respective flags.
This resource is also great for use during the football season, such as the Euros. Children who are passionate about football will love the chance to show their knowledge of the European countries with this fun quiz, and it will not only help reinforce what they already know about the flags of Europe, but they will also learn a thing or two about the European countries as well. How many capital cities can your class name?

The countries included are the 44 recognised by the UN plus Cyprus (politically Europe but geographically Asia) and Kosovo. Other transcontinental countries are not included as the majority of the country is in a different continent.

Lots of European countries have crosses on their flags because historically these nations were predominantly Christian, and so the Christian cross was incorporated into their flag. There are other reasons why crosses are incorporated into flags, such as Scandinavian countries using the Nordic cross, but most have a cross to symbolise Christianity.
