THE SPACE

Young Actors Space, also affectionately known as "The Space", or "YAS", features three professional working spaces available for classes, performances, coachings, audition tapings & rentals:

The Big Room, The On-Camera Room and The YAS Theatre.

YAS also offers two separate bathrooms, a purified water cooler with complimentary water and a comfortable waiting area stocked with acting-related reading materials.

THE BIG ROOM

A SPACIOUS THEATRE CLASSROOM & VIEWING SPACE

The Big Room has our largest seating capacity of up to 50 seats. It offers track lighting, a 40" wall mounted flat screen monitor and a raised 15 1/2' x 9' stage.

This versatile space is used primarily as a spacious classroom for YAS classes and is frequently rented for viewing events, table reads and affiliate workshops.

It is also rented and re-purposed by local film companies and has often been completely transformed and redesigned to suit specific production needs.

THE ON-CAMERA ROOM

CLASSES, TAPINGS & COACHING

Our intimate On-Camera Room is utilized primarily for on-camera technique classes, audition tapings, rehearsals and private coaching.

The space is equipped with a 38" wall-mounted, rotating flat screen monitor, is soundproofed for camera and is professionally lit including video-friendly China ball lighting .

This versatile room is also fitted with a raised 11 1/2' x 12' stage and offers a seating capacity of up to 20.

THE YAS THEATRE

A BLACK BOX THEATRE

The YAS Theatre, formerly known as "The Whole Theatre", is an intimate black box space with a seating capacity of 30. It offers a professional light grid, tech booth, and newly upgraded air conditioner and heating system.

In addition to hosting the teen and adult classes, our theatre also rents out to local productions, and is the home of many theatrical productions produced by our very own YAS Theatre Company.

Recent productions include Almost, Maine by John Cariani, Beirut by Alan Bownes, Battery by Daniel Therriault, Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang and Below the Belt by Richard Dresser.

Young Actors Space is available for rental on a case-by-case basis. YAS features a lobby, office, two bathrooms, four dedicated parking spots, plenty of metered and side-street parking, and three performance rooms. We also offer a small lighting package to assist in your next production, available at an additional fee. Rental rates may vary.

YAS has hosted a variety of different productions over the years, from our annual Kids Production Conservatory to independent film productions.

Notable plays that have been performed by the YAS Theatre Company include Almost Maine, Beirut, Battery, Rent, Beyond Therapy, and Below the Belt.

The Big Room often serves as a blank canvas for filmmakers, and was featured in the music video for the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s 2006 hit single Tell Me Baby.

The On-Camera Room has played host to an innumerable amount of audition tapings, which have helped launch the career of many young talents.

All three areas have also played host to a variety of renters's classes & workshops over the years.
