After celebrating their daughter Princess Charlotte's seventh birthday a couple months ago, Prince William and Kate Middleton took a moment to personally thank everyone who wished her well.

Faithful royal correspondent @KatsRoyalLetters shared the kind response she received from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in reply to a birthday card she'd sent to their daughter back in May. She posted the letter on Instagram, which read, “Thank you for the kind birthday message which you sent for Princess Charlotte's seventh birthday. Princess Charlotte had a lovely day and your message was greatly appreciated by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who send you their very best wishes.” Included with the card was one of the three new birthday portraits of Charlotte taken by Kate which show her seated in a field of bluebells near their country home in Anmer Hall wearing a sweater that perfectly matches the flowers' blooms. In another shot, she was joined by their new dog Orla, a black cocker spaniel they adopted in 2020 from a litter raised by Kate's brother James Middleton shortly after the death of their previous dog, Lupo.

Earlier this month, Charlotte joined her parents for a rare public outing without her siblings, taking in a swim match as part of the Commonwealth Games. After cheering on British swimmer Luke Turley as he completed a 1500 meter heat and qualified for the finals, the royal family then watched gymnasts compete in the the men’s horizontal bar final and women’s Floor Exercise finals. Charlotte also joined the Duke and Duchess as they met with athletes for a nutrition workshop led by SportsAid, a group that helps future Olympians and Paralympians fund their training. The outing may have also kicked off Charlotte's future as a professional athlete as Tim Lawler, the chief executive of SportsAid (where Kate is a patron), told Hello! that, “She really, really loved seeing the swimming, but she's interested in the gymnastics. While they're trying lots of different sports at home, I understand, when I asked her about sport she answered very easily and said, ‘It's gymnastics that I like.’”

And for her sixth birthday last year, Charlotte proved that she's also already shaping up to be a fashion plate just like her mom after the dress she wore in her portrait almost immediately sold out. Rachel Riley, the designer behind the dress, told Vanity Fair at the time, “It was such a treat to see Princess Charlotte wearing our button front floral dress to mark her sixth birthday! She looks so happy in the picture. We look forward to seeing Princess Charlotte’s style develop as she continues to grow and mature and we have no doubt she will become as much of a style icon as her mother is.”
