Prince William and Kate announce special BBC Radio 1 show

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to focus more on one key issue, as the "power couple" prepares to one day reign. When his father, the now King, was Prince of Wales, he was often criticised for speaking out too much on issues that mattered to him - such as climate change. However, the new Prince and Princess of Wales have been tipped to step up a gear with their campaigning, without straying into the political.

Lord William Hague, who's worked with the prince for eight years and is now the chair of William and Kate's charity told Sky News: "Certainly in the royal foundation, we're not changing tone, you know, if anything, we're going up another gear with a tone that's well established of how to help with certain issues of some of society's deepest problems where we need to bring people together to work on."

Sky News royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills added: "I'm told doing more to help the homeless is one area where we could see more work, especially now [William] has the network of land and businesses associated with the Duchy of Cornwall to play with as heir."

Anti-Slavery Day will take place on October 18 2022.

King Charles coronation to break with royal tradition

King Charles will be officially crowned as the head of Britain on May 6 as announced by Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

The ceremony will be held on May 6 in 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

However, the grand ceremony will break with a recent royal tradition, a news report has claimed.

While most of the coronation ceremony has taken place on weekdays, this one will be slightly different and will be held on a Saturday.

Next year's coronation will be the first for almost 70 years - the last being for Elizabeth II in June 1953 - and the first held on a Saturday since Edward VII in 1902.

According to a news report by Hello!, the late Queen's coronation took place on a Tuesday, while her father, King George VI, was coronated on a Wednesday, with King George V's coronation taking place on a Thursday.

King Edward VIII did not have a coronation before his abdication less than a year into the role.

The last coronation to take place on a weekend was that of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, which took place on Saturday 9 August 1902, over a century ago.

The coronation was, however, originally due to take place on Thursday June 26 1902, but it had to be postponed after the King developed an abdominal abscess that required surgery.

Before that, the last weekend coronation was that of Queen Elizabeth I, which took place on Sunday January 15 all the way back in 1559.

Prince Harry is told ‘Diana would have been so proud of him' during video call

Prince Harry was visibly touched when he was told "Diana would have been so proud" during a video call.

The Duke of Sussex was speaking to winners of the WellChild awards over video from his California mansion and apologised for not being able to attend the awards in person.

Evelyn Rodger, a Diana Children's Nurse with Children's Hospices Across Scotland, received one of the professional awards.

Her role is funded by a memorial fund set up in honour of Harry's late mother.

She told him: "I think your mum would be very proud of what that money has achieved and I also think, as a mum, she'd be very proud of you Harry."

Harry looked visibly moved and replied: "That's very sweet."

Hair experts unveil Kate Middleton's hack to maintain ‘lustrous locks’

Hair experts at Longevita claim the Princess of Wales begins her day with a bowl of oats, known to be high in fibre, protein and carbohydrates in order to keep her hair picture perfect.

The Princess also has a breakfast smoothie which consists of kale, spinach and spirulina which are said to be some of her favourite foods.

Another favourite food Kate Middleton enjoys is lentil curry, and it’s thought that the Princess especially craved the meal while she was pregnant.

King Charles' coronation to reflect traditions with 'joy'

King Charle’s coronation will be held in May next year and will be deeply religious and steeped in pageantry, a news report has claimed.

The Palace said the ceremony would “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future”, it also added that it would be “rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry”.

According to reports, the coronation ceremony is divided into six phases including the recognition, the oath, the anointing, the investiture which includes the crowning, the enthronement and the homage.

The ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey where the sovereign stands in the theatre and turns to show himself “unto the people” at each of the four directions – east, south, west and north.

The Archbishop of Canterbury will proclaim Charles the “undoubted King” and ask the congregation and choir to show their homage and service by crying out “God Save King Charles”, with the order of service urging them to do so with “willingness and joy”.

Charles’ coronation date sees MPs call for bank holiday move

The Palace said that the historic ceremony will take place on Saturday May 6 at Westminster Abbey.

Avid royal fans will note that the event will be taking place on the fourth birthday of Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Charles’ grandson.

Though Charles became Monarch when the late Queen died, the Coronation will be the symbolic celebration of his reign.

The King will be 74 years old at the time of his coronation which makes him the oldest that a monarch has been crowned.

Since the announcement, MPs have called to move the May bank holiday to May 8, currently taking place on May 1.

The week delay would give the nation a longer weekend to sufficiently mark the event and will make it “a very special memory”.

'A new chapter for Britain!' Mark Dolan welcomes coronation news as symbol of hope for UK

Mark Dolan has celebrated the news of King Charles III's coronation date as a "new chapter for Britain", on GB News, even if it has to be a "Tesco value coronation" in light of the country's recent economic struggles.

Buckingham Palace has announced the ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 2023 and there are hopes of an extra bank holiday to allow people to "toast our new monarch".

The Queen Consort Camilla will also be crowned alongside her husband.

Why King's coronation will fall in May instead of June

King Charles III's coronation will take place in May, rather than in June, as it was reportedly suggested previously.

Buckingham Palace officially announced today the date of the ceremony during which the King will be crowned, which is Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Prior to the announcement, a date of June 2 was widely predicted for the ceremony, which would have coincided with the anniversary date of the late Queen Elizabeth II's coronation back in 1953.

However, the Mirror reported the King showed no interest in overshadowing the historic anniversary.

The Queen Consort, Camilla will be crowned alongside Charles, in the deeply religious affair that will take place in Westminster Abbey, eight months after the monarch's accession and the death of the Queen.

The Palace said the ceremony will be "rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry" but also "reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future".

Meghan and Harry fans furious as Charles coronation falls on Archie's birthday

King Charles III's coronation is set to fall on Archie Harrison's birthday, causing anger among some Meghan and Harry fans.

Buckingham Palace has announced that the Coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

King Charles III will be crowned alongside Camilla, Queen Consort.

But royal fans are furious as the ceremony will coincide with the fourth birthday of Meghan and Harry's eldest son, Archie.

One Twitter user, Iris (@IrisTheeScholar) wrote: "So King Charles The Cruel has set his Coronation for the 6th of May next year... AKA his grandson Prince Archie of Sussex’s 4th birthday."

Another, nicknamed H (@hrhpluggles) questioned: "Is the King's coronation date the same as Archie's birthday deliberately?"

Princess Eugenie's second wedding dress inspiration unveiled

Princess Eugenie reportedly had an unexpected inspiration for her second wedding dress.

In her wedding to Jack Brooksbank, which took place on October 2018, the royal swapped her first wedding dress for a pink bridal gown.

The first dress, made by Peter Pilotto, was much more traditional.

Not only did the unconventional colour of the second dress catch the attention of royal watchers, but her decision to base the dress on a film actress also shocked royal viewers.

Princess Eugenie based the design of the dress on actress Grace Kelly's dress in the 1955 film, To Catch a Thief.

The dress worn by Eugenie was designed by American Zac Posen.

According to the Royal Family's website, the colour of the dress was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the blush of an English rose.

Princess Sofia of Sweden channels Kate

Members of the Swedish Royal Family were photographed with the King and Queen of the Netherlands at the Royal Palace in Stockholm during their three-day visit to Sweden.

Princess Sofia of Sweden wore a statement dress which she combined with matching red heels, a clutch bag and a stylish headband.

Princess Sofia chose the Adele Long Sleeve Midi Dress in Red from Swedish fashion brand Lilli Jahilo to welcome Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.

She combined the midi gown with a pair of Daniele Tortora red suede pumps and a mini clutch bag from Bottega Veneta.

King Charles's Coronation date announced

Buckingham Palace announced the date on which the new sovereign will be crowned and anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Coronation is a religious service which has been taking place at Westminster Abbey for the past nine centuries.

During the ceremony, King Charles will be anointed, blessed and consecrated by the Archbishop, a figure who has been leading this sacred service almost without fail since 1066.

The upcoming Coronation is expected to include the core elements of the traditional ceremony but to also acknowledge the spirit of modern times.

Traditionally, this sacred ceremony takes place a few months after the accession to the throne, to give time to the Royal Family and the country to mourn the late sovereign as well as to allow for the organisation of the Coronation.

Charles poised to give William major role in 'Operation Golden Orb'

Prince William is set to have a prominent role in "Operation Golden Orb" the codename for Charles's coronation, which is set to take place next year.

According to insiders, the King's ceremony will be more toned down than his mother's was, as Charles is "deeply attuned" to the cost of living crisis.

Another difference between the upcoming ceremony and the coronation in 1953 is that the King's heir will have a major role in the event.

Charles was just four when his mother was coronated and the late Queen was just 11 when her father was crowned, so neither had a formal role in the ceremony.

However, since Prince William is 40 and has been a working member of the Firm for some time, he is set to have a much more prominent role.

Commenting on this, Dickie Arbiter said: "Netflix are not interested in people’s feelings”.

He also expressed his disappointment and anger that the show with its “distasteful” plotline will be aired “just weeks after the nation laid Her Majesty to rest next to Prince Philip”.

Meghan Markle has opened up about dealing with damaging labels in the new episode of her podcast.

Speaking on Archetypes, Meghan said: "Raise your hand if you have ever been called crazy, or hysterical or what about nuts, insane, out of your mind, completely irrational. Okay, you get the point.

"Now if we were all in the same room and could see each other, I think it would be pretty easy to see just how many of us have our hands up. By the way, me too.

"And its no wonder, when you consider just how prevalent these labels are in our culture."

Prince Harry and Meghan 'stuck with the devil' over memoir income, claims Bower

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are "stuck with the devil" a royal author has claimed, as the couple try to make money from Netflix and book deals.

GB News presenter Dan Wootton asked Tom Bower: "Tom, do you think Harry and Meghan are fast learning what they signed away when they took this big Netflix deal? I would say they signed away their credibility and their dignity.”

Mr Bower added: “Well, that is our view but it is not theirs. They need the money and they need it now more than ever because they have got no other source of income.

“So, I think they are just stuck with the devil now. They are tied to Netflix, they are tied to their book.

“All the criticism they are going to take means nothing because that is the only way they are going to earn their money.”

Prince Harry cornered over cancellation of bombshell memoir

Prince Harry may not be able to give up the £17.5 million he would have to give back if he pulled his upcoming memoir, a royal expert has said.

Asked whether the book could be stopped, Katie Nicholl told GB News: "Anything is possible.

"It could potentially be stopped but that's going to involve him giving that 17 million back.

"And given one of the key reasons they left the royal family was to be financially independent, how are they going to make money?

"They do need to make money, they're both relatively wealthy in their own right.

"But they're not that wealthy that they can just afford to give that back.

"There's a mortgage, there's a lot of things to be done.

"I haven't seen his contract obviously. I would imagine having signed my new recent book contract myself that there is a get-out clause - there usually is.

"But you can't take the money and execute the get-out clause."

Charles's coronation to be 'smaller and simpler' than his mothers

King Charles's coronation will be "smaller and simpler" than his mother's,  as Charles is "deeply attuned" to the cost of living crisis, insiders have revealed.

Next year's coronation is set to last little more than an hour and will have fewer "arcane rituals".

The guest list will also reportedly be slashed from 8,000 to 2,000 and discussion have also reportedly been had on allowing a more relaxed dress code for the ceremony.

One insider told the Mail: "It was always planned to be a more modest affair given the world we now live in. This direction of travel has accelerated given the economic challenges we are facing.

"His Majesty is very attuned to the public mood on these things and has always had an instinctive aversion to pomp in the wrong circumstance."

Meghan Markle 'has no interest in being silent' over royals

Meghan Markle "has no interest in being silent", a royal biographer has claimed.

Tom Bower added that Meghan and Harry are "stuck with the devil now" over their Netflix and book deals as they need to earn money after quitting the monarchy.

He said: "I don't see how the Sussexes can give up both the Netflix and the book deal.

"The only way I can conceive of Harry getting out of it now is if Charles would bail him out. Somehow he'd have to pay off Netflix, he'd have to pay off Random House publishers. It would cost millions of dollars or pounds.

"Harry might give that to him in return for a signed agreement never to knock the Royal Family again. That's the only thing I can imagine would actually end this confrontation.

"But I can't see Meghan signing that deal. Meghan has no interest whatsoever in giving way, in being silent. She wants the battle.

"She wants to rubbish the Royal Family and go on to bigger things. So I think this battle is going to go on, hostilities have resumed."

Prince Harry's body language is 'hard to watch' in new video

Prince Harry spoke to WellChild Award winners from his Santa Barbara home today, and a body language expert has analysed the video.

Judi James said: "It’s hard to watch Harry here and not regret the fact that he is no longer a member of the royal Firm. He engages so well and shows empathy with the people he is talking to, as well as exposing his own emotions in a very natural way.

"He is especially good with the children, who he mirrors and mimics to create some very natural bonds with, and who he talks to directly and easily, rather than talking over them at their parents.

"There is very little in the parent’s responses to suggest they are anything but comfortable talking to Harry, rather than sounding overawed or uncomfortable. If anything they seem to be slightly more confident than Harry and almost keen to put him at ease, which is again a testament to his ability to avoid any of the distancing or sense of status that can come with being royal."
