Will Smith and Jada’s daughter Willow Smith recently revealed that nepo baby “insecurity has driven me harder.”
Speaking exclusively to Allure in a cover story on Thursday, May 2, the 23-year-old singer, whose parents are the King Richard star and Red Table Talk host, opened up about the infamous ‘nepo baby’ label.
She said: "I definitely think that a little bit of insecurity has driven me harder because people do think that the only reason I'm successful is because of my parents.”
Supporting the idea that the label itself has motivated Willow to take one step further, she added: "That has driven me to work really hard to try to prove them wrong. But nowadays, I don't need to prove s*** to anybody.’"
The Wait A Minute musician, who performs under the moniker Willow, talked to the Magazine about her evolution in terms of her looks and music just ahead of her newest album.
Coming to terms with her hangups and “negativity from the outside,” Willow claimed that she could enlist several reasons why she doesn’t feel she is the “typical nepo baby.”
In addition, the singer admitted that she would “still be a weird and a crazy thinker” if her parents weren’t celebrities.
