Margaret Gamage, third daughter of Sir Thomas Gamage and his first wife Margaret St John,[1] married (as his second wife) William Howard, K.G., Lord Howard of Effingham (created 15 March 1554).[1] They married before 1536.[2] Their daughter Douglas married John Sheffield, K.B., about 1562.[3]
Margaret died 18 May 1581[1] and buried Reigate.[2][1] She was buried at Reigate, Surrey.[2] Her will was proved 30 April 1588.[4]

Margaret is a descendant of the Magna Carta Surety Henry de Bohun and an ancestor of the Gateway William Bladen. Her sister Mary is an ancestor of John Awbrey. There are many spurious lines in circulation, but the following appears promising.
