Keith OsborneWhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder William Davis Homes has revealed its most-lavish ever show home to reflect the luxury of its new Scholars’ Court development on the outskirts of Coventry.
The four-bedroom ‘Medway’ at is ‘top of the class’ when it comes to featuring the highest specifications and premium finishes in every room, from the marble dining table, Silestone worktops and luxury en suite Drench showers to the electric garage doors and high-tech security system.
The interior designers focussed on creating an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, similar to a London boutique hotel. A trio of gold-edged mirrors spanning two floors reflect the impressive hallway, corner staircase and galleried landing. Solid oak doors and banisters are complemented by a natural colour palette of taupe and soft grey throughout the home. Dashes of gold and black add impact, including on finer detailing such as the handles on the kitchen cabinets.
The 22 four-bedroom homes at Scholars’ Court are nestled in a quiet and sought-after location near the University of Warwick. Yet they are also within easy reach of Coventry city centre, Warwick, Kenilworth and Leamington.
Sales director at William Davis Homes, Steve Rush, gave the show home top marks when he saw it. “It really took my breath away,” he said. “If you’re looking for that extra bit of luxury in an exclusive setting, then this show home is a must-see.”
The managing director of Edward Thomas Interiors, Andy Richardson, said the show home was designed for luxurious family living: “This home has a naturally bright, spacious and open plan interior, which we’ve been able to accentuate with statement furniture and bespoke or individual accessories,” he said.
“One of the benefits of the ‘Medway’’s size is that we could include substantial furniture without overcrowding any of the rooms. House-hunters should look out for the studded trim sofas and open shelves sideboard in the living room; the pair of floor-to-ceiling bookcases in the study; and the six-seater marble dining table in the kitchen/diner.”
The bedrooms also have eye-catching features. The main bedroom has a full-height linen headboard and fluted side mirrors which were specially made to create a dramatic appearance.
“Two of the guest bedrooms are styled with older children or teenagers in mind,” said Richardson. “One takes references from the nearby University of Warwick and the other should appeal to supercar enthusiasts as it features a Ferrari theme.”
The show home is available to view on an appointment only basis from Saturday 22 January.
