I have found myself proud to be a student at Chrisman, I have met many amazing people and have gotten to work with a lot of great faces both inside and outside of school facilities. I feel that most teachers take teaching very seriously and find a passion in helping young students soon to be adults learn not only about a subject, but about the world itself. Preparation is a huge aspect that Chrisman focuses on. All students are provided with fair opportunities to learn and to grow and to pursue their dreams, especially with a lot of the programs offered through the Independence School District (30). There are also an abundant number of after school activities that are carried on the backs of dedicated students and passionate teachers, allowing to further learning oppurtunities and open up new paths in someones life. Chrisman is my home, and probably the best high school within the ISD 30 area in my opinion.
I have seen the good parts and the bad parts of my school. I think there is a huge community of students and staff who see the potential of our school and try their best to make it the best it can be. I am in a class that does projects in the school to fix ongoing issues as well as just add nice things to our school. The problem with that is we have administration that can be stuck in the mindset that either everything is okay as is or that something bad is going to happen. It would be better to have more open mindedness with our administrators and school board.
I enjoyed William Chrisman high school as a transfer student into the district, it treated me well and the staff there were very kind and understanding. Though the admin were harsh, the teachers and the schoolwork itself did a very good job at preparing me for my college career.
