Filming was underway Monday in Canton for "The Hollars," the latest Hollywood movie to be filmed in Mississippi.The story centers on John Hollar, who is played by John Krasinski, who leaves New York City and returns to his middle America hometown just before his mother is to have surgery. Also starring in the movie is Academy Award-nominated actor Richard Jenkins, who along with Krasinski, was spotted outside the film set Monday by a 16 WAPT News crew.Pictures: 'The Hollars' films in Canton"The Hollars" is just the latest film to use Mississippi as a backdrop. This past weekend, premiere events were held in Jackson and Natchez for "Get On Up," the James Brown biopic starring Chadwick Boseman, which was also shot in Mississippi. Mississippi is really getting its name on the map," said Brian Hilburn, the location manager for "The Hollars".Canton has gotten a lot of movie-making attention in the past, in part, because that city goes out to recruit. There is also a 36,000 square-foot soundstage in Canton that was built when "A Time to Kill" was being filmed there in the mid-1990s.
