Gigli is ordered to kidnap the psychologically challenged younger brother of a powerful federal prosecutor. When plans go awry, Gigli's boss sends in Ricki, a gorgeous free-spirited female gangster who has her own set of orders to assist with the kidnapping. jiggly has one good line, and that involves the fact that someone named Louis pronounces the name of the film Jiggly. When The Narrator challenged me to list directors I hated so he could pick films for this challenge, I did not have a list readily available. I went and dug through a few of my own lists until I came up with some names. I had never even heard of Martin Brest before, but on the strength of Scent of a Woman and Meet Joe Black, two films I hated when I saw them, I figured it was fair to list him. Had I been paying attention, I would have realized I was basically asking for this legendary debacle…
Gigli won six Razzie awards and it was well deserved, because this movie is so f**king hideous that calling this movie "bad" isn't enough.
The acting is awful, the chemistry between Ben and Lopez is undeveloped. Not even Al Pacino and Christopher Walken couldn't save this train wreck of a movie.

I don't think I can overstate the point that Academy Award nominee Martin Brest straight up vanished off the face of the Earth after directing this. No comeback attempt, no quiet shift to directing television, not even a continued downward career spiral. He just disappeared without so much as an interview since. Gigli ate his soul.
