I would say that the teachers and sporting activities are the best part. The teachers are great people who want to see their students succeed. Whether it was staying after school or showing up to sporting events they seemed to always be there. For me as a baseball player, the athletics where great as we seem to always compete and play hard. Some bad experiences are probably the students who go here. As there is a bit of diversity everyone seems the same. The teachers are definitely the best part of the school I would have to say with nothing being overall bad about the school.
Overall, my high school experience has been mediocre at Whitman Hanson. The teachers for the most part just care about how well we do on state tests so that they get more money rather than actually teaching us and preparing us for college and life. There are definitely some teachers who stand out among the rest that are appreciated by most students. The school spirit has seemed to die down over the course of four years that I have been here and there just seems to be a different feel to the school. It's not necessarily bad but its just different compared to what it used to be. Overall, I would give Whitman Hanson a 5 or 6 out of 10 on my experience.
One of the single worst schools I've ever had the misfortune of attending. The drinking and drug use inside the school itself is absolutely jarring. You'd be hard pressed to find one student who isn't carrying some sort of contraband on their person. The administration repeatedly changes, adds, or edits school policy on what seems like whim with little to no notice to students attending. Half of staff seems to be complicit in allowing the students do drugs on school property so long as they don't have to deal with it themselves. The school may appear to be a nice upper middle class public school but its a budgeting and social nightmare. They may have somewhat new model computers but they can't provide students with adequate lunches that even somewhat resemble edible matter. The school resource officer whom ill refer to as "Harrington" is rumored to be selling seized contraband to senior students as well as rumors of misconduct with a minor female. The entire school is corrupt
