Train vs. Bus Seville to Granada
Is it better to bus or train from Seville to Granada? The price is pretty much the same and bus is 2hr 45 min, and train is 3 hrs. They both seem to go arrive on the outskirts of town? Please advise. Is there an advantage of one vs. the other?
Granada question:
We already bought daytime Alhambra tickets, would you advise also doing evening Alhambra the night before? We only have about 1.5 days to explore Granada.
Thanks,
~Alice

This has been discussed many times here before.
The bus has more frequent schedules.
The Seville bus station is within walking distance from Bario Santa Cruz (15-min walk). You need to take a taxi to the Seville train station.
Can't comment on the Granada train station. From the Granada bus station, you can take the local city bus which takes you into town.

It's been a few years, but we liked the train, they are pretty prompt and quiet, and lots of taxi's. We stayed in Granada, right in the heart of town and walked up to the Alhambra (nice walk) several times. It's worth two days at least...and if you can, read a little Spainish history before you go, so you will better appreciate what you are looking for.

First of all: Yes, yes, yes! Go at night! The place is so mobbed in the day. Come back and see the gardens in the day.
I hated taking the train. It was so slow and pokey. And I think it was hot, too. And if the bus station is further out than the train station, where the heck is it?

Granada's bus and train stations are actually close to each other.
As yk says, the advantage to the Alsina Graells Sur buses-the more frequent departures from Seville, and it's slightly less expensive.
The 9:30 am bus arrives in Granada at 12:15 and costs 19.32
The 11:50 Regional train arrives in Granada at 2:59 and costs 22.70.
One is not "better" than the other, I don't think. It just comes down to whether you prefer bus or train. Buses is Spain are quite comfortable and cheap.
The evening visit to the Alhambra will certainly enhance your experience there, but it doesn't serve as a substitute for the day time visit, since the evening visit only allow ticket holders into the Nasrid Palace apartments.
The day time visit includes the Alcazaba (fortress), palace of Charles V and its Alamabra (Hispano-Arab) museum (where you'll find on display one of the beautifully restored lions from the Patio de los Leones), the Nasrid Palace and Generalife gardens -the entire Alhambra complex.
