A friend recommended the Conch Republic, and it did not disappoint! I had a hard time deciding because many things on the menu appealed to me. I was deciding between the tropical chicken or shrimp salad (with coconut shrimp), the creole surf and turf, and...the coconut crusted mahi. I opted for the coconut crusted mahi. It was delicious, and the portion was very large! The meal came with a salad--house or caesar. I had the house with the Pina colada dressing, which I really enjoyed. Hubby had the Caesar salad. Bread is served before the meal as well. Fresh, warm, soft, seasoned bread. Delicious! There were lower carb options for sides as well. I had the zucchini marinara. Hubby had asparagus. We both loved them. Hubby ordered the jalapeno grouper. I had a taste. It was very good. My coconut crusted mahi was exactly what I hoped for. (I don't usually like fish, so I was apprehensive that it might taste fishy, but I figured I should try a fish entree since that is there specialty. It did not taste fishy and was wonderful.) A lady at the table next to use order the tropical salad with coconut shrimp that I had contemplated ordering. It looked delicious as well. The only thing I did not enjoy with this restaurant was the loud music. It was hard to have a conversation because it was so loud. (Reminded me of the noise of a Texas Roadhouse at dinnertime.) The Bahama mama drink was awesome as well, and happy house goes until 7pm. They also have sunset specials before 5pm for $10.95, but we arrived shortly after so we were not able to get in on those entree prices. The service was friendly and helpful, and I would highly recommend this place.More

Ate here for a late lunch. Order their Alligator Bites which were phenomenal. I had Mahi Mahi Fish Taco's that were very good with a fresh fruit salsa and my husband had their hamburger which he said was very good and cooked to perfection. The...only negative comment I have is the fact they have huge pot holes in their parking lot, which is gravel and my husband stepped into one (which was difficult to see because of the sun) and fell flat skinning both his knees and hands. A nice lady saw us and checked to make sure he was ok and told us she did the same thing in the same hole a few days ago.More

WOW! I had the best experience eating here tonight! First of all, the service was superb. From the hostesses’ kind smiles to my waiters warm welcome, I knew I picked the right restaurant to dine in. The restaurant was pretty busy, but the staff glided...to their tables calm as ever. My “heavenly” margarita was mixed to perfection and promptly received. I definitely recommend it! Next, my peel and eat shrimp came. These were the BOMB . COM! So flavorful and easy to peel, I couldn’t eat them fast enough! Next, the firecracker shrimp. The sauce these shrimp were tossed in was sent down from above. The hint of spice with the freshly fried shrimp was delicious. Let me mention that the bread that is brought to the table is fluffy greatness, almost forgot. Next, I ordered the crab soup. If it was appropriate to lick the cup, I may have done that. At this point i’m sure the waiter thought I was a bottomless pit, but did he show any concern from the amount of food i was consuming? of course not because he was awesome! 😁 After scanning the menu again with so many appetizing options I decided I was full. Everything was priced right and tasted fresh. This tourist will definitely be back!More

Visited on our most recent (fifth) trip to the area based on the great ratings and reviews. Very disappointing, there are many better options around. We had a variety of appetizers, surf, and turf dishes and no one enjoyed their meal - except the seven...year old who had boxed mac and cheese. Happy hour drinks were basically just juice and ice, no bite to them. Waitress seemed pretty disinterested in the whole situation, but was attentive when asked.More

We frequented the Conch Republic several times during our recent vacation. It never fails to disappoint. The early bird menu (2 - 6 pm) has several options - all include good sized portions and a side salad. I recommend the Mahi Mahi or the meatloaf....Tip: if you can get a seat at the bar, either inside or outside, service is fast and you can order and eat at the bar. It saves a potentially long wait for a table. Overall, an excellent place to eat and drink!More

Over the years I have eaten just about everything on this menu from steaks, to stuffed grouper to the Greek salad... and I haven't found anything I don't love yet. The peel and eat shrimp are the best you'll ever eat and the fish spread...is to die for! The waiters are always so friendly and attentive that it makes the meal even more enjoyable. Everytime I'm in town I eat here 2 or three times during the week and I've never been disappointed. There's usually a long line to get in... and there's a good reason for that. It's definitely worth the wait.More

We recently stayed on Madeira Beach for a week. We went to this restaurant twice. To be fair, the restaurant was getting back to "normal"but still at 50% capacity. The menu is extensive and the food was tasty but the service was inconsistent. On our first...trip we enjoyed the coconut shrimp and the shrimp pasta. It was served with an amazing salad which we very much enjoyed. We went back a second time primarily due to the salad (many restaurants in this area offer equally delicious shrimp) . This time one of us received a salad and we were told the second meal did not come with a salad. We were disappointed but the server offered to get a second salad. Then,to our surprise, the dressing which was so good on the first visit somehow was something different. Our server was okay but nothing special. So,while we would return again we would also explore other choices in the area. Perhaps once the restaurant is back to full capacity things will improve....More

The location is very easy to see from the road. Plenty of parking. The outside is very well decorated to make you feel like you are on an island. The restaurant has a good size bar that you can sit along, as well as outdoor...and indoor seating options. They do have a gift shop with many options for visitors to buy merchandise like t-shirts. I did see plenty of room for wheelchairs to move around the location with wide aisles and not over crowed with tables. Once seated, I ordered the Caribbean Crab Cakes. Two crab cakes with a very mild spicy remoulade sauce. Very delicious. The menu has plenty of choices for everyone, from Gator and conch meat to Seafood, chicken and steak. I did not see a kids menu, however they might have a separate menu for them. For my dinner I ordered the “Bimini Stuffed Grouper in paradise” with zucchini marinara and a Caesar salad. I love this place for the fresh seafood and tonight was no exception. The stuffed grouper with crab meat topped with shrimp was very filling and a joy to eat. With tonight being the first night to eat out with COVID-19, I did order dessert. I was very surprised with the apple pie. Very large portion, also clearly all homemade.More

The menu has a huge selection of items including fresh fish and you can get it done several different ways such as fried, grilled, and blackened. There are few places that serve amazing mussels and this is one of them. I'm not sure what the...sauce was but it was delicious. We started with the conch cracker shrimp that was lightly breaded with a touch of a sweet and spicy sauce. it was fantastic! I ordered the fish tacos that came with cabbage, mandarin oranges and a delicious sauce. The french fries were hot and crispy. They also have a great happy hour. I look forward to returning to try out other items.More

We took two older friends here for dinner. They live in the area and picked this place to go to. They both had some sort of shrimp appetizer as their dinner and enjoyed it. I ordered grouper sandwich grilled. After a few bites, I knew...something was off. Trying to not cause a seen in front of our guests, who had chosen this place, I just pushed it aside after it not tasting good and seeing it had grayish color. I ate my fries. Then I decided to tell the waitress and she sent manager to table. He was very nice saying, “we can’t let you leave hungry!” He offered to bring me something else from menu so I said I might order dessert and he said he’d take care of it! Check came and dessert fee of $5.99 was not on it, but the grouper sandwich was! So we essentially spent $15.49 for an order of fries and a slice of Oreo cheesecake that was under impressive! It had a very odd texture! My husband actually said he thought it tasted dry and hard. Now husband doesn’t eat seafood so we ask waitress if they have chicken tenders, and she says yes, they can do as an appetizer. He orders them and an order of fries. The tenders come out and there were 4 (maybe 5) of them on the plate. I’ve seen bigger chicken tenders at a fast food restaurant!! ($9.99) and the fries were $2.99 (honestly, it was a good portion of fries) but $10 for those tenders was overpricing! If you want good grouper sandwich, I’d say skip this plane and go up the road to Dockside Dave’s!More

We went for dinner this evening and were seated on time. The hostess was friendly and we felt welcomed. Our waitress Veronica started off friendly but had very little patience, never smiled and wouldn't stop rushing us. I explained that we wanted slow service and...to please make sure that our diners didn't come out with our apps and salads. They did. She cleared 2 of the 4 peoples plates from the table while the other two were just half way through their meal. She came back and asked numerous times if we wanted dessert but I stated that people are still eating. The wings were excellent, same with the oysters and mussels. The entrees were ok, scale of 10, they were a 4. I had black grouper and my wife had regular grouper, they were both eh, Finally, we ordered 2 deserts, the ice cream turtle sundae, and upside down apple pie, they were both good. The overall price for drinks was very fair, the price for the apps similar. The price for the crab cake (mediocre) and 2 grouper dinners was high for what you received and how it was presented. I might try it again for just apps while sitting at the bar, never again within the restaurant. I hope this review is helpful to others.More

I had been here before and can’t complain about the food. However, the latest visit proved to be rushed. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer followed by a soup order and then the entree. The calamari came and at the same time the soups...came with the server saying she was sorry, but they were busy. Well, guess what they are busy every night of the week, just a poor excuse and a poor waitressMore

We have recently made Conch Grill a must stop on our evening restaurants. Keep in mind, this place is super busy, so expect long wait times unless you get there between 4-5 for an early dinner. We spoke with the hostess and asked for outside...seating, but not in direct sunlight, which she said would take about 10-15 minutes. We were on our way to our table in about 10 minutes. Our server was fantastic and extremely willing to take care of us. She took our drink orders and returned almost immediately with them. She got our appetizer order of Conch, which was excellent, and it appeared within 5 minutes. She then took my wife’s order of 5 grilled scallops, very large scallops, which included a salad and choice of garlic mashed potatoes. I got the Conch Platter Grilled, with three large scallops, 6 large shrimp and a Group fillet of about 8 Oz. Every item was nicely seasoned and very good. Our server timed the drinks, appetizer, salads, and main entrees perfectly. It made for a relaxing dinner. I would highly recommend spend the evening dinning at the Conch. The wait is well worth it, so be patient and the wait time with your family or whoever you are with.More
