The pier costs $1 for visitors to walk on and $4 for visitors to fish on. I live a couple blocks away from the pier in Boca Raton and I always walk down to the pier. It is a cool place to hang out and a good relaxing time.

Don't often rate piers, but this pier, as most good ones are, offer a pleasant opportunity to enjoy the beach and distant views. We happened to be at this pier in the late afternoon in what is probably a lull in the season for this part of Florida (if there is such a thing, lull, that is). We watched a small king mackerel being pulle in (maybe he was just a prince!), and enjoyed some friendly birds "up close and personal". Not a busy day at the pier, which is good because throngs can be a negative aspect to piers. At $1 this was certainly worth a few minutes.

I've caught everything from jacks snapper shark barracuda Tarapin. Make a day of it when planning your trip to the Deerfield areas The pier is on the best beaches in south Florida and just steps from some of the best restaurants and bars in South Florida children friendly adult friendly and senior friendly I highly recommend this to be one of your go to destinations when visiting South Florida

Went here with my family of five (we have three younger kids). The beach is very long and very clean. I like that they have tentative safety guards. There are a few public parking areas for the car and also restrooms and outdoor showers to rinse of all that sand. I think I saw some food outlets too. If you want to do fishing, there is a shop where you can rent equipment. The only thing is that they charge for going out on the pier (I think is was 1 dollar), regardless if you want to do fishing or not. But then again, we had plenty of fun on the beach and in the water.

This pier seems to have been hijacked by fishermen, which is a Shane as it is a public amenity designated to be used by all. In effect it is a hammerhead shaped pier, with both ends of the hammer, in reality out of bounds to anyone other than a fisherman. We found both East and west sides blocked by stacks of fishing rods , so that in effect you found only enjoy the view directly ahead.
It would have np been nice to have been able to have a photo taken with either side of the beach in the background, but our way was blocked by stacks of fishing rods (with accompanying hooks). We decided these were best avoided. Shame as you got the distinct impression you were in the way of those there for the fishing.

During date night my husband and I went out on the pier. Showed up just in time to see someone catch a shark!
the next morning we took the little one's out to watch the fisherman. The dock was pretty dirty with fish guts, but that was ok with us! We loved being out in the wind, and seeing young and old, men and women, enjoy fishing.

This is a really nice pier, yoou can rent fihing poles and tack to go fishing. Clean and in good shape with a beautiful beach you can swim. My son is is a wheelchair and you are able to use a beach wheelchair to get him to the ocean. There is a snack bar and restrooms also all and all a nice place to hang out for the day. SThe people that work at the pier were very helpful as well as the lifeguards helping me get my handicap son out of the water and even pushing the beach wheelchair back to the cr for me. Beautiful area and I will go back again and again! Handicap parking is free if you have a handicap sign...finding a parking spot can be a little hard. Lots of little shops near by also.

At almost a thousand feet long, it's a great way to walk over the ocean to fish or just enjoy the ocean breeze. There have been some impressive catches off the pier of snapper, mackerel, barracuda, yellow tail and more! You can go out for sightseeing at $1 pp or for people 6 and older, it's $4 pp to fish (3 rods and 1 bait bucket). There are several restaurants nearby and a beautiful beach.

We always enjoy walking out on fishing piers to see what people are catching ... one couple asked if they should keep and cook the puffer fish ...we threw it back ...

Alcohol is not permitted on the pier if I recall, but I have no idea about a crab trap. It's pretty high above the water, and I didn't see anyone else doing this, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. But no alcohol.

They charge a dollar to go on the pier but Check with website to see if there is an age limit for fishing. Also check if a fishing licence is necessary

I see the hours the pier is open on Friday 6am-12am. Then on Saturday 24hours ! :) Which I would certainly believe then since Saturday has 24 hrs and the pier is open 24 hours on Saturdays that the pier is open from at least 12:01 am till 11:59 pm. 24 hrs yes ? So Fridays it really doesn't close at midnight ? :)

Take Hillsboro Blvd. all the way east until you hit A1A. The pier is on your right side nearly in front of the Wynham Hotel. Enjoy!
