Where can i watch anime in English (dubs) with English subtitles ?

Question

A pretty simple question.

I’m French, living in France, but i’m fluent in English and always prefer to watch English dubs when it comes to anime (same for video games... and pretty much everything to be honest, English is much more expressive language than French in my opinion).

Anyway, there are many places online where i can watch anime in Japanese with subs (French or English subs) or sinply French dubs. I can also find English dubs... but usually without subtitles.

I used to have a suscribtion to Funimation but i had to use a VPN to access it because, as you know, Funimation is only available in the US...

Is there anywhere else i can watch English dubs with English subtitles ?

Edit : why the HELL do some websites, for exemple Crunchyrolls, give you English dubs but not the choice to turn on English subtitles with those dubs...?! What do they have to lose to just let you use the same subs used for the Japanese version ! There are tond of people outside of English speaking countries who like to watch English dubs but need subtitles because it’s not always easy to understand with all the yelling and weird voices in anime...

Netflix (though most their dubs are terrible compared to the dialogue), Hulu, FunimationNow

Which dubs are you talking about specifically, curious?

Almost every anime I've watched on Netflix, the subs don't hardly match up with the dub at all

I’m in the us and I have found that most of the animes (disclaimer: I’ve only watched a few popular ones) that I watched on Netflix generally have an option to turn on dubs and sub/ closed captioning. However, I’m not sure how many of them have English dubs though. Most services that I’ve used that have dubs have an option for English subs that can be turned on over the dub.

Join up with the strawhats and you’ll find something like that eventually.

Anime lab probably. Heaps of dubs, and I assume you can turn the subtitles on for them.

Nope, only available in Australia and New Zealand.

And i’m not using a VPN again, too expensive (if you add the sub for something like Funimation for exemple, it’s 5 euros plus 9 euros for the VPN, so 14 euros a month to watch anime. And i was using a rather cheap VPN) and streaming in HD take forever and constantly reload with a VPN...

Ah damn, I wasn’t aware it was limited to those countries! Guess that explains why I never see anyone talk about them lol.

Yes, you can absolutely do that. I'll allow it. The world will not implode. The only time you are not allowed to do that is when watching the greatest anime of all time, La Seine no Fucking Hoshi, which can only be experienced dans la langue superieur où il s'appelle La Tulipe Noire.

Are you sure you're French???

I sure am.

The French language is more “complex” but the simplicity of English makes it more expressive to me, it conveys emotions more effectively.

Also, French dubs always seem to be made by retards, wether it’a anime, movies or video games, we are so freaking bad at dubbing, it never sound natural, nobody talks like that in real life.

Unfortunately on Netflix France most anime only give the choice between French dub or Japanese dub with French subs... Some even come only with the French dub.

Maybe a vpn?

Netflix knows when you're using a VPN. I've tried this before trying to watch Dorohedoro. Doesn't work.

Wow that’s crazy that they made it so you can’t use a vpn anymore, I remember when people would used to talk about using them to watch stuff on there all the time
