Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is like a "father" to him.

The two sides play in the Premier League on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium and the bosses played together at Paris St-Germain.

Arsenal's Takehiro Tomiyasu may return after missing Saturday's victory at Wolves due to a knock.

Jurrien Timber is their only definite absentee as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Chelsea are likely to be without Cole Palmer, who has been suffering with illness since Saturday's FA Cup defeat.

Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell will be assessed, while Christopher Nkunku, Robert Sanchez and Lesley Ugochukwu have all returned to light training.

Tuesday's match at Arsenal could be a chance for Noni Madueke to stake his claim to be an important part of Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea side.

The 22-year-old has started just six Premier League games this season, with Cole Palmer taking the majority of the headlines in his excellent first season at the club.

Palmer has scored 20 goals as he competes with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins for the Golden Boot and has been one of the few consistent parts of Chelsea’s season.

However, Palmer could miss his first match since December against Arsenal because of illness, which may present an opportunity to Madueke to show Pochettino he can be relied upon.

Madueke, has had a frustrating time since signing for the Blues for £30.7m in January 2023 and has been reprimanded by his manager twice this season - once when he was pictured out partying and most recently when he tried to take the ball from Palmer with Nicolas Jackson before a penalty in the 6-0 win over Everton.

But Pochettino believes with Palmer out, it is a chance for players like Madueke to take their chance.

"We will see. It is a good challenge if Palmer is not available. It’s a good challenge for his team-mates or those in a similar position.

"If I were them, I would be motivated to go there and show that this is Chelsea Football Club, not Cole Palmer Football Club."

"They are not jealous. They only want the same pill we provide Palmer! I am joking! They ask: 'Whatever you do for Palmer, we want the same.'

"It is a good example for them of why he is doing so well and why they are not capable of doing the same."

Although Madueke has found it tough at times, he has shown his potential with a number of flashes of his talent. However, Pochettino understands why it may be hard for a player to deal with the situation at the club.

"We need to be careful with young kids," Pochettino said before the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester City.

“We need to be strong sometimes and we need to be nice and understand the situation.

"If you arrive at a club and, six months later, the club signs another player in the same position and with the same profile - maybe two more players - and then you have to fight for your position when you believed you were going to play, it's not easy.

"Young players need to make mistakes. It's important for us as a coaching staff to deal with the situation.

"It’s trying to understand what we expect from him. Most important for these young kids is to understand what they need to do."

Back to the Premier League now. Tonight's game has been previewed by Cesc Fabregas - a man who knows both Arsenal and Chelsea very well...

In League Two, Barrow can guarantee a play-off place if they beat Bradford and Doncaster lose away to Colchester.

Doncaster, who have won their last nine successive league games, witll move into the top seven by avoiding defeat.

Bradford need to win at Barrow to keep their play-off bid alive. Defeat for the Bantams and they are officially out of the race.

At the bottom, a point for Colchester would keep them in the Football League and relegate Sutton United.

There are four games across League One and League Two tonight, with plenty at stake in all the games.

In League One, Peterborough will keep their automatic promotion hopes alive until the final weekend of the season (this coming weekend) if they win at Cheltenham Town.

Anything less than a win for Cheltenham, meanwhile, would condemn them to relegation from the third tier.

Cambridge United host Wycombe, knowing a win would guarantee their safety in League One. Anything less, and a win for Cheltenham would keep the Us in danger of the drop until the final day.

After looking ahead to tomorrow's four Premier League matches, it is now time to turn attention onto tonight's football.

Before we discuss the Premier League London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, we shall first look at what is at stake in League One and League Two.

With so much talk about the Merseyside Derby, I thought I’d ask Jurgen Klopp about Trent Alexander-Arnold, who looks to be thriving in the pressure of the title race having returned from injury.

Alexander-Arnold featured a lot in the media while on the side-lines, and we’ve become accustomed to his comfortable and confident manner but that wasn’t always the case.

In terms of how his vice captain has developed since making his debut as a shy, reserved 18 year old in 2016, Klopp said people will be talking about him in “20, 30, 40 years time” and to be part of his journey is “rare” and “special”.

The soon to be departing Liverpool manager interestingly made the point that Alexander-Arnold has only had himself as a head coach, adding that it “will be good for him to have new influences”.

Whose methods Alexander-Arnold and his team mates will be adapting to next season remains as much of a mystery as ever, with multiple new names being linked to job at Anfield in the last 24 hours.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on whether striker Dominic Solanke can win the Premier League's golden boot award: "It’s going to be difficult because the other forwards are in great form, they are scoring goals but he will try for sure.

"I think he is performing really well and he has been really consistent throughout this season and I think he has given us very good performances and I will ask only for the goals.

"I’m very happy and I’m sure he’s very happy if he gives us points, even if he doesn’t score more."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on whether this season's focus is on trying to beat their club record tally of 46 points in a Premier League season and their best ever finish of ninth: "I think especially the points. We’ve been focusing on that in the last weeks.

"It’s achievable, but it’s going to be difficult because we have to beat strong teams and teams in good form in the last games. We will have to be good if we want to beat their points total."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on the success of both teams going into this game: "I think both [of our] seasons have been very good for both clubs we still haven’t finished.

"We want to finish strong, with good sensations, also looking for next season and now has been difficult preparations, two days, both travels.

"Today, we go straight away and I hope we are ready for tomorrow because it is going to be a fight like the Villa game.

"These are the last games of the season and we have to try to take every opportunity we have.

"We face a team that is very close to us and it is always important. We are fighting for positions, so that is the important thing of the game I would see."

"We’ve not recovered anyone, so it’s going to be the same players available and we will have to choose from that."

Manchester United winger Antony has responded to criticism he received after celebrating in front of Coventry City's players after their FA Cup semi-final win on Sunday.

As suggested by manager Erik ten Hag earlier today, Antony said that his celebrations were in the heat of the moment after being "provoked" by a Coventry player.

Antony posted on X: "Coventry proved why they reached the semi-final. We seeked this spot in the final for our fans and we achieved.

"The way our fans were treated by their player was not nice and I, in the heat of the moment, I've reacted to the provocations in a natural defence of my club!"

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil also weighed in on the VAR debate, following Nottingham Forest's statement this week: "The technology doesn’t seem to have cleared things up as we hoped it would.

"I doubt very much they are considering removing it. I do think at the stage we’re at it’s a definite consideration.

"I’ve never been in that camp, I’ve always thought VAR would be a big benefit to the game. Maybe it hasn’t been as much as a benefit as much as I expected.

"Forest can handle their situation however they want. I’m sure the FA and whoever else is involved will deal with it accordingly."

More from Gary O'Neil on his time at Bournemouth: "I had an opportunity I enjoyed, a tough opportunity.

"People see Bournemouth as giving me first shot at it. I was giving an incredibly difficult task, the team had just lost 16-0 on aggregate over last three games.

"I managed to make a decent go of it, hence my opportunity at a big club like Wolves.”
