You’ll judge me.
Hate me and tell me I’m wrong.
Refuse to see how my darkness is what she needs.

While I don’t particularly care about your feelings in the matter, and while I pursue her despite the wedding bells that rang for another, only I can see how she is drowning beneath mediocrity.

How many times must I remind her?
It can’t matter that I am the person who ruined her life.

The man who killed her father.
The constant shadow that watches her sleep.
The lover who prefers dirty alleyways to freshly laundered sheets

She’s mine. Always has been.
I'm the worst thing for her, yet I’m the only salvation she knows.

He had his chance to make her happy.
He failed.
He didn't see how she was dying inside because he couldn't know her.
Not like I know her.

I am her stalker.
Her protector.
And the only man that can bring her back to life.

Probably the best stalker romance I have ever read!

This was an odd one to be certain but I really liked it. It is definitely dark and twisted in it’s own way but in some ways it almost is not, but that has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Because the Hero or anti-Hero as the case may be, is definitely an assassin by trade and I know there is some sort of thought process out there or maybe it is just something I heard in the movies, that if people kill for money and not fo the thrill of killing then they aren’t psychopaths or sociopaths (I always get those confused).

Anyway, our boy Ari as well as his friend Lincoln who we see a few times in this book, both are assassins and self proclaimed bad guys. Ari even calls himself a Villain on numerous occasions. Though he kills for money, he has no conscience about it and he doesn’t care what the person has done to get a hit put out on them. He figures they probably did something bad, but he doesn’t ask and he feels no guilt. Until one night when he kills a man in his home and makes it look like suicide by gunshot to the head.

The man is supposed to be home alone, but after he leaves through the window he turns around and sees the man’s sixteen year old daughter Adeline come in and find her father like that and he sees how she is destroyed by what she sees. It is the first time he feels guilt and from that day forward he becomes her stalker.

Ari is a true stalker, meaning he watches from the shadows and finds out everything about Adeline’s life, but doesn’t make himself known to her. Ari sees that she has issues sleeping, he breaks in when she isn’t home and reads her journals and steals small things from her room, he reads the books she likes and listens to the same music as her. Ari is crazy obsessed with Adeline, he even has Lincoln watch her when he is away on jobs.

Though Ari is attracted to Adeline he only watches her and he doesn’t actually get involved in her life until much later. I don’t want to give anything away about that part because by that time Adaline is married to someone else, but let’s just say things get very complicated between them and though Ari is crazy, he also seems to know Adeline better than anyone ever has. But he also has some huge secrets like the fact that he murdered her father.

There are a lot of things going on in the book, but I loved every minute and the romance between Ari and Adeline was super steamy. Adeline suffers from several sleep disorders such as narcolepsy which includes something where she has vivid dreams and/or nightmares in the space between sleep and wakefulness that may be dreams or hallucinations, she also suffers from crying/screaming/fighting in her sleep and sleepwalking. So it was pretty interesting to learn more about some of these conditions. I almost wish this wasn’t a standalone!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

'THE DANGER YOU KNOW:' Is a full length dark romance novel by author Lily White. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

In this you'll meet our hot stalker man Ari
Our heroine is Adeline aka little bird
And our secondary character Lincoln (who I'm hoping gets his own book 🙏) He's Ari's right hand man, he's also the on-call babysitter when Ari was out doing what Ari does.

Whatever this author writes, I'll read!! This author is on fire!! Whatever she's doing it's working! This book right here quickly bypassed 5 stars and went straight to a favourite read of 2020! I don't want to give too much away with this book, but just take my word for it, it's gonna knock your socks off!!

Pure Perfection, all you dark, gritty, stalker book lovers need to get your one click on release day!! You won't regret it!!

I am gobsmacked, this was beyond anything I could’ve wished for, it ticked every single box and then some. Go into this blind, it may cause triggers, there is cheating, it’s dark, it’s gritty, it’s f#cked up beyond measure but if you can get beyond all that, then this book was written for you!

I shuddered, I cringed, I giggled, I swooned, I felt, I loved..

This is how a dark stalker book should be written!! This was top notch!! In a league of its own!!

I tiptoed into this, not really reading the synopsis etc but knowing that this author is a go to when I need a dark, sick, fix so this one was no different. I didn't expect to come out the other end with a heart full to bursting like I did though, god how I loved these characters.

First of all...be afraid, be very afraid! Ari is going to maul your heart and stalk your senses.
Secondly, leave all your morals and inhibitions at the door.
There's no dispute in the fact that Lily can write dark like no one else. The Original Queen of Mindfuckery is trigger free lass, prancing in the field of skulls with crows perched on them, feasting on the eyes. She bravely goes stomping in the tropes where authors rarely dare to venture, and owns the place!! Her penchant for creating 💯proof, pure, unadulterated Asshole men is legendary. Her characters are thorough, unapologetic & singularly focused. One after the other she's has successfully created memorable Monsters that send shivers up our spines.
What is a monster?

description

“I feel like I live a parallel life. That I experience things very few other people can understand. And the worst part is, I prefer that strange place. It scares other people, but I love it. It’s happened to me for as long as I can remember.”
As Adeline finds out, he's the one hiding just beyond her fingers' grasp, he resides in a thin strip of consciousness beyond her wakeful nights and before the deep sleep.
The Wake To Dream zone!
"I’ve walked between the curtain of being awake and being asleep, and I’ve learned to love it there. To make peace with it."
And the horrifying part is when the Monster reaches out to old your hand and pulls you in.
He seems to fit inside her like a piece of her soul...that's when things take a turn....for better or for worse?
This is where she feels safest....but not for long
To describe this story in Words is tough. It's All About The Feels
There's paralyzing fear of the dark shadows, there's tingling of the nape hair, there's chill running through your body, there's sinking feeling of thumping heart, there's jitters of surprise and anxiety.
It's a molotov cocktail of sentiments, threatening to explode, which will have you tiptoe-ing around the pages

description

Lily creates different monsters for different reasons. Some protect, others destroy. The ones in broad daylight seemingly more dangerous cause they hide in plain sight.
The ones lurking in the shadows are sentries, guarding her sanity and life.
But the end was the most remarkable part. She flips the definition of its head.
We see firsthand how a monster is born, it is killed and it is reawakened, all in different stages of the book. The cherry on top is a surprise which made my heart all gooey and fluttery.
An intricate look at the layers of human psyche, which keeps constantly transforming in front of your eyes. Astounding scenarios written with natural ease that's signature LW. it's pulse pounding rhythm and pace makes it a hair raising ride till the end.
Remarkable story which kept me glued to the pages. A Lily book is always highly anticipated, deliciously savoured and felt for days!!.......then we have lengthy conversations. Which are the BEST part about reading her books. I enjoy our talks and cherish her darkness. Don't let it fool you, it hides a generous heart beneath😁

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

For years Ari watched over the free-spirited Adeline Kane from afar. What started as conscience quickly escalated to a full-blown obsession. And he would stop at nothing until he claimed her as his.

What I loved the most about this book is how all the characters stayed true to their inner self. This is a crucial aspect for me when it comes to Dark Romance. I was pleased with the storyline and enjoyed watching the main characters' interactions with the supporting characters especially with the addition of a special cameo appearance by a certain someone.

And as he drives into me so hard that my back slides against the wall, I watch his face while memories pour through me, little snippets in time where he is suddenly there...watching. Waiting. Building his complicated web that will eventually ensnare me.

No matter how you see it, Ari’s motivation and dedication was admirable. I also loved his dark humor. Initially, I thought I might have an issue with Adeline but she grew on me as her character evolved. They had good chemistry and the sex scenes were intense.

The Danger You Know is a fascinating tale of controlled obsession. It would appeal to readers who enjoy Dark Romance with unapologetic characters.

At 16 years old, Adeline Kane’s life irrevocably changed when circumstances out of her control occurred. While she lost those she loved, Adeline gained the obsessive eye of someone who shouldn’t be watching her. As years passed, Adeline always felt a presence but attributed these feelings to her own inner demons until she comes face to face with her shadow.

“I need to be the fire that roars to life inside her, need to be the shadow that she reaches for every time she closes her eyes.”

Immediately upon starting this book, I was drawn to the characters. Adeline is young and aimless, but it’s her spirit that catches Ari’s attention. As for Ari, he is dark and fixated on Adeline for his own reasons. Together, it’s complicated and morally ambiguous, but what I especially loved is how these characters remained true to themselves.

“She doesn’t need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself.”

Overall, this plot was perfectly executed with a combination of darkness both in subject matter and in character traits. The author certainly presented a unique dynamic to a stalker driven storyline. Additionally, the connection between Ari and Adeline is intense bringing combustible scenes.

The Danger You Know is a dark romance with compelling characters and an engrossing plot.

The book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narration was done by James Cassidy and Ada Sinclair, both of whom do a terrific job and the only thing that could have made it better was if it had been done in duet narration. Ada has a hesitant yet clear feminine voice that is perfect for Adeline who is struggling to find herself and James has a husky deep voice that works well for Ari.

This was my first book by author Lily White, and I was definitely happy I gave it a try! I will be reading more of her books as soon as I can!!!

This story had a dark theme to it, and it made the suspense all the more intriguing to read! Ari, who was the hero, ended up meeting the heroine during a traumatic time. Once he met her there was no turning back for him. He ended up stalking her from that moment on! He had secrets though, and his constant attention to her would eventually catch up to him!

I really did enjoy this one! I can’t wait to read more of Lily White’s books in the future!❤️

Lily White has done it again!! With each story she delivers, I fall more and more in love with her writing style and the deliciously sexy antiheroes she creates. The Danger You Know was one of the most delicious stories I've read by her as there was something amazing about Ari. He was on another level for me! He was not only a dangerous stalker, but his connection to Adeline could not be denied. He saw the real her and would do everything in his power to keep, protect and own her. He is one of my favorite characters that White has written!

Primarily, what I love about White's stories is that she does not pull her punches. Ari and Adeline have a connection that is dangerous, dark, intense and borderline psychopathic, but it is something that neither can deny. With one glance at Adeline years earlier, Ari is set on a consuming and obsessive course where nothing will stand in his way of keeping Adeline.

Overall, this story was absolutely fabulous. It was raw, edgy, addicting and so consuming. I look forward to more from this author in the future! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

I was privileged to an early peek of Lily White's newest twisted masterpiece and, once again, she has proved why she's one of my favourites authors and my queen of mind-fuckery!

With Ari & Adeline's story we are treated to a kind of stalker romance that has set the bar higher for these type of books. It has a different kind of story line but one with shocking moments, one that packed punches and one that has scorching hot passion.

I loved it 🙊🙉🙈🐾

I have a few words to describe the relationships in this book, disturbing, dysfunctional with a side of creepy. That being said, few writers can actually pull this off into something worth reading and yet it all seems to work perfectly, making the read into something I couldn't put down.

Things to keep in mind: There are no heroes in this book

: The only unselfish character in this book is a complete train wreck, but as
train wrecks go, it is definitely the one you can't pull your eyes from.

There is definitely more going on than what I originally thought and I was
shocked at just how dangerous things really were for Adeline.

Overall I found this to be a highly entertaining read with lots of suspense in the storyline and a great plot.

Happy Reading 📚📚📚📖📙📃📘📘📒📘📕📔📖📚📚📘📕📙📓📔😇

An excerpt from the first chapter, these are not the characters I like to read about.

"Her boyfriends never last more than a few weeks or months because Adeline isn’t the type to commit.

Her habits and choices have driven me insane for the past two years.

I’ve watched her lose her virginity in the back of a car, have witnessed her run from one guy to another. I’ve been the silent specter that counts the boys and men she’s stumbled through without concern for her reputation.

Thirteen, not that I’m counting, and if you judge her for it, I’ll gut you and laugh while you scream."

P.S The heroine had just turned 18, all these men were before this age.

Genre:  Dark Romance

”It’s always been us.  The little monster and the shadow that watches her.”

Adeline Kane was only sixteen years old when her world turned upside down.  After the death of her father she was lost and couldn’t seem to find her way.  She became wild and she thought she finally found what she needed when she decided to settle down and make a family.

“She’s a free spirit, a beam of light that manages to slice its way through the dark landscape of my careful life.”

Ari is dark, intense and unapologetic person who has been obsessed with Adeline for a very long time.  His creepy stalking was getting out of control until he realized what he had to do at last.

“I was nothing but a ghost, an unseen force that guided his hand.”

I found myself enjoying this book so hard.  Call me crazy, why would you like a creepy stalker? But the story was written so well, the author had you falling so hard and fast from beginning to end.  This was a rollercoaster ride full of surprises and had me glued to each page.

Overall, The Danger You know is dark, crazy, and so messed up page turning story.  I absolutely love the hero, the plot, the hotness and the suspense with the surprising twists.  Dark romance readers will find this story appealing.

"She doesn’t need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself. I’m happy to oblige."

This review is dedicated to Ari, the perfect stalker.

First of all, the combination of a stalker assassin and a loco girl in a Lily White fashion was enticing already to begin with. But look, I didn’t count on loving Ari this much. Some of his inner monologues made me scream, I swear. And the way he’s rationalizing to justify literally everything he’s doing in a way that almost makes sense 🥰 He’s managing to be darky twisty possessive and toxic (like we love). At the same time, he goes out of his way to make sure she’s independent and free? But WITHOUT being cringey?

He might’ve used her dead father (whom he killed) as an excuse to bond with her. Stalked her since she was 16 while he was at the tender age of 26. Also, he might’ve been a tad too angry with Adeline for being But look, he kept it to himself and no one is perfect, so I’m not gonna hold it against him.

5 things I adore about Ari:

1. His sweet words <3

"Tell me you don’t want me now. I dare you, Adeline. Try to convince me you don’t want my fingers inside you, that you don’t want me to shove you down so I can take the first taste of this greedy little cunt."

2. The way he looks after her <3

"I’ve been the silent specter that counts the boys and men she’s stumbled through without concern for her reputation. Thirteen, not that I’m counting, and if you judge her for it, I’ll gut you and laugh while you scream."

3. His taunts <3

"Just so you know, she did look beautiful with my cock in her mouth. It took her a little bit to adjust to the size, but that’s to be expected after the disappointment you had to offer."

4. His poetic mind <3

"It's never the dangers that lurk in the shadows you have to worry about, it's the ones you know. The people who can turn your world upside down without any effort at all. The terrifying monsters that sneak up when you least expect it to steal your heart and drive you insane."

5. The way he knows what's best for her <3

"I will have you in the end. I will keep you. I will own you because I’ve been the shadow protecting you all these years from all the other pricks who only wanted to destroy you."

Also I have a message for Lily White: When you're done with Lincoln's book, I expect an ARC request, bc I need to gatekeep him before anyone else gets the opportunity. Thanks.

***5 "His little monster!!!" stars***

"I'm not the hero in our story. Never have been. And you need to remember that. I'm just a man with an obsession that's lasted too fucking long, the truth of it carved into every bone, seared into every muscle..."

In a matter of two months, Lily White had managed to become one of my #1 authors!!!
Honestly, i don't even care to read the blurbs before diving headfirst to her books!!!!
Her writing skills amaze me, her characters captivate me, her plots are making me tingle with every twist and i can not understand how she manages to give such unique stories each time and without reminding us anything from her previous books!!!
Literally, I'm bowing to her talent and i will be forever a huge FAN of hers!!!

"It's too bad my secrets are exactly what make Adeline's dreams of what I am to her impossible."

Last month, I've read two books about stalking and i wasn't impressed at all!!! They left me unsatisfied and with weird thoughts about the stalking matter, and then came Lily and put me in the right place.
This is how it should be a book about a stalker...
Of course, she managed to make the story more complicated from every aspect, and I loved her for that...
This wasn't a short book by any means, but i could read the double size of that...
She is that good in what she is doing and she is managing to pull me under her spell every single time!!!

"She's oblivious.
Just like always.
To the danger walking next to her.
To a presence that is darker than she could ever imagine."

I loved this story very much...
I loved Ari and Adeline... Their story was dark and twisted... Complicated but simple... Imperfectly perfect....
Everything started a fateful night where Ari took the life of Adeline's father...
His only mistake??? He turned to look behind and that enigmatic girl who was crying above her dead father captivated him for a life...
And that's how their story had started...
That's how an obsession had started...
That's how Ari pulled in his hoodie and his eyes didn't left Adeline's sight for almost seven years...

"I was ten years older than her.
A trained killer.
A skilled assassin.
But I became one more thing on the night I first saw her:
A stalker.
A constant shadow.
And the man that would protect her from the world."

Seven years that he was watching her and protected her crazy ass.
Seven years which they didn't make his obssession to fade away... On the contrary....
But he never allowed himself to become a part of her life...
But now, something is changing....
Ari let her go in a way, but his little monster is losing herself day by passing day in a marriage that seems very good, but which is hiding too many secrets...
And he is refusing to see his once vibrant girl to become a shell of herself...
Now, he is determined to remind her in every cost who she used to be...
And a crazy ride is starting...

"Underneath the polished, proper, exterior, I know someone else exists.
Obviously, she won't admit it to herself, but whatever is trapped is fighting back. She's sheding the fake person in her sleep. Shoving away the husband I suspect is the influence forcing her inside a gilded cage."

Well, this wasn't an easy ride... but the journey was worth it!!!
Ari wasn't the best man out there, but i liked how protective he was of Adeline. Even though it was a contrast to who he really was.
I loved in which depths he was diving to turn her to whom she was used to be...
And in the process, he took a bite of the forbidden fruit that he was craving for years and right or wrong, it didn't matter... Adeline was always his and he was never letting her go!!!

"The only thing I'm doing now is accepting what I've always known."
"And what's that?"
"That Adeline belongs to me. And I'm not willing to share her anymore."

As for Adeline??? Adeline was a tragic figure...
She used to be wild, crazy, reckless, but she was broken....
Broken because of a numerous things...
But one day, she decided that she had to grow up and that was her downfall!!!
She always felt a present around her, her shadow and her mind... let's say that it wasn't in a very right place, but i loved her for that reason...
She was lost inside herself and she was needed someone to guide her back to who she used to be...
And that person as fucked up as it sounds, it was Ari!!!

"He terrifies me.
And I love him for it.
Love that he stands over me... watching.
But he is also diaphanous, and I can never hold onto him no matter how hard I grip."

"I'm so used to feeling empty that I don't know how to fight against a man that somehow fits inside me like the second half of my soul."

God, i loved this couple very much!!!
The atmosphere around them was sparkling everytime that they were in each other's presence!!!
They were bound together, even though they couldn't recognize it from the beginning!!!
Honestly, I'm accusing Ari for not acted earlier, but i can understand his reasons to stay away from Adeline...
As for Adeline??? God, she made so many mistakes and her biggest one was to get married!!!
Yeah, yeah!!! I know what you're thinking!!! There was cheat in here??? Ughhh!!!
Of course, there was cheating, but it was so well-documented...
So don't judge this book only for that, because i can guarantee you that this story was so tragically beautiful and i totally recommend it if you're a fan of dark suspenseful romances...

"She doesn't need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself.
I'm more than happy to oblige."

"Interest.
Curiosity.
Heat.
And longing. That's the worst feeling. A very wrong feeling. I'm a married woman. I shouldn't be thinking this way about another man."

And before i close my review, i want to share with you my hate for Grant.
Nope, i won't justified it!!! If you have read the book, you already know what i'm talking about!!!!
And then i want to share with you my love for Lincoln!!!
I loved this man so much and honestly, i would love to read his own story one day!!!
Please read this book!!!! TRUST ME!!!

"It's never the dangers that lurk in the shadows you have to worry about, it's the ones you know. The people who can turn your world upside down without any effort at all. The terrifying monsters that sneak up when you least expect it to steal your heart and drive you insane."

Do you know those presents you really, really want?
The kind that you can only dream of ever getting?
Well.....i found it in my inbox!
The news that i could download my very own ARC of The Danger You Know!
It felt like my birthday ánd Christmas all wrapped up in one dark, shiny present, and i couldn’t wait to open it.
As usual, the characters are strong and f*cked up,but that’s what i love most.
And as usual, this is a story that haunts you, long after you’ve read the last page.
And,again as usual, you have to love the unique darkness that Lily wraps you in.
If that’s the kind of story you enjoy,i recommend you read this one.
And if you’re familiar with Lily’s story’s,you’ll be happy to see old friends as well.....

Adeline has lost her parents at a very young age.
Her mother of an illness, her father because he killed himself.
She is a complex girl, with a sleeping disorder.
She is a girl that has demons, lurking in the dark.
If only she knew that they are real....

Ari is the man that killed her father.
And after seeing Adeline’s devastation after finding him,he does something he never thought he’d do....
He starts to keep an eye on her.
And once he does,he can’t stop.
It gets to a point where he needs to know every little thing about her.

Where it leads, you will have to find out yourself.
I will say this,Ari is nót a good man,at all.
And he is no hero, not at all.
But sometimes you don’t need a hero.....

I ám left with one question......
Lily, will Lincoln get his own story please?

Ari was the dark pretense in Adeline's life he been there since the day he killed her father, she wasn't suppose to be there but she was and now the guilt of what he done to her has eaten him alive. So now Ari watch her. He is her shadow, her protector, her stalker and now her lover who has taken her from the man she calls husband. I watched her for seven years and now he don't deserve her, he don't understand her like I do, she is dying on the inside and I am the only one that can see her. Adeline Cabot is mine and I will remind her of the feisty, sinister, little monster, no prisoner taking girl she once were. I will take her in the dirty alleys and halls because that is the man that I am. Ari is not the hero he is the shadow and the devil in disguise behind the beautiful, dark body of his. He will build her up to only tear her down once she learns the truth of her abducter, lover and stalker. But only Ari can chase away the nightmares and make Adeline burn like no other. A must, dirty read!!!!

Holy heck!!! This is one dark stalker-licious tale.

I’ve always loved a hero that is consumed by the heroine, obsessed to the point of doing ANYTHING for her. I found him in Ari. It’s been ages since I’ve loved such a twisted hero but despite the dark vein that runs through him, Ari won me over almost immediately.

Adeline had issues as a young woman and I found it a bit difficult to connect with her in the beginning. However, as Ari watches her from the shadows and takes notes of the changes in her life, I too found myself growing concerned for the new normal she had found. It didn’t take long for me to begin to connect to her. She is a complicated heroine and the perfect choice for Ari.

This is definitely a twisted story laced with subject matter that many will take exception to - the blurb is pretty clear on that point. I found myself a bit conflicted but I knew what I was signing up for when I began. It didn’t take long for me to cheer this couple on.

This is a lengthier book but it moves with a pace and plot that will keep you turning the pages. The steam level is unimaginable as Ari dirty talks his way through the pages. You won’t easily find another hero and heroine to melt your Kindle like this couple do. While there are not an abundance of secondary characters, you will definitely want to meet Lincoln and will then join the masses screaming for his story. I’m sure this author will have a riot on her hands if she doesn’t supply us with one.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to those who enjoy a darker read with an obsessed hero.

Ari is everything I should hate but instead I totally adore him.

Lily White has once again created a masterpiece of a story, involving two very dysfunctional individuals and on very messed up situation. I want to say it was like watching a car crash but that results in devastation and destruction, whereas Ari and Adeline collided together in a way that resulted in something amazing. It was a long and at times painful process, their journey fraught with misery and heartache, but through it all was a connection and passion that most can only aspire to.

Ari isn't just playing a game, I realize. He designed the board, carved the pieces and painted the dots on the dice.
It wasn't good enough to linger in my world without my knowing it, he had to drag me kicking and screaming into his.

The writing held me spellbound and even though the plot foreshadows and indeed at times clearly spells where it will go, what will happen, the story still never felt predictable. This is just so unique, so different, so.... so Lily. There were so many times I wondered how this would end, wondered how I WANTED it to end, wondered if expecting a HEA was too much and whether it needed one.

Buckle up for one rollercoaster, bone shaker of a ride. One that will spin the world on it's axis and leave you both shaken AND stirred. A ride that will take you up to such heights, just for the sole purpose of dropping you so far and so fast that your heart will be in your throat and you will worry both for your very survival and sanity. In The Danger You Know Lily White has created a story, a world that will stay with you. Characters come and characters go, but Ari and Adeline will remain for a long time. One of those unicorn stories that doesn't fade with the passage of time but instead wedges itself into your heart, mind and soul.

It's never the dangers that lurk in the shadows you have to worry about, it's the ones you know. The people who can turn your world upside down without any effort at all. The terrifying monsters that sneak up when you least expect it to steal your heart and drive you insane.

When I began reading the book, I did think it might only be a 4 star "really liked" book. However Ari refused to have any of that nonsense and quickly informed me that it was 5 stars or he was leaving and wouldn't be looking back. So firmly put in my place I enjoyed the rest of what is a twisted, tormented and tremendous story, one where it was also lovely to catch a glimpse of Rebecca and Aiden out in the 'real world'. I'm going to risk his wrath though and compromise on 4.5 stars average.

I've not even talked about Lincoln yet. If ever there was a character who needed their own book he is one - don't let me down Lily! I fell in love with him almost as much as I did Ari, he really was amazing in his own right. At one point I was kinda rooting for a menage, but I think his relationship with Adeline was perfect. He made such a great foil to Ari but also allowed us to see another side to him too.

This is an absolute must read book, both for Lily White fans and for those who like a good, twisted read. It's not very dark in sexual terms, but it doesn't need to be, not with such a heartless hero and messed up situation.

I usually do not like stalker plot in my romance. Because I have not find a good author who can write a crazy, dark stalker. I found my perfect stalker in The Danger You Know. Miss White certainly know how to build a crazy, angry and mysterious stalker like Ari.

If my fantasy is stalker, I want my stalker like Ari. Now the plot is also amazing. Miss White putting a very complicated, dark and gritty plot. Until the end, I have to guess what is going to happen. I love this book very much.
The chemistry between Ari and Adelaine is hot and sizzle. Especially when Ari stalking Adelaine.

I certainly looking forward for the next book by Miss White. I hope Lincoln get his own book.

A Top Dark Romance read that is twisted AF and you won’t be able to let it go!!! This is a walk on the darkest side. Ari is the shadow that you think you see. He’s the feeling that you are being watched. He’s the man that will possess every part of your dark romance loving heart. You will be consumed by it.

Stalker.
Predator.
Killer.
Obsessed.
Devoted.

Adeline always felt a shadow, but she had no idea it was real. Her life has been in upheaval since her mother died and her father lost his will to live. Left mostly on her own, she was spiraling out of control.

Years of living on the edge, Adeline decides she needs to grow up. She finds the perfect guy and he gives her stability and the life she thinks she should lead. Too bad she loses herself in the process.

Adeline doesn’t realize her misery and how much she has changed until she meets a stranger and he shows her what she’s been missing. And so the stalker is no longer in the shadows, he’s the man that haunts her dreams.

Ari and Adeline share a complicated relationship. The truth will need to come out, to remind Adeline of who she is. It’s going to be shocking, yet enlightening.

I am a true lover of a dark anti-hero that will stop at nothing to protect what he loves. He’ll take what he wants, but sacrifice what he needs to love her right. Ari was exactly perfect for Adeline. This story is not sweet and flowery. It’s dark and disturbing. It’s twisted and told without remorse. It’s hauntingly beautiful.

This author is a gem I discovered this year. Now, I look forward to every release. Each of her story’s is unique and captivates me in it’s own way. I look forward to the next.

There are no words other than pure perfection!!!
Stalker Romances are not the normal read for me, I've read a couple, but I do enjoy dark reads and I love books written by Lily White so there was no way I was passing this one up. The way Lily White writes just pulls me into her world and doesn't let me go until the very last word and sometimes I'm stuck in that world for a while after, this book did just that for me.

Ari and Adeline‘s story is interesting. He certainly was a strong presence in her life, but she was completely unaware for a long period of time. They had some twists and turns and certainly quite a few odd shaped bumps on their road to everlasting love. As is the case with this author, it’s not your run-of-the-mill typical romance but it certainly has characters that you root for.

My Thoughts:
- Ari is classified as a stalker in the book blurb and I’m not sure that’s an accurate assessment. Stalker always conjures a creepy feeling and I honestly saw Ari as a bit more of a protector. Yes, some of his actions might be considered a bit obsessive, but he didn’t give me the heebie jeebies. 😉
- It wasn’t as dark as I was expecting. In fact, except for a couple scenes (that didn’t really last that long) I didn’t find this dark at all.
- Ari would be classified as an Anti-hero.
- Dual POV, which I always appreciate
- There was no understanding of why Ari had no conscience about killing someone. I know sometimes there is no reason for it, but I didn’t feel like any backstory was created to help the reader understand how he became so cold-hearted in the first place.
- Both of the main characters frustrated me at times
- I felt there were spots where the story dragged a bit
- A little bit of a twist at the end, and I’m not sure that I bought into it
- I’m really hoping that Lincoln 😍 gets his own book!!!
- I felt like I connected with Ari right away, but it took me a little bit longer to connect with Adeline.
- I did like the transformation of Adeline from a young, selfish, immature girl, to a weak and abused wife, to a strong woman with a back bone.
- Steam factor is 🔥🔥🔥
- Interesting to read a character who has narcolepsy. Unique insight.
- Triggers: cheating and abuse

Overall I enjoyed the story, and would recommend if the triggers are not an issue for you.

Quotes:
“We’re in a damn crypt with dead bodies tucked in the walls. This isn’t Disneyland.”

“I only just met him, but somehow, Ari has ripped out the lies I tell myself, only to shove them so far down my throat I choke on them.”

“I’m so used to feeling empty that I don’t know how to fight against a man that somehow fits inside me like the second half of my soul.”

“the space around Ari whispers of danger, of secrets, of hidden agendas and desires that are so utterly wrong they’re not spoken about by respectable people.”

“She doesn’t need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself.”

“I guess that’s the thing with enticing a devil to love. We’ll go to the depths of Hell for you without any concern for whether it’s right or wrong.”

A 5 Star Seductively Written Stalker Romance!

"But sometimes even the ugliest of stories can be beautiful, and ours has been fucked from the beginning."

I'm sure you're wondering why a stalker would be seductive? If you're like me, there's no reason, the more twisted, the better. And of course Lily White always delivers something unexpected, yet exceedingly well thought-out, and definitely provocative!

Ari and Adeline's story is a whirlwind of obsession, lust, and insane intensity! I was completely unhinged while reading, goosebumps along my neck. This book will have you closing your curtains and leaving them open at the same time. This story will have you hoping a stranger is lurking in your alley. Stranger danger has nothing on this book! And as crazy as it sounds, it's darkly romantic at the same time.

“I guess that’s the thing with enticing a devil to love. We’ll go to the depths of Hell for you without any concern for whether it’s right or wrong.”

The characters are originally written, imperfections and all. The definition of flawed, perfect example of self-growth, even if that depraved path leads to growth. I honestly laughed at these lunatics. It's disturbing, but real. A middle finger to certain norms. I couldn't get enough. And I'm not the least bit concerned because of it. LMAO! Morals? What's that?

"I don’t care what the fairytales and happily ever afters tell you, this is life, and it’s fucking brutal."

Brutal and strangely beautiful wraps up this story. I ate this up like a chocolate bar, never wanting the deliciousness to end. It's a craving that this author usually serves. An outstanding, dark romance with a smidge of captive to keep you guessing. You'll fall in love or fall apart with this book!

I could not connect. I know I am in the minority. I love stalker books, especially when the stalkers are assassins. What did not work, the hero stalks the heroine for years and the heroine marries someone else. I just don’t get why the hero was so obsessed with the heroine. I also don’t understand if the hero was so obsessed with the heroine why he would allow her to have a two year relationship with OM and get married. Maybe I missed something. This was not for me.

I think we all yearn to be the center of the universe when it comes to our partners. But this love, obsession and just plan ole stalking took that want to have one person focus on only you to another level. This book was riveting. I enjoyed each page, the violence, the passion and the suspense. Ari was this sexy dark broody guy, with killer looks, rage and income. Adeline was naive, young, ill and the focus of his obsession.

"I’m not the hero in our story. Never have been. And you need to remember that. I’m just a man with an obsession that’s lasted too fucking long, the truth of it carved into every bone, seared into every muscle, and spread out over my entire penthouse so that there’s no hiding it once Adeline wakes up.”

Try this book! Their love story is brutal but worth the pain.

A solid 4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She doesn’t need a hero to swoop in and save her, she needs a villain who drags out the hero she has within herself.

I’ll be honest: I love stalkers. Well, reading about them, at least. Throw a little dark humor in, maybe a dash of self-awareness, and I’m set. So, when I heard Lily was releasing a dark stalker romance, I was HYPE. I haven’t read her entire catalogue like a lot of my friends, but I’ve read enough to know that she’s quite talented. I also know that she isn’t afraid to get DARK. Turns out this one wasn’t all that dark, at least in comparison to her other books, but it was still suspenseful, exciting, and different.

And that’s what frightens me the most: I’m so used to feeling empty that I don’t know how to fight against a man that somehow fits inside me like the second half of my soul.

Ari has been watching Adeline since circumstances brought them together years before, when she was 16. Adeline (AKA “little monster”) suffers from narcolepsy, and she also has a propensity for self-destruction (as many young people do). She gets into a lot of trouble during her youth, which is to be expected considering her circumstances and overall lack of supervision. Eventually, she calms down and gets married, but she loses herself in the process. No longer is she a little monster; she has been tamed by someone that definitely isn’t worthy. Can Ari stand by and watch this happen? His obsession with her grew out of an unexpected mix of responsibility, guilt, and fascination. Will he be able to let her go?

I thought I’d found someone I could understand as well as I know myself. I thought, for once, there was another person in this world that is as tragic and empty as me.

Ari is a villain, not a hero, and I loved him all the more for it. I also loved his BFF Lincoln, and I have high hopes he’ll get his own book. We get cameos by some people from the Master series, but I haven’t read that so I didn’t really care. The best parts about this story are Ari’s dark humor, Adeline’s unique personality (before she changed), the description of her sleeping disorders, and... well... how Ari loved Adeline for exactly who she was, even if he was a psychopath. He knew he wasn't the best thing for her, and maybe he was right, but what he didn't realize is that there are people out there that are even worse than him. Or, maybe I should say they had worse intentions than he did. Ari only ever wanted to build her up, and that's what made him so damn amazing in spite of his obvious shortcomings.

"I will have you in the end. I will keep you. I will own you because I’ve been the shadow protecting you all these years from all the other pricks who only wanted to destroy you.”

The only complaint I have is that the first half or so did drag a little, but once it got going, it was nonstop action. I also didn't see the twist coming (about their shared past). I wouldn't say I loved that twist, but I didn't hate it either. It seemed kind of unnecessary, since Adeline was going to forgive him anyway. It was almost like Lily spent the whole book convincing us that Ari was evil, but then in the last few pages, she started making excuses for him. But still, it really didn't matter. I was already invested and loved the characters for who they were. Also, this really isn't all that dark of a read, so I would recommend it for anyone that can handle moderately dark, suspenseful stories!

Frantic breath colliding with calm. Frightened eyes battling determination. Soft versus hard. Light versus dark. We are opposites in every way, and yet still so very much the same.

“I guess that’s the thing with enticing a devil to love. We’ll go to the depths of Hell for you without any concern for whether it’s right or wrong.”
