It looks like Calum Best has an ulterior motive for being in the Celebrity Big Brother house – he has an upcoming movie to promote.

The flick is called Dangerous Game, comes out on June 16, and is described as "a story full of action and drama, both on and off the pitch".

It sees actor and producer Calum play a top footballer who threatens to destroy his career by doing a spot of armed robbery.

With his dad being the late George Best, Calum will have had no trouble playing a footballer on-screen, although we're not sure where he learned to hold up a petrol station with a gun...

The movie tells the tale of Chris Rose from Essex, who finally gets signed up by his favourite Premier League team. But Chris soon gets involved with an organised crime syndicate who wants him to fix important matches for them.

As one might imagine, it doesn't go well, and Chris ends up resorting to armed robbery to pay back the Russians everything they're owed. And he needs to do it all without his football club finding out, to ensure his bright career stays intact.

And that's not all this movie has to offer...

Singer Darren Day dons a Russian accent to play one of the menacing mobsters, while former cage fighter Alex Reid gives Calum/Chris a talking to when he (presumably) figures out what he's up to.

Elsewhere, former TOWIE star Ricky Rayment plays a lead detective, who takes Calum away in handcuffs at one point:

Darren Day's wife Stephanie Day also joins the cast as Chris Rose's mum in the flashback scenes.

Ex on the Beach model Jess Impiazzi stars as the love interest, while Love Island's Malia Arkian and Page 3 girl Lucy Pinder also feature at some point.

But until the movie is out, the only acting we'll see from Calum is him pretending he doesn't hate being in a house with Kim Woodburn and Jedward.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (January 19) at 9pm, on Channel 5.
