Very little diversity but great people and community and i enjoyed my time there. I made the greatest friends ever while attending. But I did notice staff is a bit ignorant towards other cultures. I myself being a muslim felt out of place and as a black muslim as well it didn’t help much more. Lot of students have n-word scandals but no one really gets in trouble for it. We’re known for our fights which happen quite often i think the most recent one was 2 days agai at this point in time. But the teachers, custodians, and hall monitors and all great and wonderful people.
My experience at Wheaton North High School has mostly been great. One of the best things here are the teachers. Every teacher I have had since my 4 years of being here never disappoint. The teachers are very supportive, engaged, caring, encouraging, and kind. They have never failed to make me a better and growing student. Without them, I would not have been able to achieve such high grades. Another thing I love about this school is that it has many options and resources for students of different personalities and circumstances. From clubs, extra support groups, places to study, to extracurriculars, there is something everyone. However, with so many positives, there are some negatives. Something I noticed was that there were Instagram accounts of different topics about Wheaton North. A lot of these accounts did not have nice things and posted pictures of people who likely would not like their photo on the internet. We need more control on the cyber aspect of our community.
The four years I spent at Wheaton North was probably my best experiences so far. While I was there, I participated in many clubs that aided in my enjoyment. I was in band, the marching band, badminton, SADD club, was an TA in the Deans office my senior year and participated in many more activities. I also the teachers there were very helpful and understanding when I came to mental health. I’m glad I got to spend my teenage years at Wheaton North.
