Decent workplace
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 4 March 2024
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt wasn't a bad place to work. Had more a problem with the job than did with the company. Pay is okay, lots of opportunity to move up and make more money.

Was ok while it lasted
Supply Coordinator (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 5 February 2024
Only lasted a few months before layoffs hit. But it was a good place to work at. Good benefits, good coworkers, and an interesting industry to work in.

This company do not want older aircraft technitions period
Aircraft Technician (Former Employee) - YWG HEAVY MAINTENANCE BASE WINNIPEG - 2 December 2023
I have applied numerous times to air canada for aircraft maintenance positions on line for toronto and quebec and even with my qualifications and certs and 20+years in the trade the only response I got back was all negative like we do not want you as a employee your to old to have around and work as a tech their afraid the older experienced techs will show the younger mechanics a thing or two as regards to proper ways to do aircraft maintenance. I can read air canada,s hr and management very well this company has really gone down hill they are lost in space from the older day,s in aviation and most of the aviation companies I see today are all the same this day and age today air canada,s management team has 0 people skills it,s all business only people do not matter whatsoever the aircraft mechanics are all treated like gremlins working for a bean counter operation this is the way I see things today this world we live in today is a lost cause the people are treated garbage.
Pros
I see nothing good working for air canada
Cons
The management and hr have 0 people skills to offer employee, S whatsoever

Aircraft Mechanic (Current Employee) - Winnipeg,Manitoba - 1 December 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Great benefits, good working environment with superb assistance from.senior management personnel What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Nite shift, it's hard to adjust to days off after a nite shift. Luck of proper sleep when you're off What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Awesome, different groups of people from different cultures work at Air Canada.its a diverse environment which everyone thrives in. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Focus on getting the plane out of the hangar on time, remove, and reinstall parts that are defective . Clear snags that are open if parts are available. And perform a service check as required

Fun experience, but was a good company
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 9 April 2023
Underpaid, overworked because of seniority, overgrown highschool dramatics, favoritism from management. Look else where this company is barely any better than the other airlines. Union also doesn't care. Benefits are not great anymore, company likes to brag about caring for you but typical bs. wants to milk profits instead of actually being a good employer.
Pros
Hours
Cons
Work environment

Toxic workplace
Senior Manager (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 30 January 2023
They are incompetent directors with a whole lot of office drama and politics. The grossest place I've worked. I Hung in there just for the flight benefits, or else I would have resigned in the first year. Very low pay because lots of people apply. coworkers are always looking to backstab, an unacceptable level of gender bios its ridiculous
Pros
floght benefits
Cons
everything else sucks

Inspiring workplace with challenges
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 14 October 2022
Oversll the company is great, a nice work environment and they value the employee with certain exclusive benefits such as free flight tickets but bases on seniority.

Work flexibility/availability
SA (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 17 August 2022
No work flexibility. For PT they expect you to be available to work 24/7. Shift trade is total BS if none of you colleagues don't want to help you out or don't care. Too much seniority dramas. Too much politics especially if someone didn't like you. They will try to being you down.Gossip spreads fast like a wildfire. Word of advice, find work elsewhere.

Air canada
Station Attendant (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 22 April 2022
Nice place to work but not enough salary. There are great travel benefits for travel and good pension plan. They should work on salary because not all the employees are equally compensated.

Union
Machinist fitter (Former Employee) - Winnipeg hanger - 19 August 2020
The down side to working at AC was the union culture, especially with the senior employees who were always making sure you knew they were the last to go on a layoff...a lot of dead wood working there due to the union.
Pros
Great perks
Cons
union

quite possibly the best job i've worked
Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 January 2020
The job required the ability to receive a production order, work the aircraft and have quality control sign off on the completed job. Have skills with tools including buying air tools, working 4/4 shifts, weekends, overtime , and shift work

Wonderful place to work
HR Specialist (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 9 December 2019
I think the company is one of the best I've ever worked for. The communication, the freedom to express ideas and help innovate, the travel benefits, health benefits, and overall job satisfaction are amazing.
There is a reason we have been in Canada's Top 100 Companies for many years and it shows.
Of course not every position is perfect, but I have no complaints whatsoever.
