Not the original fort but a reproduction built on the site. There is an introductory film in the barn/visitors center. The barn also houses some farm implements and a Conestoga wagon on the second floor which are worth checking out. The person on duty offered to give us a guided tour but we chose to do a self guided tour with a guide sheet provided. The fort is simple with a few items on display.

I take my family every year to enjoy this wonderful fort. You won't be disappointed. Perfectly restored to revolutionary war period, we love it. Visit the Amish stores close by while visiting.

This site is nothing compared to what we thought it was. They claim this is from the revolutionary war and the buildings are not rebuilt. The buildings are rebuilt. Will not be back.

My family and I went to the Fort for our first visit. The people who run it and are involved in the tours really know their history. They are dressed and they make the tour interesting. It's very interactive. There is a trail to hike and the land is beautiful and I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

The fort is a great reproduction of the original. Lots of interesting features. Guided walks give you information about the history of the fort & the area.
The visitor center & shop in the adjacent barn also worth a visit

Althought this fort was only used for two years and despite the limited information available on this fort the orgainizers have done a great job in bring back this site back to life. The staff and volunteers very hard working, dedicated and knowledgeable no matter this involvement here. I was given a personalized tour by a summer student who had been working here for a number of summers. She was working on her degree in general studies but a minor in history. You can view a film than your tour starts in a display area than you work your way to the fort itself. You finally end up seeing a covered wagan than you can see were concerts are held within the barn. It hosts different views and has a well stocked gift shop. If you are into history like I am than this place is certainly worth your time coming here as it with be a positive plus learning experience overall.

The fort is a pleasant surprise in Altoona. We really enjoyed the tour along with my entire family. Unfortunately we were short of time but the tour guide utilized the time effectively to explain to us the nuances of each and every artifact. We were also able to recognize a pivot gun from India that was of the year 1257. Wow !!

I have wanted to visit this for years. I finally got the chance to walk around 7/20/19. There’s a small fee and the do take credit/debit cards. I think it’s worth the small fee. The fort is approximately where it was in the fort 1700s. There’s a small presentation and gift shop. The fort itself is small but very interesting. I’d definitely recommend a visit with about 2 hours to do a decent walk around. You can either walk yourself or a tour guide. I’d visit again but on a cooler day.

The fort is remotely located and has free parking. It is located in Sinking Valley. The staff wears colonial period attire. There is a nominal fee which is paid in the barn (gift shop).. There is a small museum in the adjoining room. You are shown a short film for background on the fort. When you are ready, the tour guide walks you around the grounds. She was thoroughly delightful and well informed. It was a very pleasant way to pick up some information about the region during the 18th century.

We went on the 4th of July last year when it was free to the public.
A great place to take the family if your kids are old enough to appreciate the revolutionary time period. There is also a nice little place above it to get souvenirs and food.

How long is the guided tour? Are there places to sit down and rest if you need to?

We only toured the fort itself, but they start off with a video in the gift shop/museum. The tour of the fort took about forty-five minutes. You might be able to sit down in a couple of the buildings to rest. They don't have any benches in the fort, but you might be able to sit on some of the furniture in the buildings.

What do they charge? Is the National Parks pass good there

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children under 12.
This is NOT a national park, so I doubt the pass is good.
