Touristy? Sure. Pricey? Of course. But a beautiful place to eat lunch overlooking the Piazza. This was the fay after my son was released from hospital after a 10 day stay. This walk around the beautiful square on such a lovely day helped us feel...normal, almost like tourists. We were lucky to be able to eat out as this was 2 days before Total Lockdown Covid-19. Turin, we will meet again under better circumstances!More

We were recommended to come here by a local. It is grand but it was empty & we soon found out why- the owner must have abandoned it. Why? Terrible service & very average food/coffee. Shame. But all businesses go through this. Hopefully they will...have the sense to sell & get out.More

You should have visited once you are in Torino. Nice, old bar with a very nice food selection and friendly staff. Easy to find in the middle of the city and nice outdoor seating. Great for the summer. While we were visiting, a pidgeon was...flying in the restaurant, but it was respecting the location and did not drop anything. The staff tried to redirect him out, the pidgeon was smarter and stayedMore

Staff impolite, forgetful and slow, needed to ask 2 or 3 times something we wanted.. No smiles/please/thank you /you're welcome. We left without our coffees after waiting for them for 30minutes... Only good thing was the central location.

Bad service with young unexperienced staff who forgot three times what we ordered, was slow and unattentive. We expected a nice aperitivo buffet but got just a few bites next to our drinks. However, the worst was the food! Never oder a vegetarian sandwich! It...was dry, unsalted, burned and filled with also burned savoy cabbage… So sad, as the place is really beautiful!More

Dinner was excellent. Beer was crisp and fresh tasting. Service was friendly and patient. I had a pizza with spicy sausage. It was a generous serving and piping hot. On another note, I realized 2 days after I ate there that I left my credit...card there. I went back and they had it at the register. Thanks for your honesty and assistance!More

Caffe San Carlo is located in the corner of Piazza San Carlo. It is a busy place and so the service seems distracted as others have said and they act like you should know how everything works, BUT you need to experience the interior of...this place. The chandeliers, the gold gilding, the opulence! A restaurant harking back to another time and still in existence today over 125 years later! We enjoyed this restaurant during what we would call "happy hour" - and maybe in Italy it is called "Spritz Hour". Caffe San Carlo has a 10 euro special until 18:30. Order a spritz for 10 euros and get all the little delicacies that are found in the center of the restaurant. These little delicacies include wafers with caviar, fresh fruit on little wafers, smoked fish and even vegetarian options. Go back several times! I love finger food delicacies so it fed my soul!More

They did not take my order right coz he was too arrogant to listen and attitude of the 2 waiter are amazingly ignorant and arrogant, that even a glitch of a smile is given and yet they are in hospitality industry. What is wrong with...being friendly. Is it because they feel so high class by working in fancy place? Or just attitude problem in general...More

At the top end of the square this old establishment is hard to miss. Excellent coffee and meals, though I only had coffee. It says it had WiFi. On the day I was there it had gone missing. A cafe full of history.

While visiting Torino for a weekend we had 2 “stops” at Caffe San Carlo. The first one for a coffee/ thee and some snacks. This was served correctly, but it took ages to get the bill settled. We had to ask 4 or 5 times....This can happen, but business was just ok, not very busy. Given the good location we ordered the next day some afternoon drinks and it took 15 minutes to get these served. Just at the moment we thought about just leaving our drinks arrived. And also this time just paying was sooooo slow. Not being in a hurry at all, but just in for a drink it was well ....annoying. And yes, staff was available. So, just a recommendation....face the terrace, the guests are paying the bill.More

Enter and you will enter a time machine. It dates back to 1822 and every corner, every ceiling, every floor remains the way they were then. Think of marble, velvet, gold and crystal chandeliers. Got it? Precisely. It is difficult to describe an atmosphere, a...je ne sais quoi. My suggestion: take a deep breath, enter and live a unique experience. Oh and before I forget, before entering: take off the top hat.More

Based in a corner of the pretty Piazza San Carlo, in central Turin. We visited for lunch and found a nice corner table in the outside seating area on a warm spring day. We had mains of veal coteleta and veal steaks, both perfectly cooked...and served with tasty side dishes (fried potatoes, courgette etc.). The other food served to other diners looked similarly appetising. We finished with excellent espresso coffees and small gianduja chocolates. The only small downsides were slow service when waiting for the bill and being pestered by beggars, although this would not deter us from visiting again whilst in Turin.More

A very famous coffee place in torino , old more than a century . A very pleasant outdoor in one of the most beautiful square of the city . And it was a sunny and warm mid September day , at 1 pm . You...are in the country of good food and torino is one if its capitals. Can u imagine mediocre food ( to be quite generous ) ? But that's what you get . Why ? Please fix it. Sent from my iPhoneMore

This could be such a beautiful, old café, but it's potential is spoiled by sad decorations and loud italian radio playing..
