The season of Fall is really spectacular because all of the trees here turn yellow, red, orange, and it is really beautiful. Works Here: most of the callicoon residents are not full time. they have summer/weekend homes that they travel to from new york city. the full time residents all greet each other by name on the side walk. taking into account the size of this town (it's REALLY small), they're doing an amazing job. there's a lovely, well managed park for kids, access to the river, good areas for walking or biking, antique stores, thrift store, cafe, grocery store, movie theater, library, great food, kind and welcoming residents.... Niche User: Living in the country is not for everyone. There is not much access to constant entertainment like nightlife, sports, dance clubs, cell service apps and games or walking distance events. I personally love it out here. I enjoy being surrounded in nature, watching and being a part of wildlife in my own back yard, and looking over cliffs and beautiful scenic views in silent moments or with friends on a hike. The windy roads and little traffic are great for a motorcycle ride on a nice day. There is access to fishing and hunting which are some of my favorite activities to engage in during my free time. Removing yourself from technology and spending time outside enhances your lifestyle, health, and happiness in my opinion. It is an ideal place for raising children because time spent in nature teaches them to be listeners, observers, resourceful, and providers from the bounty they have access to.... Read 20 reviews

Current Resident: Woodridge is a pleasant small town for the most part. Most of the town consists of one street. I like the small town feel and that they have a lovely little park and some hiking trails. I would really like to see more effort put into cleaning the park up. There are many geese that leave droppings behind and to make matters worse, many people bring their dogs there and do not clean up after them.... Read 1 review

Current Resident: Neversink lacks all kinds of things you can find anywhere. It is peaceful and beautiful, mountains, fields and forest, decent people who have lived there a long time, history, it’s middle class at best. Current Resident: Narrowsburgh lays quietly on the Delaware river during the winter season. Most of the indigenous fowl have migrated south, and everything is a pure silent white. Many of the residence have also left for the season, leaving the streets vacant and ghostly. However in the summer months, the little river town flourishes from the incoming of summer residence and vacationers, all trying to immerse themselves in the rural nature of up-state New York. Current Resident: Great place to raise a family. My family and I moved to Liberty, NY in 2018. My kids love it and their school. I'm fond of the relax lifestyle this town offers. It's quiet. It snows a lot but everyone is friendly. Nearby Resident: I lived quite close to Highland for some time. It is a small town but is very nice. They have many lovely small businesses and the schools are safe. They have a park with a trail that goes all over and straight into New Paltz. Big stores are only about a 10-to-15-minute drive with Kingston, New Paltz, and Poughkeepsie surrounding the small town. My only complaint is the sidewalks, which I wish extended to my area and to more spaces, such as to nearby stores.... Read 2 reviews
