Quebec is a province in Canada that occupies an area of 595,391 square miles and has an estimated population of 8,439,925. It is bordered by the province of New Brunswick and four US states (New York, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont) to the south. Quebec is bordered by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence to the east, by Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay to the north, and by Hudson Bay, James Bay, and the province of Ontario to the west. It is the largest Canadian province by area, the second-most populous province after Ontario, and the only province to have a population that is predominantly French-speaking.
