1. See Blues'n Jazz Rallye

Each year, the Blues'n Jazz Rallye attracts thousands of music lovers for an eclectic mix of the finest blues and jazz in the picturesque districts of Pfaffenthal, Clausen and the Grund. The otherwise busy roads in this part of the city are closed to traffic for the duration of the event, creating a giant open-air party.

An impressive number of internationally acclaimed musicians give live performances on stages set up all across the Old Town, giving visitors a truly unique way to experience this UNESCO heritage site. This year's line-up includes Jordan Rakei, Robert Cray and The New Power Generation, Prince's original backing band.

2. Hear Richard Bona & Alfredo Rodriguez

Richard Bona and Alfredo Rodriguez are two exceptional musicians. One plays bass, the other piano, but both have a love for music and performing that is just infectious. This weekend they're playing the Echterlive festival in Echternach along with Pol Belardi. They were going to be joined by Pino Palladino & Blake Mills, who unfortunately had to cancel for health reasons. Still awesome, so get your tix!

3. Check out Comic Strip Festival

American comics, French/Belgian comics, manga: There's something for everyone at this weekend's Comic Strip Festival in Contern. Meet authors and artists, get your book signed and participate in little activities, like face painting, a bouncy castle or fun with clowns.

4. Discover northern Luxembourg

5. Explore Night of Culture

This weekend's Night of Culture in Esch is all about contrasts. Nature is as present and important as the city's infrastructure or transformed steel plant. People from different backgrounds and age groups meet every day in its districts. The programme includes a walk through the animal park, a gourmet experience, stargazing, concerts, dance and the smallest disco in the world, which fits one person.

6. Get some beach time in the City

The theatre beach is back! Running until 11 September, the square outside the City theatre is transformed into a large, 350m2 sandbox with deckchairs and parasols, a pétanque track, various plants and trees as well as chalets offering refreshments. See, you don't have to get to Ostend for getting sand stuck between your toes!

7. Attend Eastcoast Festival in Mertert

This is already the 8th edition of the Eastcoast Festival in Mertert, bringing together bands from the country and abroad. This year's show is headlined by German punkrockers Swiss + die Andern, as well as Versus You, Stayfou, The Velvet and Ferocious Few.
