The Wenceslas Square Hotel offers a mix of experiences, with some guests praising its stylish rooftop bar and cleanliness, while others find the atmosphere marred by outdated decor and uncomfortable rooms. While the service can be hit or miss, with instances of both friendliness and neglect, the hotel's location is widely appreciated for its convenience to attractions and transport, despite some noise complaints. However, concerns about the value are prevalent, as numerous guests feel the rooms are cramped, not as advertised, and offer poor value for money.

Welcoming, friendly staff greeted me when I arrived. The building is fantasticly quirky, tall and thin, the lift takes you to the many floors. My accommodation was wonderfully unusual, just one room with the the bath and sink in the same room as the bed, and a tiny room in the corner where the toilet was. Very good free wifi, the bed was comfortable and the room was warm with your own fixed radiator if it did get chilly. The labyrinth of floors and corridors and stairs took you all around the building and eventually right up to the roof top cafe with a large outdoor seating area. I was only there for a couple of nights but enjoyed the experience and would stay there again. The only negative was as I was on the top floor it was like a converted attic, and the ceiling was very slanted so I kept bumping my head! Also there are no windows like a normal attic, so even though I was high up there was no view of the city, just a couple of skylights in the ceiling.

I was disappointed to find we had been allocated the very top and smallest room which was nothing like how the pictures looked. The room was in need of redecorating and refreshing and there was no viewing window only a small skylight which was very disappointing. The breakfast hall was very small also and again in dire need of renovation.
This being said, the hallways and stairs of the building were well kept and well restored to show their quaint beauty.

The location of the hotel was great for those wanting to visit old town and see the sights with most things within a 15 minute walk and the staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay.

Overall I was very underwhelmed by the hotel.

Was quite worried about our stay here after reading negative reviews prior to coming but had a really enjoyable stay! The room was massive, dated but very clean and had everything you could need (except a kettle :( ) Breakfast was really tasty, Wasn’t much of a cooked selection so my boyfriend struggled to find something to have however great selection of pastries, fruits, yogurts and cereals aswell as deli meats and cheeses. The hotel was quite noisy, as can be expected from an old building, and it is on the main road. We slept fine for the majority of our stay except for the last night when we were woken by a tractor protest however that couldn’t be helped! Overall, don’t give in to all the bad reviews on here, if you’re expecting a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed. However if you’re looking for a cheap, quirky stay in a great location this hotel is perfect

Great hotel, located close to Wenceslas square and 15-20 min walk from the Old Town, We've booked a triple room and we were given a huge room on the 4th floor- it was actually 2 rooms, one with 2 double beds, one with 1 double bed, plus 2 bathrooms, one with a shower only and one with a shower over the bath. We've had a view towards the museum. Cosy room, warm, toiletries included. No tea/coffee making facilities, no air-con (we didn't need it anyway!). Clean and well kept.
A bit noisy due to the busy road, but traffic did calmed down at night and was able to sleep ok. Pillows a bit flat, not to my taste, but I didn't mentioned to reception.
Receptionists were very nice and friendly. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel from 11 am until 4 pm on our last day.
Breakfast was good, good service, but as others have said, don't expect a full English. It's a good continental, with porridge, breads, cakes, cheese, ham and eggs, plus 3 hot options.
Recommended!

This hotel is perfectly placed for exploring the city.
The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean.
If you are above 5ft 10 then you will need to pay extra for the other rooms that aren't at the top of the building due to sloping ceilings, lets face it the price is amazing so don't complain if they give you a budget room. That being said it wasn't an issue for us and the room was more than adequate for our needs.
Breakfast was great everything you could want, just don't expect a full English as your in Prague.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Thank you to the lovely staff for a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

Horrible experience at Wenceslas Square Hotel. Checked in and was given a room filled with cigarette smell though the hotel had a non-smoking policy.

First room had a window which was filled with cigarette ash and we moved to a second room and it was without a window. Moreover, the air conditioned was spoilt as well with the room also smelling of cigarettes.

Mentioned to the hotel that as we had asthma and had difficulty breathing, we checked out within 2-3hours and requested a refund, but they only refunded 2/3 nights, with the manager refusing to refund the first night.

Do not book this hotel unless you want rooms with cigarette smell and especially for those with asthma, please find another hotel somewhere else.

Me and my partner came to Prague for our 4 year anniversary. We arrived late evening on a Thursday around 930pm at this hotel the check in was amazing straight forward. We had room 063 which was up 5 flights of stairs plus some more along the way. We had booked a double room which on booking was a nice spacious double. However, the room consisted of 2 single beds not even opposite one another on strange angles a tiny walk way, my partner is 5ft9 and couldn’t even stand up properly-the room was not clean. I was so upset- I go to the reception and ask and explain this is not what was sold to us ie the picture on the website and I had also booked a double room therefore it’s false advertising. After a lot of talking and explaining 45 minutes later I was shown pictures of the rooms left in the hotel which was all still twin rooms we took a twin room on the bases it was just for one night 012 and the next morning a deluxe room would be offered due to compensation. We had an agreement that the next morning at 11am after the receptionist had spoken to the manager would arrange a room suitable for the booking we had made and believed that we would get initially or even better due to the compensation. So next morning we head downstairs at 11am it’s a different receptionist they had no idea of this complaint we had made and no history of what was said the previous night. I had to explain again - he took my phone number and said he would message over WhatsApp to see what we can do but will be about 2/3pm. 5pm no message we approach the receptionist and he said we are not able to have the deluxe room but the is another room which was available. However the room was in the on the top floor again my partner couldn’t even stand up so we stayed in the twin room.

I am just writing this review to be mindful when booking this hotel they is a wide range of rooms which you may get within the same price range. My partner has stayed in hostels for 15 pounds per night and the room we was initially shown 063 was far worse than any.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the railway station, shopping street and the old city attractions. The attitude of the service staff is very good, the cleaning is very timely, and the room is very clean
There is no air conditioner, only two small electric fans

The location was great, only a 3 min walk from Wenceslas Square, which was very convenient for us. Our room was cozy, but we were thinking that maybe the hotel should invest more into some kind of renovation and modernization as some things seemed quite old-fashioned. What we especially liked was the generous breakfast, very kind and helpful staff and the view of the castle from the hotel terrace, which was truly breathtaking! We will be coming back.

Stayed at this hotel over the weekend and had big expectations however I was mortified when I arrived. Rudely greeted by the receptionist, she instantly started to list extra charges on top of the £90 a night I payed for. On the second day she approached me and claimed their was loud music coming from my room and I must pay €100 and i’ll loose my deposit. I was completely baffled considering past 1am the hotel sounds like a fully functioning brothel.

Furthermore, the accommodation is extremely outdated and the narrow walk ways and stairwells are dangerous. The cleaning staff also like to enter your room even with do not disturb on your door! My luggage was looked throw and even the safe in the closet had mysteriously been opened, thankfully nothing was in it.
