STUDENT ENTRY & HEALTH PROTOCOLS

Hello, students!

Welcome back to school!

To prioritize health and safety, we ask that everyone in our school follow these rules:

FACE COVERINGS & MASKS

All staff, students, and visitors over the age of 2 must wear a face covering in our school building.

While waiting for entry into the building, we ask that face coverings also be worn.

Anyone that does not have an acceptable face covering will be provided with one at entry.

An ACCEPTABLE face covering can be one that is at least two-layers and covers the nose & mouth:

Well-fitted cloth mask
Well-fitted disposable surgical mask

These UNACCEPTABLE face coverings are and not permitted:

Bandanas and neck gaiters
Face coverings with an exhalation valve or vent
Face coverings that completely cover/hide an individual's face, such as a ski-mask
Clear face shields can be worn but CANNOT be a substitute for a regular face covering that covers the nose and mouth

Social Distancing

All students will line up outside the building and remain at least 3 feet apart from one another. Vigorous PE activities or other high-risk activities require being 6 feet apart.

We ask all staff, students, and visitors to practice social distancing while in our building.

Hand Washing and Hygiene

All staff, students and visitors will frequently wash their hands using soap and water, or use at least 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

In all our classrooms, and offices, at the main desk and entryways, there are hand sanitizer stations. All incoming persons will use these hand sanitizer stations upon entry.

Students will clean their hands before and after eating, and before and after adjusting their face coverings.

Daily Health Screening

All staff, students and visitors entering our building will be required to present their completed DOE Health Screening.
Students and staff will complete these self-assessments at home by taking their own temperature, and identifying any potential symptoms of COVID-19.
Students and staff will click on the above link to sign-in and honestly answer each of the four self-assessment questions.
Students and staff will bring their completed health screenings on their phones/learning devices, and present to the appropriate School Safety Agent or DOE Entry Staff member for building clearance.
If a student does not have their phone/learning device with them, they will be required to fill out a manual screening form at entry. Their temperature will be taken at entry by a staff member.
Parents will ensure their child's temperature is taken, and completion of Health Screenings before they head to school. Earlier in the school year, oral thermometers were provided to families. Please reach out to your Parent Coordinator if you need a new thermometer, or have difficulty understanding how to complete Health Screenings.

School Specific Entrances

Our staff will guide students in, one at a time, to review Health Screenings, and to go through scanning.

To maximize social distancing, we will have two entrances open simultaneously. Please stand on your school's respective line for entry. Below you will find a map of where your school's lines will be.

Our school staff and School Safety Agents will be outside to help!

Doors will OPEN at 8:00am and CLOSE at 10:00am.

*A.F.S.E. students should begin lining up at 8:30am for entry.

**Some G.A.H.S students should begin lining up at 7:10 for zero period entry
