Gifted to the city in 1901 and named after the British Queen, it is an exquisite edifice.
With a façade styled in Beaux Arts ornateness, it is the wealthy British consul Daniel Barton who conceived and funded an auditorium with superb acoustics.
On each side are scripted the names of eight illustrious classical symphonic composers. At the centre is a gorgeous sculpture of a female figure that is an allegory of Harmony.
Realistic in portrayal Harmony was not without some controversy when first unveiled in 1894.

I was on a Suisse Romande concert in Victoria Hall, the conductor was Jonathan Nott and I enjoy Haydn and Beethoven music there. I bought the cheapest ticket, this was only 10 CHF, but I could enjoy the athosphere of the barock Victoria Hall enterior and fantastic music. Try it, if you travel to Geneva!!

I've been here countless times for concerts of all kinds, and the acoustics are excellent, though some of the seats have obstructed views. It was refurbished after a serious fire in the late 20th century.

Had the opportunity to attend the symphony on a Saturday at 1100 geared for families. There was a woman that spoke in French about what was going on in a symphony and about some of the instruments so that children could learn. I speak English so although I don’t know what she was saying I love the idea. The venue was great and the music wonderful. I’m so glad I had a chance to enjoy this and so reasonably priced at just 15 euro per ticket.

It's a pity that website won't inform you if there is a cafe, restaurant or something to plan your evening.
Welcoming was nice.
Toilets for women are always packed, how they can never planify that if the shows will gather more than 500 people WC are not proportional?. My "seat" was a normal chair with velour upholster that cost 75chf! in 2019, very pricey!!! and it was placed at 45° from the scene that made my back be kind of twisted the 2hours that the show last...
Could be better.

We attended a concert by l'Ochestre de la suisse romande at Victoria Hall. It's a small but beautiful concert hall with nice acoustics. Perhaps a few less positive points, though. The chair are generally quite hard, so it's not easy to stay seated for a longer time. Also, during the concert the temperature inside the hall increased enough to dry out the air, hence lots and lots of coughing by members of the (ageing) public. Why not distribute free "anti coughing candies" as is done in other concert halls around the world? Also, the bar accepts only cash (swiss francs, although they can give back in swiss francs even if you pay in euros), no credit cards.

Went to see a concert by the UN Orchestra that performed music from cinema (think Mission Impossible, James Bond, Shindlers List, Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast, etc) - it was super lovely!
The victorian setting itself is impressive, really worth going even if just to see the architecture and lavish design of the place.
There is a bar serving champagne etc.
Tickets prices range from some 50 to 250 depending on the show and on your place.

Victoria Hall is an awesome place where you can attend several concerts and piano recitals with the best musicians in the world.
The architecture of the concert hall is great and the paintings are very original and the acoustics in the main hall is perfect. The staff was very friendly and they help me to find my place and giving further information about the concert.
I hope to attend another concert as soon as possible.

How close is Victoria hall to the train station? And any tips on reasonable hotels in the area

It's about 10 min by tram from Cornavin - central train station.
There are plenty of hotels around Cornavin - check Booking website and look at hotels location on the map (website offers this option) but maybe not immediately near the Victoria Hall.

Gostaria de receber o programa do teatro no mes de setembro de 2016. Há dificuldade de se conseguir ingressos? Obrigada pela atenção.
I would like to see a photograph of the old ziegler organ that was destroyed in the 1984 fire. I cannot find one on the internet.
