Ash P In all honesty, after seeing this for a long time, it's still as funny as it's written to be. Not one of Wes Craven's worst movies either since the horror aspect is a little generic but the humor was as good as most horror comedies be. The performance and chemistry were great, though. I highly recommend it if you're a big time fan of horror comedy movies, I'd say check this movie out. 6/10. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Odell J I love this movie came out Halloween 1995 I remember being in 5th grade with a crush, I went to movies a seen it with my crush.. perfect combination of humor/horror a love interest!!! Got me home safe!! Thanks Eddie great movie!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review JBird a Vampire in brooklyn is a very interesting movie, I really enjoyed the performances from Eddie Murphy Angela Bassett John Whiterspoon Kadeem Hardison & Allen Payne. Some of the movie was kinda funny most of it was scary when Eddie Murphy was turned into his Dracula look, Wes Craven did good with making a classic vampire tale, I know it's been like a lot and negative reviews from critics and fans saying how terrible this movie Is but I disagree The movie isnt too bad, I actually think it's pretty good and I really enjoy Eddie Murphy's performance in this movie vampire in Brooklyn. West craven was a excellent choice to direct this film in 1995, I Like all the horror theme and comedy together. I give this flim an A For amazing story and excellent performance from the cast, Outrageous comedy and a classic cult flim Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Manny M "Vampire in Brooklyn" puts Eddie Murphy's versatility on display as he embraces the role of a suave vampire. While the film takes swings at comedy, it's more like a friendly pat on the back than a knockout punch. Murphy's vampire is a decent twist, blending charisma with fang-y charm. However, the comedic rhythm isn't as tight as a vampire's cape, leaving a few chuckles lost in the night. Surprisingly, amidst the attempts at humor, the film manages to weave some serious beats quite well. The exploration of the vampire's loneliness and yearning adds a layer of depth to the narrative, almost like a Gothic touch to the laughter. These moments give Eddie Murphy's character some much-needed dimension, even if the comedy occasionally doesn't reach its full potential. Still, I must admit, I found myself enjoying it quite a bit – call it a guilty cinematic pleasure. If you're a fan of Murphy, sink your teeth into this one for his performance and a uniquely vampiric spin on humor and horror.
